It took me around 160 hours of playing before I learned that resistances don't affect the amount of damage you take to your shield haha I had a really satisfying experience the other day. Was playing with my friend and they said something like, "I'm not going to see this card again this combat. Why is it in my deck?" With this deckbuilder in particular, you need a really compelling reason to have a card in your deck if it isn't helping you the first time you draw it. I know you have to pick and choose because there's a ton of info in this video already, but it's so important to think like that when drafting cards. I do like your rule of 3rds though! Sometimes a card is better, but not better enough.

However, I'm getting frustrated again with the mechanics of this game. I've got an accessory (22 health heal) but no matter what I do it will not let me use it either in battle or out of battle so what is the use of it! I've also levelled up but cannot increase health or anything like that (it didn't give me any perks!) - am I doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
items are only passive boosts to stats. that heal item triggers when you drop low (if i am guessing correctly). when you level up, you only get to pick a new talent, no stat increases to put anywhere. you do get a small boost in hp once you select a talent. bring questions as they come!

What cards do you need to survive act 4? I watched your "beat the game with 4 starting chars" , but I don't understand how to beat act 4 normal mobs who do shadow/chaos dmg. Which of Reginalds cards give mind/dark resist? Why they aren't in that video, but only benedictions?
Magnus does a lot of the team survival for that line up, make sure he is going fast and has some good All Heroes block. Regi often just tops everyone off at the end of a fight. Sometimes you can delay a fight a round or two to get some extra healing done. I subscribe to the philosophy of removing an enemy is the best way to prevent their damage; benediction/bless help a lot with that. Aim to kill off the scariest enemy on turn 1, or to kill anything off before it takes a turn. If you are looking for a card with Courage on it (raises shadow+holy resists), then either Ray of Hope or Anthem of Hope will be the best. Ray is a cheap healing spell, which goes well with Regi talents; and Anthem has inspire on it. @@deckertech-aaron How do I beat last boss with starting team? It seems that my starting 4 heroes with 20 perks unlocked is not ramping fast enough. After 10-15 turns boss does 2 attack combo and wipes my backline from full hp (100+ hp). I can kill 3 clones, but after boss dispels debuffs and piercing dmg bonus on Andrin, I am back to doing like 100 dmg per turn. Where do I get ramping dmg on starting team?
I can pull up that 14 perk save and maybe walk through it a bit, in the meantime: Turn 15 or so boss has an auto-win; ideally first 6 turns for a kill. I don't recall what the boss has that dispels sharp, but you should be aiming to applying and maintaining: Powerful, Bless, And sharp (or whichever enchant weapons you choose on Evelyn). Whatever it takes to maintain those will keep your damage high. Archon Rhin is by no means an enjoyable fight, so I feel ya.

@@deckertech-aaron Thanks a lot again! Just beat it on normal using your guides for 4 starters. 46 hours in 3.5 days. The last extra step to beat last boss in time was scaling from berserker`s claw, which scaled a lot for Andrin + titan gauntlets with more scaling. I can finally enjoy running the game for unlocks now :D Btw, is turbo mode on single player bugged? The difference in speed seems minimal. Are there any other means to speed up game runs, besides auto end turn and game speed? Act 1 to end of Act 4 takes me like 6-7 hours. That`s normal for a beginner I guess?
I'm not sure I understand the question, so I will take a wide answer. The gameplay loop is the same throughout. The end-game is getting to the Act 4 boss on higher levels of difficulty. There are card-back rewards for winning at certain difficulties, and for leveling characters up. You gain character XP the same rate at all levels of play, so it's about unlocking the extra characters and cards and finding an enjoyable play path. It's much of just exploring the different choices and events, or pushing against higher difficulties. the longer you play, the more xp you get, which will make the game easier with more Perks to spend. Lemme know if I missed with my answers!
@@deckertech-aaronThe scripted events is what i don't understand. If an event is set to fail; no matter how many retry you do you always get the same result. Which means the odds are fixed to 1 calculation by the game and aren't actually odds. This makes a result of any events inevitable
the events are seeded, so you will get the same results with a reload. it is random based on your deck/character, and intended to be done on a different run through the game if you intend to try for the success. The intent is that some event choices can be run ending, and that you will try something different next time. There are a bunch of event outcomes I never try for on my runs, because they expect you to have high cost cards, so I only pick those options on specific runs.

the grey shields with a dot in the center are 'Barrier', they become block on the next turn. the colorful shield is 'Insulate', it reduces all elemental damage that you take (frost, fire, lightning). There is also Reinforce for physical damage, and Courage for mystical damage. Does that clear it up? I wasn't sure which symbol you were referring to. Feel free to ask any questions as they come up, the more the merrier.

I'm not sure I understand the question, so I will take a wide answer.
