I lived across the street from a farm like yours in the UK. Every year the farmer sprayed liquid gold on his field and omg did stink. But after 6 or 7 years when he sprayed I smelled brownies and I did for a decade or more. I did not understand it but I did not mind either.
Thanks Michael. I'm slowly modifying my videos to make them more personable. I want my viewers to see that farming is a very difficult, risky, stressful, expensive and lots of hard work. It's sweaty, dirty often dangerous and never-ending. EVERY farming video I make shows that ALL the things that go on in my videos is for people like you and I to be able to put a little milk in our coffee and milk on the kids cereal.....
Well mixed, transported, distributed over the parcels and worked the liquid manure into the ground to reduce emission and conserve the nitrogen in best way. Application rate of the effluent was written to be 3500 US gallons per acre., means roughly 32,739 liter per hectare, say 32.7 cubic metre / ha, which seems reasonable. Calculated using 1 US gallon per acre = 9.35 liter per hectare. Thanks to Farmer Drone and to Midlee Farms of Vernon Ontario and Meyerhans Custom Farming Inc.
Very interesting video but who cleans the manure off the hoses when done. That's thousands of feet of crap covered hose. Lol. Losing my lunch just thinking about it. Lol
Interesting perspective. I was wondering where all the manure comes from -- all your own resources or maybe other farmers take truckloads of the stuff to your facility. It looks big enough to cope with the output of several thousand cows! Col, NZ.
Well, this 6M liter lagoon holds the manure from one dairy farm and will hold about a 6 month supply. It's emptied twice a year. Every farm has a similar holding facility. The natural byproduct from these animals makes fantastic fertilizer for the next crops....
Merci.

Very common to inject it in the soil in the Netherlands, it's also way more efficient for the nitrogen. You can improve your nitrogen efficiency somewhat by working the manure in the ground as soon as possible with a cultivator
It is not difficult to see the amount between the three nozzles. Actually, the middle one has too much and the two outer ones too little, or vice versa. But since the spray was applied across the field, the farmer could mix it up again when working it in.
It might not be good for the bugs and worms but if you can figure out a way to do without farmers then the bugs and worms will have a field day on all the human carcasses from starvation.
It might be nutrient rich for growing crops but it certainly isn’t good for earth worms or other bugs, intensive farming is a big contributor to global warming, can’t keep blaming the airline industry ❤

Fantastic set up for slurry spreading
Yes it is ... quite a system! Really allows the farmer to know accurately what nutrients are applied to the field ..
Nice video!
Hi and welcome back with the comment. Watching yours now too!
I've never seen it applied this way, just using tank trucks and trailers!
It's common here ...

How much it cost you in making that concrete manure pond?

I would have expected the lagoon to be covered. Does it not rain much there? Rain would have filled the lagoon in a couple of weeks here.
we don't get tons of rain here ... 35 inches annually ... and evaporation takes at least that ...
Always? The sun doesn't shine at night!

I thought it needs to be injected a few inches down? If it rains it will run off.
No, injection is not required (by law)... better ... but not law
Is it me or does the middle splash plate look to be putting it on thicker than the side ones? Nice video. Thanks.
you are correct ...I believe there are 5 splash plates usually on this boom but only 3 were used during this application
Another nice video ,was wondering do they use gps when spreading and field mapping .
Yes, GPS is used and steers the tractor and turns the spray pump on and off ...
Main pump engine looks like it might be a C15 Cat
I'll ask the operators next time I see them ...
You don’t have to inject it into the soil?
No, it's not a Federal requirement .. just an option ..

Ciao Italia... cosa intendi con "lo fanno subito intero?" Credo che qualcosa si sia perso nella traduzione...

Does the main line get any kinks in it when they pressurise it?
No. Once the pressure builds up, it's fine. The tractor in the video with the reel on the back is making sure it doesn't.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
glad you liked it !!
@wheelindairy does the same thing but they inject it under the ground and dont spray it on the soil
