Bebe's Kids and Who Framed Roger Rabbit 🎉😂
PLEASE 🥺 PLEASE 🥺 PLEASE 🥺 Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Bebe's Kids!!! Please great classics 🙏 🎊🎉🏆🙏 Great movies 🎬 ‼️❕️✅️
the scene where Ego tastes the ratatouille and is transported back to his childhood and his mother's comfort food, has always been a profound one to me. If you look closely, he goes from being grey skinned, like the grim reaper, to having color after that experience. The food transformed him back to a human in a sense. still chokes me up some to this day.
Specially in you look closer colete said "this is a peasent dish" so that means Ego was actually poor before being famous. That just add more to the story to me
Take an even closer look, and you'll realize he grew up in the house at the beginning. That means the old lady is Ego's mother and Remy learned to make ratatouille from watching her cook.
@@Grizzlox GOD this movie has so much depth.
@@SirBroadcast thats been proven false, dont take his word for it lol
In France, we called this type of memories " a Proust madeleine "
I will always love that Anton Ego is so much happier at the end of the film. He looks less thin and his cheeks are much rounder. He's been enjoying himself by being a regular at the new restaurant to see Colette, Linguini and Remy.
In a nutshell, Ratatouille is one of Pixar’s finest films in my opinion.🙂
I second that opinion! At the very least it's my favorite Pixar movie. That review read by Peter O'toole/Anton Ego gets me every time.
This is Pixar’s top movies of all time (personal opinion):
1. The Incredibles
2. Ratatouille
3. Finding Nemo
4. Bugs
5. Wall-E
6. Inside Out
7. Toy Story 2
8. Up
9. Toy Story
10. Soul

I like Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Wall-E, Soul, and Inside Out
I learned a lot about fish and rats from the two former movies
One of the quote from this movie that helped me with my studies is "Not everyone can be a good artist but a good artist can come from anywhere" I felt that hard as I matured up.
Everything about Anton Ego is just amazing...his design, name (pretty on the nose considering what he represents), his typewriter shaped like a skull, office like a coffin and those lines and comeback are legendary ! Also that ending is so profound and revealing of the work of a critic...The world is unkind to the new, sometime you must give it a chance !
Tell monsuir linguini to “hit me with his best shot”
X1000!!! ✊😂😄😊☺️😇🙏
Wait, his typewriter is shaped like a skull?
That first apartment was probably a gift from Chef Gusteau to Linguini's mom in a romantic sense. There's an understory to that relationship that probably really resulted in both the Chef's and mother's death and the love probably the reason for the drop in quality in food due to split in passion focus resulting in Anton Ego's critical rating.
Yes, maybe the appartment was a gift but in Paris, the tiniest one is expensive
JV: Imagine that? Just hundreds of rats just living in your roof? Gross.
Rats above my head: * squeak in offence*
The house from Egos childhood is said to be the house from the beginning. And that old lady was Egos mother. Which explains why Ego was brought back to his mother's cooking as a kid. And because Remy used her stuff to cook and learned from her. And I love how the movie has a message that everyone has a gift and has a purpose. Linguini's wasn't cooking, but he was good with skating and I love how it came back at the end. That even he had a place at the restaurant.
In France, we called this type of memories, " a Proust madeleine " in reference of the french writter Marcel Proust who mentionned the madeleines' odor in one of his books as a childhood memory
5:00 Chef Skinner is voiced by the late Sir Ian Holm. The actor for Bilbo Baggins from the LOTR trilogy films and old Bilbo in the Hobbit films.
I always loved hearing his voice as Skinner in this film because I'm so used to seeing him as the Hobbit we all love and enjoy seeing onscreen that when I discovered he was in a sense, the menacing and strict chef in charge of Gusteau's, I loved that range of voice-acting.
ego is one of the best characters of the movies imo! he’s not a villain, he’s just severe but he’s good doing his job. he didn’t try to put them down, he has always been honest with his opinion, at first he just didn’t share gusteau’s idea of cooking but then he changed his point of view when he met remy and that showed how professional he is. i love the part when he eats the ratatouille and has the flashback
Ego isn’t a villain, he’s just an antagonist.
@@saklee1777 i don’t even see him as an antagonist character tho, just an extremely realistic one. he does his job severely, but is open to change his opinions when he has to.
Rats are highly misunderstood animals. They are really intelligent and social. They are also very clean, they even clean themselves more often than cats. They all have their own little characters - just like other animals we share our homes with. Rats are simply great !!
Anyone can cook but not everyone can as a profession. It takes a very specific mindset for that.
Bro u have no idea how much this movie is nostalgic to me OMG I remember seeing the trailer of this movie as a kid, I was in my bed in my hold house and .. well I used to LOVE watching disney/pixar movies before the actual movie in the DVD I remember watching the trailer of this one and... wow NOSTALGIA... bro I HATE the nostalgic feeling, I used to love nostalgia but now I hate lol makes me remind of my childhood and how I will never be able to comeback to the old times...
damn bro, you might want to get a therapist... instead of talking about this in youtube comments, unless you already do, and in which case, good for you :D
The scene where Anton has his turn around and his review is still one of my favorite movie moments ever! This movie portrayed the way art can affect people and how people can be artists, even in the way Linguini can support everyone. Loved the reaction! One of my favorite movies period!
As a french girl, I'm happy to know you liked it.
I don't know where you live but it's totally normal if you hadn't see ratatouille on a menu because it's a french dish and you can only taste it in France or in a french restaurant in other country. But normally, it's not the typical dish you can see in gastronomic restaurants (it's why Colette called it " a peasant dish ").
About Ego's flash-back because of the ratatouille, in France, we called that " a Proust madeleine " who design sometimes who make you remember your childhood in reference of the french writer Marcel Proust who mentioned the madeleines' odor as a childhood memory in one of his books.
Fun fact : in rhe french, Colette is voiced by Camille the singer of the song you can hear during the movie (the one who starts when the cooks celebrate the fact Linguini is Gusteau's son)
This movie just gives a bit of reality as a message. Some pepole are just simply not made for what they meant to be (Linguini son of a famous chef), some others can get to it by their own effort and work ( Colette end up being a good chef ), and some others are just talented for what they do and be the best just because they were born for that (Remy) no matter where they come from or how they look " a rat". That's why sometimes people get frustrated looking for something probably they are just not capable of. And those who say you can do "everything" if you believe or always follow your dreams is just smth that doesn't happen at all. This is one of the best pixar movies apart from nostalgic :) one of my animated favourites as well.
A channel named Schaffrillas Productions made a video about this movie, he explained it more there you should check it out.
There's actually a theory that the old lady at the beginning is Ego's mother as her kitchen and everything in it is the exact same as the kitchen from Ego's flashback
That wouldn't make sense as there's a MASSIVE height difference.
@@Orion_TheyThem
Well, almost everyone shrinks and gets wider with age.
@@mikeblatzheim2797 its also not the exact same, the layout of the kitchen isnt even similar
@@josephg.1.130 it is, look again. Everything to small details resembles.
@@CosmicSpider69 its not. You should actually check it out. The only reason its even remotely similar is bc the animators were lazy.
"what's his name, Spaghetti?... Linguini". lol
Easily in my top 5 animated movies. I watch it way too often. Thanks Disney plus. Like 5 times I the last few months
28:28 "He should have written it all down."
Every single writer or author when they wake up from having a good dream.
Oh yeah, that was definitely one of the most obvious solutions that made me dislike Linguini a bit more. Everyone always talks about how Ego is very menacing and villain-like but as a critic, he's basically being paid a lot of money to criticize and review restaurants or the chefs that are rising to fame. If anything, when Ego steps in to announce he's paying Gusteau's a visit, he's basically the obstacle coming in to check Linguini's ego which seems to be letting the fame go to his head. The irony, Anton Ego coming in to play after Linguini lets his own ego expand rapidly upon his newly discovered fame.
Linguini literally states that when Ego is coming, he needs to focus. Sure... he's decided to focus after quite literally abandoning his partner in rage outside and goes in to basically calm down and accomplish next to nothing. I still enjoy the movie and the story, but that one scene makes me dislike Linguini's personality.
Hey, cut the kid some slack. It was his first job, which turned into his unearned celebrity. It went to his head. But he realized he was wrong, and admitted it to his co-workers.
@@wwoods66 Im only going to cut him slack because yes, he did in fact apologize and admit the truth in front of his coworkers and Remy.
I didnt say he was a bad character. The circumstances that happened because they all acted impulsively is what drives the movie along nicely and in an entertaining fashion.
Also, just one small correction... This is not his first job. Linguini has stated to Remy at the river that he's lost many jobs. Gusteaus was his last option he needed to survive after his mother Renata passed away
As Schaffrillas Productions said, This is Pixar's magnum opus.
21:14 Peter O'Toole is the VA for Anton Ego. He does sound similar to how Captain Picard speaks doesn't he? I first saw this film and also thought Sir Patrick Stewart was in this movie.
Thank you JV for continuing these reactions! I think I speak for everyone when I say we all love how invested you get. I hope Jane and the baby are doing good and you guys are keeping warm. Cold today in New Market so I'm sure it is for you too!
i ADORE this movie!!! :) but one gripe i do have is that the “linguini ruins the soup” scene isn’t very well shown. a lot of people don’t really get that part. i THINK it’s supposed to be that he knocked it over so he’s trying to fill it back up (with whatever’s nearby) before anyone notices
No that's exactly what it is. Who thinks or says otherwise??
Taste is the closest sense to memory...no wonder Ego was moved !
In France, we called it " a Proust madeleine " where something reminds you, your childhood.
It's a reference of the french writer Marcel Proust who says in one of his books than madeleine odor reminds him childhood memories
I was so excited to hear you were watching this This is such an underrated gem of a movie which was and still is one of my top Pixar movies.
was checking my feed this morning for this ... you've made my day now that I get to watch it!!!
You know your a pro chef if you can make food taste exactly how Mom would make it.
In France, we called this " a Proust madeleine " who designed something that remind you childhood memories.
It's a référence of Marcel Proust, a french writer who says in one of his books than madeleine odor reminds him his childhood.
Happy New year to you and your family! Rats are actually one of the best pets if you care for them properly
Brought to you by Pixar and directed by Brad Bird, starring Patton Oswald. A rat who is very good at cooking. When he ventures out into Paris he meets Linguini voiced by Lou Romano who cannot cook. However, the two work together to become the greatest restaurant in France
How come no discussion in the end??
I've noticed not a lot of people have reacted to a bug's life. It's a great movie very underrated.
I love this movie so much, such a heart warming film!
Also animals are really smart and feel everything humans feel, they just don't have voices the same as people
If you look at the walls in the old lady’s kitchen at the beginning, you’ll see a framed photo that indicates she was in some kind of military or revolutionary army. Hence the gun. 😂
Oh, I never noticed it. It explains everything even if she's not as good than her young years
this is one of my favorite movies, such nostalgia and such beauty :)
I rescued a wild city rat as an infant and he's been the greatest animal love of my life. This movie will always mean so much more to me because of my bond with my Nugget.
Such a beautiful movie. Can’t watch it without getting super hungry! And I always laugh because it is so funny! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
I love watching JV's reactions bc he's so chill and calm and his intro and outro were sooo fast like ??? I had to replay the beggining just to hear him say his one sentence intro again XD He's hilarious. And I never skip his promotion for patreon because I laugh at the voice over with the fake lip sync hahaha
Happy New Year 2022!!
happy new year to you and your beautiful family!!!!
One of my favorite Pixars. And the new ride at Disney World captures it perfectly.
4:41 Fun detail. When Mater travels to Paris in Cars 2, during the montage, you can see that Gusteau's also makes an appearance. The Cars universe version has it appear as "Gas"teau's which is the easter egg there.
Folamour of the Incredibles appears too as a mime
LOVEEEEEE ratatouille. thank you for this king
Happy new year to you and your family king 🎉
Happy New Year
I’m really sick and your vids have been getting me through it man
I was crying at the ending too
Seen this movie when it first came out in theaters 😭
During the Le Festine/Linguini's rise to fame montage, at the end you see Linguini roller skate with Colette, which shows he's good at it and helps his girlfriend who's struggeling with it. That shows the roller skating doesn't just come from nowhere.
Honestly top 3 Pixar all time! The way they portray the power of food is incredible. I love how Ego is initially portrayed as an all evil villain but we later find out not only it’s because of how passionate he was about the good but how he was willing to accept change as well.
Omg the fact that you know Weekend At Bernie's! Yes! 😀
Please react to Lilo and stich and Brother Bear two of the most underrated Disney movies.
Loved watching this movie growing up 💜💜
24:35 It's for a few moments, but the mime that Linguini and Colette rollerskate past is Bomb Voyage from the opening of the Incredibles.
So glad you enjoyed this one! I have a soft for this movie because I love cooking (not professionally just in the kitchen lol.) Not many people seem to talk about how good the movie is but they did such an amazing job on it. Bravo again! 😄
As a french girl, I'm happy you liked it
god i love this movie so much
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
"I have a tiny" *looks down
LOVE the crane shot when they kiss.
Skinner is voiced by late Sir Ian Holm, best known for playing old Bilbo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring and The Return of the King and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and Battle of Five Armies and Ash in Alien. He passed away in 2020 from complications from Parkinson's at the age of 88. The Parkinson's prevented him from traveling to New Zeeland for the Hobbit movies so Peter Jackson arraged for filming Holm's scenes at Pinewood Studios in London (same with Sir Christopher Lee whose high age and health problem prevented him to travel as well).
"Don't let someone die like in every other Disney films!"
Too late, Gusteau died.
Thank you for reacting to this movie. this movie [Ratatouille] is one of my favorite movies
Linguini is an annoying character but I like this movie a lot
Ratatouille is one of my two favorite pieces of media that make cooking amazing, this and Food Wars
I missed your breakdown and thoughtful comments you always have at the end :(
Great reaction though.
The ego scene now has me bawling cause of remembering how good my moms cooking was and how I took the little things like that for granted a lot and now I'll do my best to not do that in the future and love linguini voice actor mainly cause he voiced Bernie from the incredibles and he was just as funny as linguini for me
i immediately clicked this video because i know you will have the best reaction lol
finished the video and it was amazing as expected!
The rat trap store is based on a real store that exsist in Paris, complete with dead rats (probably taxidermied) hanging in the rat traps like seen here.
A restaurant like Remy's would be so freaking cool in real life! And Ego's speech was one of the greatest ever.
The paper chase scene is the best part of the movie.
The Paper Chase (Chase GBA)
Jamie oliver is the voice of the health inspector. Fun reaction dude.
“What’s his name spaghetti? “😂
Omg so excited to watch thiss❤
One of the last great Pixar movies .. classic.
Great reaction! I really like this movie!
While most Disney movies can be watched and enjoyed by people of all ages, I feel like this one is extra fun for adults. And also it's underrated, I feel.
This movie was composed by Michael Giacchino
He also references his Medal of Honor Underground music when Colette mentions the resistance.
I watch Gordon Ramsay on youtube to learn how to cook too! Watching him makes me like to learn and I wished I started doing it earlier in life
Anyone can cook. This is my second or third favorite movie depending on the day
JV said, "styll" and he instantly revealed he's from Toronto to new comers haha
Also, shook there was no outro!!
I love this movie!!!
YEAH!! my favorite pixar movie, i just love everything about it
I cook with my nose I usually could smell when it's good and most the time I can get it back to that same smell which means the same flavor.
jesus christ that cricket sound would go perfect with like 90% of your commentary
omg Fantastic Mr. Fox YESSSSSS!
Weekend at Bernie’s!!!! A frikkin classic!!!!! You gotta react to that one
In paris they really do have those rats hanging in the windows
Because the scenes are going by fast I just realized that the guy that asked for something new from the chef is the same guy that’s on a date on the boat that gets the cloth pulled from it when Remy is running away with the papers 😂
I'm new here. So are those other videos he reacted to on Patreon, are they gonna come here or do I have to pay to see it?
I think he always uploads the videos here later
11:20 Sometimes, when I see Remy eat like that, I just want to gently scratch his head with my finger.
Toy Story & Ratatouille are my favorite
Little Little fact mice and rats hate cheese they love peanut butter!!!!!
This is one of the best 2007 animated movie ever.
30:27 He could skate now?
Well, there is a scene where he and Colette ares skating around.
Anton Ego is voiced by peter o toole
This movie to me is the best looking Pixar movie, especially all the kitchen scenes.
Hi! JV i hope you and your family had a great and safe new years. PLEASE when u get the chance consider watching Spirit:The Stalion of Cimarron I promise you, you will absolutely love it (the soundtrack is similar to Tarzan)
I used to rent the Ps2 game from Blockbuster as a kid 😭 it was actually amazing
Cool! Are you gonna do Cars 3 reaction?
