The iconic rally is back!!! Memories of the whole family watching and cheering it every season. We grew up with this exciting sport. Wish I was there to see. This amazing sport!!! Magical Kenya!!!!🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇺🇸
Wonderful little history there. Asante Sana. ❤️from here in Kenya.
Yes, one of the best is back!
Its only a name now 18 STAGES & a TOTAL 320kms is hardly the SAFARI Rally its a sprint it used to have over 1500 kms of stages
Amen! Rally which you can't tell what next best in in the world
As a Kenyan kid,I used to think all WRCs were called Safari Rally regardless where they were held...hehehe. There is a whole generation of Kenyans(in our 30s now) who as kids were adamant that it wasnt a safari rally car if it doesnt have flip up lights...haha.So all Toyota Celicas were bad ass to us
😄😄😄😄
This Kenyan approves! Hapo sawa
Safari rally
We eagerly awaited the sport in that one week over the Easter.
Sometimes we would go to watch the cars at night and all we could see is, full beam headlights, hear the sound and smell the dust and watch the chopper over the leading car.
We would then walk tens of miles back home and follow constant updates from the transistor radio.
I realised some of the legends that gave us much fun have since fallen.
RIP Collins mcrae, Richard burns ,bjohn waldegard, Jonathan toroitich
Remember watching as a kid... So glad it's back in Kenya 🇰🇪
Welcome back wrc rally in Kenya!!!❤️🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪. It take me back to early eighties to nineties.
Great look back at history.
This was the half spirit if the true rally.....and dreaming about a Lancia return......😍😍😍😍🥰
Wooow, I really love this, it's great the safari is back, 1990s memories
Loving that the WRC has come back to my home country 😎 Kenya and to represent Africa.
yes very true - KENYA JUU .
Colin Mcrae made the blue Subaru 555 car famous in Kenya. After that, most subaru imprezzas in Kenya were mostly blue with gold steel rims. Some even had the 555 painted on it
Kenya my homeland,,on 24 july we locked in for a live rally competition in Naivasha,Nakuru county💥
That Celica is beast
As a Kenyan, we reeally missed Safari Rally, am glad its back!!!
It's never stopped. It just wasn't in the wrc
Very well narrated!!! Makes you feel like you were there, cheering on the guys of yesteryear!!!! Cannot wait to see this long awaited event. Thank you Red Bull Rally for your coverage!!!!
Thanks for the great feedback there - we'll let Chenny know 🙌
@@RedBullRally I wouldn't like them think that we dont have superb roads back at my beutiful Motherland love Safari Rally those days as kids we used to stay awake 2am coz they are camming our side we still Nostalgic we love it +44
@@RedBullRally Bjorn waldgarld hope the young generation will love this rally as we used to but we wat it back March April when its rainning
You bloody rippa! Can't wait. About time this event returned to rallying.
Rally Kenya is BAAAAACK
Joginder Singh gets tears in his eyes in heaven.
I can only imagine cars that have all this aerodynamics having to adapt to these difficult roads, it is true that there is a possibility of having a more manageable route than in the 70s up to the 90s, but ...
I was thinking the same thing. The route can't be the same with these modern cars.
Not that we don't have suppers highways...
With that background music I was expecting to see a clip of Herbie The Love Bug🪲🤭
Simply incredible rally
Kenya. . .my country
We Kenyans being the host will be at our best behaviour
Oooooooooooooliskia wapi
First piece of actual good news, this year.
I think you are going too be upset 18 stages and total of 320 kms is hardly the Safari rally Its just a name now
Love from 254
Dangerous and rough terrain in the world, welcome home Kenya !
2020WRC Safari rally will have one of the most predicable weather. Other than that, all else only the gods know.
Next bring back Dakar rally to Africa.
YEAHHH
🔥🔥👍👍 more Baja.
Kenya oyeeeeee... karibu nyumbani
Karibu Kenya.... Sebastian ogier
Yeaaahhh
Africcaa
celica and 037 looked great on this track. still, cant help thinking about running on these roads with a baja truck
In a recent interview Walter Röhrl talked about how he drove the rally and his codriver lost track of the notes so at one point, by accident, they jumped into the opposite bank of a dry riverbed. To quote Walter: "There was a bang, and then the shifter was in the back seat."
current wrc cars doesnt have bullbars, i wonder if the stages are just a cleared road. no wildlife crossing and suspensions breaker terrain like old time.
The Big one is back....
Man I can't remember the year but I remember watching the start of this when it kicked off from London with my father now I took pictures using a Box Brownie so that is an indication of how long ago also once when the first Kodak cassette cameras the long thin ones, I am going to have to look them out now out of curiosity and to date it by the cars if not dated lol.
. I think you may have saw the start of the 1968 London to Sydney Rally or the 1970 London to Mexico Rally They were World Cup Rallys there was 8 of them so maybe it was one them Hope that helps
@@MOSSFEEN It has thankyou it was the London to Sydney, this sent me in the correct direction although I have not got the photos my sister has my fathers photo's and I am still looking for my pictures.
💪💪💪💪💪💪💪

I used to school here. Lol. The uniform I can remember.
Where exactly ?
@@sarahali5938 Ngukuni Primary... Lol
🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
Why do I feel the old East African Safari rally and the Safari Rally of the ‘80’s is the real deal… this looks very digital and sanitized kind like making whiskey or wine in a lab and not in aged casks and barrels… just my 2cts
Times have moved on. Times have changed, cars have changed, drivers have changed, the sport has changed. You too must change 😃 Tusherehekee
It's very short.. Just not worth it

Ah come RED BULL I expected more from ye the SAFARI RALLY is all but GONE just a name now 320kms & 18 stages the longest being 34kms its hardly the same now where once we had stages of over 120kms long JOKE of a Rally by the way NO Group B car ever won it
But it's no longer a Safari
What a shame
The spirit of the Safari Rally lives on, even though the cars and the event have evolved 🙌
@@RedBullRally The event has change, nowadays is normal to think than fit the classics to the era is evolve. But these short stages are not precisely the true Safari that I met when I was young. btw thanks for the broadcast
nothing endurance about 320km this is like a grand prix on gravel
