And I honestly think ernesto de la cruz was the worst pixar vilan because of that it was just si predictable for me. But the rest of the disney twist vilan always got me.

what i thought was interesting during the time this movie came out, people were criticizing this movie for not being a racing movie like the first one, but the first one barely had any racing in it too. i really liked how different this movie was to the first one, bc the first one was a character driven movie about lightning, while this movie was a character driven movie about mator.
and in a universe where everything is a car or vehicle of some sort, why stick to a story stuck on the road?? i loved the fact it was a spy movie, expanding the strange universe in such a fantastically fun way.
To keep a constant tone. 1 and 3 stick to that character first formula based on racing and what it means to be a racer. The part most ppl like about 2 is the racing bits bc it calls to what the first was about. Change isn’t bad but I just don’t know why you would choose a spy film right after a racing film. The tone is inconsistent as he said during the reaction, the first was light hearted and now they’re killing cars.
I don’t think ppl hate the movie as it is, I just think ppl don’t like it bc it’s a Cars film. The 3rd went back to the racing and put the focus on McQueen again which made it good.
As a kid I loved this film bc it was so out there but then seeing it now is just jarring.
It’s like a Disney Plus spin off film but instead it’s a sequel to the iconic first film 😭
Without cars 2 cars wouldn't be what it is today cars 2 had major character development and a good mix of racing and action perfect for all ages

While I personally loved it, most people rightfully hated it because it was an extremely derivation from the first movie, where racing is no longer central to the theme and neither is Lightning, it's because of the second movie the third one didn't do as good as they hoped because people's image of the cars universe was already quite sullied by cars 2.

You must be pretty young then, first movie I saw in theatres was Finding Nemo. And no people hate this movie because it's genuinely that bad.
Nah. I don't think people who actually saw this movie even remembered what the critics said about the movie. What we remembered was seeing the movie itself. And based on that is why people hated this movie lol I absolutely love everything Pixar, except for this.
Not because of JV but even this reaction was a bit boring lol there's not a single moment in this movie is when I would go "Oh I can't wait for this part to see how he reacts" I'm going at this reaction of "let's just get through with this and get it out of the way" lol and I noticed JV didn't even shed a tear from a Pixar film lol that should tell you something

Yes it does. You just have comprehension issues. Tell me what you don't understand about the plot.
The reason Doc Hudson isn't in the movie but mentioned and the scene that heavily implies that he's dead is because Paul Newman passed away in 2008, two years after Cars. Instead of trying to find a sound-a-like John Lasseter decided to let Doc be dead to honor Newman.
Van's comment on Mater's story "That never happened!" is from Mater's Tall Tales shorts where Lightning says in all shorts "Hey wait a minute! That never happened!" when question Mater's stories he tell.
I think this movie isn't bad, I think they should've just released it after Cars 3, a Lion King 1 1/2 type deal

Nah cars 3 shows how lightning McQueen is getting old and outclassed and it fits perfectly as a 3rd movie. He is basically turning into docs story

As a quick explanation, since they didn't explain it well in the movie lol but the villain at first did want everyone to switch to the alternative fuel, but then later on found huge oil reserves, so after that he wanted to make the alternative fuel look bad so everyone goes back to oil
Not the best Pixar movie but I still had a lot of fun watching it

LOL, when Larry the Cable Guy (Mater) was promoting the movie before it was released, he was with the NASCAR announcers during a race, and when they would talk to him about the movie, he told them that he did his own stunts!
I figured out the plot twist long before Mater’s clues.
If Zundapp made the Ray Camera to take out Allinol, why was it developed on an gas mine in the middle of the ocean? Getting samples there should be difficult, unless the samples were _from_ there.

If you like Spy Movies then please watch Spies In Disguise it’s a way better animated spy movie than Cars 2 which isn’t good criticaly.
Nothing beats the OG Cars, but Cars 2 hits way closer to home for me than Cars 3. That might be because I'm European and a huge Formula 1 and James Bond fan (I like almost every stereotypical European thing), and they actually visit Italy and England, there is an actual F1 car in Cars 2, Finn McMissile is basically James Bond's Aston Martin DB5, and on top of all of that, Lewis Hamilton, the 7-time Formula 1 world champion, the driver I've been rooting for since I started watching Formula 1 in 2013, makes a cameo as himself, the black race car Lightning McQueen talks to at the party in Tokyo, and very happily calls for him with a loud "Lewis!". So nice to see my hero make an appearance in a movie that's so dear to me and many other petrolheads around the world.

Even if Michael Kane (Finn McMissle) plays Alfred in the Christopher Nolan's Batman movies, for me he always be Ebenizer Scrooge from A Muppet Christmas Carol.
Honestly I don't think this movie was that bad, never did, but the older I get, the more out of place it feels in this series.
#1 - Narcissist learns the error of his ways and becomes more humble
#2 - James Bond-esque spy thriller centered around a secondary character
#3 - Former narcissist learns the value of being a mentor and guiding the younger generation

Wasn't in the reaction but if you look at the scene where two of the bad guy cars crashed into the pub in London, if you look on the wall, you can see a familiar tapestry but the characters in it have been animated into cars.
The tapestry on the pub's wall is the same one we see in Brave. Since JV has seen it already. ;) :)

Luigi was a Fiat 500 which was a reference to the car that Lupin the Third drives.
Here, Cars 2 has a second Ghibli reference to supplement to that.
Luigi's Uncle and Aunt are actually the same car type that Lady Clarisse drives in Lupin the Third: The Castle of Cagliostro in the opening car chase scene. Pretty iconic.

There are 2 movies on Disney plus that I would recommend. They are staples of an Irish childhood. Darby Ogill and the little people, it has a very young Shaun Connery In it. It’s about leprechauns and some Irish mythologies.
And Greyfriars Bobby, about a dog who is devoted to his owner even after the owners death. Both live action. Both incredible
Fun fact: Uncle Topolino is named after Mickey Mouse's Italian name which means "little mouse". It's also a Fiat 500 car, continuing with theme of Luigi being a Fiat, an Italian brand car.

The first cars movie is amazing. The second one is decent, not bad. The third one is good, but not as good as the first
I liked the movie in general, but had a really mixed reaction about it being a "sequel" movie. Would have worked much better as a kind of spin-off franchise or something.

Honestly making sequel that turns the original plot into an B plot and the making the A plot a spy movie staring Mater is a terrible idea for a movie. That’s why people call this Pixar’s worst. Also Blue Sky showed Pixar how to make a GOOD animated spy movie with Spies In Disguise. Please watch if you don’t understand why Cars 2 isn’t good.

Cars 2 is nearly universally disliked. I would've much more enjoyed the racing elements, and that's coming from someone who hates essentially every sport (including racing). I would even recommend that most people just skip Cars 2 and pretend that Cars 3 is actually just Cars 2.

They even basically pretend like the events of Cars 2 didn't happen in the next movie. It's much much more enjoyable in my opinion.
I don't care for racing, I need action or its lost in the dumps, James bond, Star Wars, POTC. Name a Posed movie that has those qualities. I don't think so. It was a good movie.
I don't know if you've watched the Netflix movie "Klaus" yet, if not it's a very beautiful Christmas movie about a postman :)
