Can you do an update video on the solar panels now that it has been more than 1 year? Have they been performing as expected? How much money have they saved you, etc.?
Yes, I was wondering the same thing. I was also wondering with the new electric feed system( silos, augers, conveyors, and lely feeders) and even the lely barn scrapers are your solar panels generating enough electricity to cover the power usage? Thanks
Eric, a long time ago you did a video on the process of how the milk is picked up. I imagine your new viewers would like to see an in depth explanation on what the milk buyers are looking for with fats and proteins
I'd like to see a video of the Vectors in action! My idea was to have a 24 hr timelapse with camera angles from on board the Vector and from stationary in the bunks to watch the Vectors dump. Could even work in an ad read for a battery power station to power your cameras during the timelapse!
I like this idea! I had suggested something similar awhile back but I dont think you saw it. I dont know if its possible but you could set up GoPros on each robot and just let it ride along for a few hours or a day depending on how much space they have to record. Set up a few static cameras in key areas where things happen. You could do an entire video and never have to say a word if you didnt want to.
Good content is hard to make and even harder to present. It's fascinating for city folks to see what it takes to operate a successful dairy farm. The constant improvements and repairs, herd health, crops and yields. Thanks for sharing. I like to hear a 20 questions interview from: Megan, the hoof trimmer and the herd nutritionist. Nice editing, Eric. -EZ
Yes, some videos on just the feeder systems would be interesting for me. I like the day to day farm life content, which you might think is boring, but there is always something happening that I find interesting. Cheers 🇨🇦
Young man, the doors require servicing and lubrication.... WD 40 The tensioner/lift spring...will relieve the load on motor and linkage, grease the guide pulleys on the vertical channels.... Everything will improve operation and efficiency....less downtime...😅😊😅😊🎉❤
Very nice meeting you today at the farm, thanks to my cousin who lives in Millersville who helped us find your farm while visiting from South Florida. Not too often one gets the chance to actually meet the person we follow on YT. Again, here’s wishing you continued success with both your farm and your channel!
That's pretty cool, I never even thought about the overhead door thing if you talked about it I missed it. So obviously the robot has a transponder built-in to open the door
If you want to stop things from rusting after cleaning, just spray them with WD40 and everything should be hunky-dory! The same spray works also on rusted nuts and bolts! Keeps everything clean and smooth. It's a universal spray that serves different purposes!
Hi Eric! Thanks for making these vids! I would love to see more milking, or when the truck comes to collect the milk. manure pumping, lagoon crawlers and agitators, etc. Have you considered a long time lapse in the silos? It would be cool to see the unloader's operating and the level dropping.
Eric, those garage door openers that connect directly to the main spring shaft are really great, and eliminate the chain (or belt) that traditional garage door openers utilize. I imagine you could swap that out easily and affordable, and from experience, they really are great.
That’s usually the way it is when getting parts. Never just one trip. Enjoy your channel Eric. We raise hogs along with corn and beans in central Iowa.👍
Hi Eric, I love watching your videos. I wanted to pass on knowledge about lime. I see the white scale on your skid steer and windows. White vinegar will cut right through it and not hurt paint or glass. Just wiping it off dry will scratch the glass and paint. Keep up the videos .
To fix your door problem. At the bottom hinge, there is a zinc plated little disc at 6:45 that looks like there's two tabs coming out 90 degrees rotated from eachother. it rotates into a slot on the door to keep it open for servicing it. It's in the locked position and you're having to jam the door closed and bend that little disc into submission each time. Try rotating it up and back away from the door.
The Vectors seem to be working out well for your operation . More videos about them would be cool. Your day-to-day probably seems mundane to you, but it’s fascinating to us - please keep taking us along!
That was a big project you completed. You guys really deserve to take a little break and to slow down some. I appreciate the fact that when you do make a video it's always good quality and worth watching. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for todays' video. Thinking - we haven't seen the robots do an entire cycle of their duties --- perhaps stick a camera on both set for time lapse? POV possibilities are endless - but how about try 'human eye height' POV? We'd be like, walking around, 'Hey there's Fred!' (the other robot). :)
I’m loving the idea of more feeding videos. I’m wondering if you could create a video that illustrates all the systems, the inputs to the mixer, and a bit on different mixes for different animals…. Color illustration would be cool but a bit of work.
You should actually use the spacers with longer bolts for the mouting of the muffler. A longer bolt will hqve more flex and will not snap as easily from wibrations.
Hey man! I really enjoy your videos. Did u ever thinked about live streams? Like u live random time in the day few hours, or it' s ut to you. It would be cool to see more from you. Greetings from Hungary. 😁
My cousin has a circular milking parlor over off of 522 just south of McConnellsburg near Big Cove Tannery. I really your set up. Of course you all have more cows than he does to milk.
Eric, do you have the springs on the overhead doors checked periodically? They lose tension in time and make the opener work a lot harder. Keeping the chain and rollers lubed up is also really important. There is a special lube also, not WD40.Glad you got some rain.If you want to work in the dark shop get a COAST HL8N head lamp. It is rechargeable and lasts a long time between charges. Not a cheap date but works like a charm. Great video, thanks.
I know it be abit more upfront cross but would putting a roof over one of the old bunks and turning that into a shop be a idear? Plus maybe a Q&A over a start to finish footage of the feeders going of? Two birds one stone sorta thing?
As a solution to your garage door problem. I wonder if using a curtain system similar to the ones used going into large refrigerated areas would work for you. They are very strong and the robots shouldn’t have any problems going through them. This should also help with your bird problems. Just a thought
Eric, you do a fine job of narrating….even though you’re a tad monotone. 😆 (Don’t take that personal. You do a great job, far better than I. 👍🏼) We need to know what’s going on and you’re the expert. Make a video and tell us all the nitty gritty details. I’d like to hear more on your solar too. Also love to see your milk pickup in action. When I was a youngster, I got to ride around one weekend day with a guy who worked for a dairy and he drove a tanker to all the farms and picked up the milk. Seeing that would probably bring back some great memories. Keep up the great work sir. 🍻
You have a great narrating voice...always better when you explain....if you can sometimes show pics of kids interacting with farm life.....love the vids been watching for a while....great farming practices
Hey bud. Lube th eheck out of your springs on your doors. SOAK them in oil! Lube the rollers,, anything and everything that moves! Adjust your springs after a couple days so the doors ALMOST go up by themselves. This will make your door problems minimal.
Very interesting that the milking cows eat more at one end of the bunk !! Crazy ways of the cows😅. Yes, you and your dad pushed very hard this year, but look where it took you!! You make a video and we will certainly watch.
It’s hard to get the correct parts for anything these days, you have to research for it yourself and give them the part number. I guess it’s the time we live in.
I am interested to see what the lily does when it is blocked, by you, a tractor, a stick, etc. I would also love just an "Overview" of the farm. In this building we do.... in this field we grow, we use crop from this field to do xyz. We have to plant these crops these months, what it takes to upkeep them, etc. Also, I do not like the idea of just a silent tmr mixing video. your input is often very informative and entertaining. I am also interested more in the milking process, and by that I mean what happens to the milk once it enters the milking machine? Where do you sell your stuff, do you only sell milk, etc. Also interested in hoof maintenance, general veterinary house keeping for the cows, what "special needs' the special needs cows have. Overview of your machines and how many different uses you have for them, i liked the maintenance video like todays. Give me some time im sure I can keep recommending ideas! You content is awesome, keep it up man. How much snow do you have to contend with over the winters?
There's always enjoy your videos. Have you ever thought about putting those big plastic rubber flaps like they do in big freezers just curious don't know if it would work
Eric, with the dry weather do expect having a tougher time when you need to pump the pits or do you add water to the pits. Was the manure looked “drier” than in past videos. I recall agitation in the pits has been an issue. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I was noticing the horizontal beams in your temporary shop. Do you know about what year and what was the original purpose of the building? It looks like it was built to last awhile the way they joined the lumber.
Loved the speed lasp of the cows coming back in the beds. Hey Eric, why don't you keep a bottle of listerine around shop? If you can't brush your teeth you can at least swish that around?
Could you please do a video on genetics. Your current bull choices, the bulls that MADE the biggest difference to your herd, information from one generation to the next in increase in production, BF and protein. Your videos are very informative, please DRINK MORE MILK. 😊
Can you do an update video on the solar panels now that it has been more than 1 year? Have they been performing as expected? How much money have they saved you, etc.?
That's a good shout.
Yup, that would be a great video

I'd like to see you clean the windows on the skid steer😂😂 my O.C.D is killing me 😂
That's pretty cool, I never even thought about the overhead door thing if you talked about it I missed it. So obviously the robot has a transponder built-in to open the door
Yup watching the feeder work a cycle from start to finish would be cool.

"A working man's work is never done" He can always find more things to do. Great to see you doing your own maintenance.
Timelapse of the vector in the mixing building though out a full day
That’s usually the way it is when getting parts. Never just one trip. Enjoy your channel Eric. We raise hogs along with corn and beans in central Iowa.👍

Absolutely love seeing the odd jobs it takes to run a dairy.
That's fantastic that you got to finish 'early' on Friday! Work/life balance is so important!
Great family farm. love these vids
If it were me, I would put some antiseize compound on the exhaust manifold bolts
Good work on the care for the cows and on the skid loader repair and cleanup. Thanks and have a good evening!
Idc what they do in the videos, these are just wholesome and fantastic. Keep putting them out please!
Eric, I really enjoy your channel and find all your video interesting.
Great video. So glad you have Friday evenings off now. Family time is the best!!!
Glad to hear you are settling into the new feed system!
Great video. Always waiting for a new upload. Are you planning on planting more trees around the farm?
The Vectors seem to be working out well for your operation . More videos about them would be cool. Your day-to-day probably seems mundane to you, but it’s fascinating to us - please keep taking us along!
would like to see and hear more on the solar input on the farm.......👍👍
I’m sure you don’t miss having to mix and feed, but are reminded every time you see Lily doing her thing for ya!
How are you cleaning the vector pathway? How is the new home holding up?
Awesome video Eric. Kool to see things coming together for you and the farm. 🚜🚜🚜
You may want to look into direct drives for the doors. They have them now. Not a chain on them.
Better to use never seize on those manifold bolts and muffler bolts.
That was a big project you completed. You guys really deserve to take a little break and to slow down some. I appreciate the fact that when you do make a video it's always good quality and worth watching. Keep up the good work.
I would like too see plans for a new shop !
You seem more relaxed now you have the new feeder system going. Will be interested to see if you think it has increased production and reduced waste.
THANK YOU Y'ALL FOR YOUR POWERFUL CREATING AND MAGICAL PERFECTION...VERY PROUD OF Y'ALL 😊😅😊
I’d love to see some stats!!!! Let’s see the data off the vectors:)
Can you do a drone video over the Tritical fields. It would be cool to see. Will all those acres fill it to the top hope so. Great videos
Thanks for todays' video.

Great video bro bro! Great detail really fast really high quality stuff !!
My cousin has a circular milking parlor over off of 522 just south of McConnellsburg near Big Cove Tannery. I really your set up. Of course you all have more cows than he does to milk.
Glad you finally get some time off with your family! Well worthe the investment.
Would love to see more videos on the tower silos and making a mix 😁
I would definitely like to see more on the new Vector system. Thanks
Blow the radiator out.... super dirty 😅😊
Whatever you do is interesting to me. God bless. Stay safe! ❤❤❤❤
get jackshaft openers, will pay back dividends
Agree with calls to feature solar panels. performance data, $ savings etc.
Eric, do you have the springs on the overhead doors checked periodically? They lose tension in time and make the opener work a lot harder. Eric, it’s not a good project unless you run back to the store 2-5times. Lol 😝
Amazing video Eric and Dad. Thank you
I know it be abit more upfront cross but would putting a roof over one of the old bunks and turning that into a shop be a idear?
Plus maybe a Q&A over a start to finish footage of the feeders going of? Two birds one stone sorta thing?
Can you discuss the breakdown of shavings on your fields? And if they're is a buildup.
As a solution to your garage door problem. I wonder if using a curtain system similar to the ones used going into large refrigerated areas would work for you. Just put a couple cameras on a vector and edit it 😂😂. THANKS YOUNG MAN !!
Milk>Soda
I would like you to talk aa little about how the solar is performing for you, thanks
I really like your content
Please keep on doing it if possible
Hey Eric, you should mount a camera on one of the robot feeders and set up for a long timelapse or something. Might be cool to see.
Mount a camera on timelapse on one of the Vectors
Make longer videos please and thank you Eric . Watching from southern Idaho 🇺🇲🚜😎👋🏽🙌🏼
A full break down of the new system would be cool
Here in Bedford we got a 1/4 inch badly needed
You have a great narrating voice...always better when you explain....if you can sometimes show pics of kids interacting with farm life.....love the vids been watching for a while....great farming practices
Hey bud. Lube th eheck out of your springs on your doors. SOAK them in oil! Lube the rollers,, anything and everything that moves! Adjust your springs after a couple days so the doors ALMOST go up by themselves. This will make your door problems minimal.
A full cycle of the feeder from mixing to feeding all the way back to the base. You can speed it up in spots so that the video is not too long.
Your mechanical skills have developed well over the history of your channel
Very interesting that the milking cows eat more at one end of the bunk !! Crazy ways of the cows😅. Yes, you and your dad pushed very hard this year, but look where it took you!! You make a video and we will certainly watch.
I learned a wile ago, take a picture or 2 they can come in handy.
Time to lay off the soda for the rest of your life
I agree with you. Gave up soda in the late 80's and definitely don't miss it
It’s hard to get the correct parts for anything these days, you have to research for it yourself and give them the part number. I guess it’s the time we live in.
Good video Eric, nice things are going along well looks like the new system is working out.
Hi Eric. Huge fan of your content. How about a special video of the toasted grain place.
Could you show the cows leaving the barn to go out into the pasture? Would love to see how excited they get! Keep up the great work.
Their cows don’t go out, I believe. They’re fed inside
@@marcamp5450 Their active milk herd doesn't, but their dry cows and heifers do: 9:56
@ I remember that now. Thanks for the info. I too enjoy watching them go out. 👍

Has the milk output increased or decreased with new feeding system, or has it remained the same?
There's always enjoy your videos. Have you ever thought about putting those big plastic rubber flaps like they do in big freezers just curious don't know if it would work
You could build a smaller door in the big door so only the little door opens for feeding.
Eric, with the dry weather do expect having a tougher time when you need to pump the pits or do you add water to the pits. Was the manure looked “drier” than in past videos. I recall agitation in the pits has been an issue. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
You could just set us up and let us go for a ride on one of the robots as it go for a run👍
I was noticing the horizontal beams in your temporary shop. Do you know about what year and what was the original purpose of the building? It looks like it was built to last awhile the way they joined the lumber.
You really need to to oil that torsion spring that will help so the chain doesn’t have to work so hard
Also...in re the chain....dry graphite for lube?....It(the old one) looked kinda' dry/rusty!...
Loved the speed lasp of the cows coming back in the beds. Hey Eric, why don't you keep a bottle of listerine around shop? If you can't brush your teeth you can at least swish that around?
There's a bolt and bushing in hinge of door that can be replaced.
I was wondering how your somewhat new house is working out for your family?
Another video about “The Politician” that does the liquid manure injection would be good.
Just curious if cross contamination is a problem when you vaccinate multiple cows with the same needle. Keep up the good work
more cow interactions. more cow faces.
Could you please do a video on genetics.
Your current bull choices, the bulls that MADE the biggest difference to your herd, information from one generation to the next in increase in production, BF and protein.
Your videos are very informative, please DRINK MORE MILK. 😊
Can you use strip curtains in lieu of the garage doors that the feeders just drive through? Would alleviate the wear on the doors.
Great video brother from the imperial county ca 🚜🚜🇺🇲🤖🤖🤖
Important county for America’s food🇺🇸🍎🍊🍉
Do you use the same needle on all the cows or do you change them?
Do you have a rotative brush implement for your bobcat to clean the robot's path or do you clean that with a broom?
