I would love to see this guy in a Prog band. His playing is phenomenal from everything I've ever heard and his tone is incredible. I'm buying one of these preamps soon. I already had my mind set on it but watching this sealed the deal.
I'm Sold !! I am going to be heading over to my local music store to pick up a Plex, it sounds awesome & is very well thought out & can be used for practicing, recording, & in live situations where you don't want to or can't bring your amp, the Plex can be hooked up direct & you'll still have that GK sound, ... I love GK gear ! I'm the proud owner of a Fusion 550 with 2 x 212 Neo cabs & a MB500 with a CX 210 cabinet.
Like many bassists who have been playing for 50 years I've tried every amp there is. To my ear nothing even comes close to GK. Can this be used as a pre-amp for GK's powered MBP cabs?
I come in peace, just wanted to inform you that there is actually some phasing going on, whether it's bleed from your monitors or inears hitting the mic or a software side loopback issue, there's definitely a second unwanted signal on the vocal, it's very clear on your sibilance, when monitored at a reasonable level. Didn't mean that to be startling or to offend your production, it's just the vocal. The demo portion of the video is spot on, thanks.
Just received it today. Weird noise with a like a slow gate effect. Ain’t digging the noise, with low/no-gain and no comp or drive. I don’t hear it on this demo. Wonder if this is a bad unit?

Sounds great in most of the clips the hi-fi sound is killer, but I never got over the “farty” overdrive sound........same sound on my fusion 800.
Always the best videos to watch before clicking "buy now".
But, is there a way to save your settings???

Ya you just run it through your effects loop and it bypass your amp equalizer and just uses the watts of your amp

Um...no. There was only one mic (for vox intro/outro) and all bass demos were DI only.

That's a UBass, made by Kala. They're super interesting, the strings are made of silicon, it's as close to a bass ukulele as you can get :)
Can it used into a gk cabinet? How many watts/ohms can it handle? Can I substitute it for an amp head?
How do you compare with Aguilar Tone Hammer?
