Thank you for making a longer video this time. I know it can be a bit tedious for you to be so multifunctional . You do really good at juggling all your rolls. I truely admire your very good strong work ethic. Stay safe and work smart like I see you do each time you post. You don't ever come across as a know it all. Tom in Minneapolis.
Man Eric I don't think I have ever seen farmers look after their stuff as much as you and your dad do! You two are always fixing or improving something! Your videos are on point every single time! Keep up the great work!
I was so impressed and delighted when you mentioned keeping your back straight. Smart man. As a nurse who took care of her back religiously (although that’s not always possible in this field) I still ended up with significant back issues. Taking care of your ‘young’ back now will pay in the long run.
@@freedomfan4272 , ain’t that the truth! Great video! Always learning from your videos. Thanks for that. No suggestions, no complaints, no tips, no problems with what you're doing. Just appreciation. Thanks Eric!
I am now 72, but l remember being a teen and helping my uncle spread manure in the spring on his family farm here in Northern Michigan. We had a 1938 John Deere B, and pulled a spreader for him that had a rope to deploy. The thing l learned the hard way was you never turned around to check the status of the load, as on a regular basis a piece would get flung forward, not back. Too funny!😖🫣😂
I can't get over how fast you can run that disk bine and it's cutting beautifully. I would guess we could only mow half that fast with an old siècle mower and still your stubble looks really clean & even. Is it the machine or the farmer? Probably a little of both. 😉 I hope your family is doing well - I bet Jack is getting big. Soon he'll be mowing the rye...Thanks for sharing.
@@MrMagnum7220 Agreed and to add to that I won't buy a New Holland disc mower again it took way too much horsepower to run and the quick attach knives are a must
I love the longer videos! I know it’s harder and more tedious to make longer videos but it’s so worth it. I’m still happy with the regular length videos you make but something about a longer video from you is just special. Thanks for the great work you do on these videos Eric!
Great to see you got some harvest weather! Here in Southern MO we haven't been able to put up any feed yet. I have to hustle to get the yard mowed between rains.
Some years, when it works, we have a silage bunk empty. We put first cut or rye or triticale in it then by the time silage is ready it’s empty again. It saves bags, time, money and plastic. Just throwing it out there. You’ve inspired me, just returning the favour. I have a love hate relationship with bags and I love drive over piles more now so we are transitioning over to them in our bunks for smaller crops. Thanks for your videos and content.
Thanks for filming and sharing. Takes me back to my old agriculture days (not just this vid.. all of them.. i just dont comment on them all). Man, that mower is a hungry hippo for sure. Back in the day when I mowed hay in comparison, it would look as if I were in slow-motion. You're one busy, hard-working man. So many think farming is easy, if there was an ounce of truth in that everyone would be doing it. The hardest thing for most people is getting out of bed early, not to mention working way past sundown. Can't just turn it off after 8 hrs can ya?
I enjoy your videos because you do so many different things. I never knew farming was so complex requiring so many different skills. Great job! Regarding cleaning the scrapper. It seems to me routinely cleaning the muck, dust, straw from all your equipment would extend its lifetime. But I realize there are a limited number of hours per day.
Great educational video Eric. I’ve learned through your videos that manure management is a big thing. Do you have enough land to support it? Crops have their own timeline. Good to see you on top of it. Enjoy how you & your dad are adapt at jerry-rigging. Take care. Stay safe.
