Singapore's Iconic Buffet is Back! The Legendary Mandarin Oriental EMBU Festive Buffet!

- Singapore just keeps getting better and better! Not only because of the great food and the buffets of course, but it's the people! The old friends and new friends you meet and I was grateful to meet and join some new friends to experience a wonderful dinner at a Hawker Center! A sincere and heartfelt thank you for Feng and the crew of Kevin, Vanessa, and Hui Qua for a wondering dinner! Fantastic company and thank you for taking me to an incredible and huge dinner!
And later on, I got a chance to visit one of the Iconic buffets here in Singapore that recently re-opened. This is the Mandarin Oriental's EMBU restaurant that just relaunched their buffet and it started of with a bang! Abundant seafood at every station from scallops, lobsters, oysters and all the fresh seafood you can think of...and if you are looking for the meats, they have that too with the hard working chefs grilling up fatty juicy tomahawk steaks and an assortment of offerings for the carnivore in us all.
And of course, I got a chance to sample the classic cuisines from the Singapore Chilli Crab, succulent BBQ, to their signature laksa. This is as good if not better than any Las Vegas Buffets and hopefully the meals here get more and more spectacular!

Oh Tim, thank you so much, the food looked wonderful! God Bless you!
Known locally as Jambu, the Rose Apple is aka 水蓊 (sounds like 'shui yung' in cantonese), it can be added to rojak, or as in the olden days, dipped into a mixture of dark soy, sugar & cut bird's eye chillies. Pineapples were eaten in the same way.
You're finding your way to the best places, Tim. The world's best buffet in France, to Singapore. What a life!
Thank you so much and incredibly grateful to get to visit and share these places here. Much appreciated and hoping to get more holidays to travel!
Agreed for those of us who ache inside with famiy this is a welcome respite@@TimLeeLetsGo
Lobster and potatoes! This buffet looks delicious. Did you see the lightning storm behind you? Enlightening! Thank you for sharing!
Lovely buffet and very friendly associates
Tim you are amazing, tks for the continued devotion to your content. We love it!
Just so grateful to be able to visit these places and such a pleasure to make new friends in Singapore as well
What an amazing buffet!!! The seafood and the sushi looked so good! (even the corn sushi). I was impressed by how the desserts were all so unique and looked so delicious (particularly the "mandarin orange" and the chocolate roulatine). Thanks for taking us along on another amazing buffet.
Love
Your Canadian manners while you’re travelling. Love watching your videos and taking us on all your experiences!!!
Comes across as excessive and cringy actually.
i am 99% sure that the crab is called “atlantic red crab”.. i have eaten that often (even did a youtube video about it) but noticed they stopped selling it at any of my local stores here in northern va (usa) . i loved it.
Such fantastic buffet food as always Tim. Singapore never ceases to amazing with quality and service! The food presentation looks wonderful as well.
Two of everything!!! I LOVE IT! 🎉
...it added up in the end ;-)
Another fantastic looking buffet. Lots of different Asian flavors. I like this. Cheers, Tim and God Bless! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️🇨🇦

Thank you so much again and getting used to the humidity there 🙂
By far the best classy buffet video you made so far. Your production skill is so professional now.
I even like you made effort on a putting little bit a good foundation on your face. Goes well with environment.
Was your make-up done by pro?
Nice one Tim 😃👍👍
The buffet looks amazing. I am adding it to the list on my next visit. Thank you for the great review.
It’s quite grand… a very good time😋

I think they just opened and it was certainly nice to see what a spread they put out!
@@TimLeeLetsGo nice 😊 love the lobster tho that’s my favorite
Tim! Love your content as usual. That mysterious fruit is the Wax Apple!! it can be found in Vancouver sometimes at T&T but very expensive
Wax Apple! Thank you! It was tasty and I might have seen it from time to time, but I can imagine it's a bit pricey!

It was nice to visit one of the iconic places in singapore. Really enjoyed it and hope you had a great supper 😋
I love seafood especially oysters there really good if there huge. I think it’s worth it
The oysters were great... I would have asked for some in the laksa ;-)
When I thought you walked by the Lobster Bisque, I was so sad. 😂
Dude, I can't Remember the last time I seen you drink just water 😮
Pretty setting.
Yeah more beautiful video around the World !🧐✈️👏🆒👍🏻
Thank you so much and really grateful to get to visit the places and meet new friends.
Tim will never skip the lobster bisque
never ;-)
Tim,
Great video.
My god! The price is wow! as high as 988 SGD per person!
I’ve noticed that costs in Singapore is higher than those of other Asian countries
Wonderful mate
Thank you so much 🙏
Tim, Gosh just a few desserts 😊. I knew you would go for the pistachio ice cream. Amazing Buffet. They would have to roll me out. Best
Pistachio really is the favorite 😋
Wow, like a dream buffet. Really nice.
The buffets in Singapore are quite amazing.
Hi Tim, the one fruit you dont the name its call Rose Apple.
Yum!!!
😋
I really really liked all the food that you had... Maybe I'll go to Singapore... Maybe you will come to??
I would highly recommend Singapore... just watch out for the humidity. I'd go in a heartbeat once vacation days allow for it...
thank you
Ciao Tim 👋 👋
Greetings from Greenwich London ⚓️⛵️
Cheers 🦀🦞🦐🥢🍻😋👍🌹✅
Greetings to you and wishing you and yours a happy holidays
How awesome that you first called it the Mandarin Orange. Totally something I would do!!😅
It just rolled off the tongue 😉
It was delicious just to see you
You're very kind.. thank you!
we got to travel now and enjoy buffets before the Covid series returns.
Certainly a go to
Definitely a good place to try!
oH GEESH WHILE I WAS WATCHING the video somewhere is getting a thunderstorm lol
Mmm it all looks so yummy, especially the desserts. I would have to get most of the fresh fruit, except for the watermelon. 🤣🤣
The buffets in Singapore are quite amazing… I would definitely have more fruit as well
I wish you well!
Tim excellent dinner. Theirs one question I have for you, several videos ago you displayed a set of chop sticks and assembled them but I’ve yet to see you use them again. Tim did you misplace them? lol Tks for your continued display of fine buffets!!
Thank you again! Really enjoy getting to visit these places in Singapore ;-)
UA-cam has me all over the place. Saw a video earlier about people starvin like Marvin in the West Bank & now I’m watching one of people eating like kings in Singapore 😂
Oh man, it is tough to see everything going on in the world. Hopefully this is a bit of escapism and a little bit of respite to all the turmoil
Very nice 😅 🤠
that fruit is called Macopa in the Philippines.
Thank you so much! I don't think we get much of that in North America and very tasty!
Is that restaurant in Thailand, and I love your videos, and when is your next video? If you know, I'm just wondering
This is in Singapore. A great place to visit... aside from the humidity! ;-)
🙏 🙏 🙏 To the person reading this, even though I don't know you. I wish you the best of what life has to offer 🙏 🙌 😊❤
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year everyone reading this.

I needed that today's my birthday
@@TheTalisa1974 happy 🎂 😊🙌👍
@@TheTalisa1974happy birthday!!! You made another trip around the sun, that’s a pretty cool accomplishment.
👍👍👍👍👍😊
😃
Another nice video, but when r u going to visit Hong Kong?
I would love to visit Hong Kong... once the vacation days re-accumulate ;-)
Looks delicious but Tim, I swear I don’t know where you put it all!
It was very filling and the walk back home was an excruciating one😉
Tim, can you please try lobster esp steamed or poached in its most beloved state (eg drawn butter?)🙏 Adding any type of mayo sauce masks lobster's innate flavor
Would love to have a steamed lobster. I suspect Maine might be a good place to try 😋
yes, from New England and if you reach out will send you a list of best cheap eats for ubiquitous lobster in Maine @@TimLeeLetsGo
@@debrosenbloom1731 sounds good and just accumulating vacation time and hopefully can go in the new year
Hello Tim, just curious, How often do you have buffet a month?
Not too often, but only when traveling. It's nice to explore different places and I might have overdone it on this trip 😉
@@TimLeeLetsGo Because it amazes me that with so much buffet videos, you still look slim and good
Another great Buffet. Surprised they had a cooking station totally outside. Even in the few Vegas buffets that have outside seating the actual food tends to be inside and climate controlled. That way when you are sweating it's do to spicy heat 🥵🤣🤣🤣
Those poor chefs out there.. I think they're pretty used to it but I certainly was not used to the humidity... Usually just walking outside, I would be soaked and sweat to the point that the people at the hotel would ask if it was raining outside 😆
@@TimLeeLetsGo 🤣
You always get a nice variety of items. But, if you are what you eat - you will be growing claws soon. Ha, ha! Hello from a cold Corvallis Oregon.
I wouldn’t mind a little bit of the cold from Oregon at this point🙂
Tim! If you had to choose one buffet in Singapore, which one would it be - Colony (Ritz Carlton), Embu (Mandarin Oriental), or RISE (Marina Bay Sands)
The best buffet in Singapore is Triple Three at Mandarin Orchard, sadly closed already.
Very sad to hear 😔
Tim, what was that apple/pair fruit called that you had for dessert?
I believe that is a wax apple…very tasty
When will you visit the UK Tim?
Once the vacation time accumulates again, I would love to visit the UK 🙂. Many good friends and colleagues there as well
wo0w !!!!
Nice🎉😂❤
👇🇹🇭👍
Your Chinese "wife" is very gorgeous, knowledgeable and humble. Harry 😂
😮
Tim! What Mandarin Orange Hotel?? Is there a Mandarin Orange Hotel? In SG or any other countries?
Mandarin ORIENTAL Hotel, Not Mandarin ORANGE Hotel
I know :-D I didn't realize it when I said it but it rolls off the tongue so easily ;-)
Tim was the restaurant not air conditioned? For almost $135 CAD I would expect a/c.
The restaurant was certainly air conditioned, it was just me getting used to the humidity. I've noticed that even a 2-minute stint outside and I'll be drenched.. sweating. Many times when I return to the hotel, the staff asked if it was raining outside 😆
@@TimLeeLetsGo Ha ha. I guess Vancouver doesn't get too much humidity? We used to get intense humidity in Toronto, but it has decreased considerably due to climate change.
What do you do between videos to stay healthy after all this excess?
It's interesting how much one walks when traveling. I think the walking and exploring helps with counteracting all the food. There tends to be about 10 plus miles of walking a day just exploring the city
Hi tim I really feel bad to see you sweat like that 😢 but the food looked scrumptious hopeful you found some air conditioning 😅
I really couldn't get used to the humidity. It was air conditioned in the restaurant, but even after an hour or so, I was still sweating. I just couldn't imagine the chef's working out in the barbecue station would have felt 🙂
Уже время обеда😀
It’s a really nice buffet… Really enjoyable lunchtime or dinner time
Hahahaha NOT THE MANDARIN ORANGE hahaha
Dude... did you by any chance proofread your thumbnail?
Thank you so much 🙏 corrected
Do they yell at you if you ask for an extra slice of prime rib?
Absolutely not 😋
Are the alcoholic drinks included?
No, alcoholic drinks are not included, but regular drinks are
I dont know how you can eat so much seafood and then go on to few plates of warm food and dessert. Where do you put it all😅
I’ve been practicing.😉. Very good experience and the food was delicious. Thank you so much.
Mp and yqw 🤗
Hey Tim come to India for a real Indian buffet.
Really don't understand why tamago nigiri is a test considering it's so basic that it's hard to screw up 🙄
That was a recommendation from one of my friends. I’m still not sure how it works because they all taste pretty good to me.
Great video but as a Singaporean, MO's buffet is hardly iconic compared to many that are far more well known and established.
Thank you so much for reaching out and would love to know which places are well established...love exploring the country!
Hi Tim, for a similar mix such as MO's, you may check out some of the local's favourites: Colony at Ritz Carlton, Oscar's at Conrad Centennial, and Line at Shangri-La. Basilico at Conrad Orchard (former Regent) has a chilled room just for cheeses (the best selection in town) and has been around for over a decade. Since Singapore offers a diverse mix of cuisines, you may consider Penang Buffet at Copthorne Kings that's been there since the '70s; buffets with Nonya dishes include Ginger at Parkroyal on Beach Road and Ellenborough Market Café at Paradox; Man Fu Yuan at Intercontinental and Hai Tien Lo at Pan Pacific are popular for their à la carte weekend dim sum buffet. There are too many choices around. Enjoy! @@TimLeeLetsGo
Mandarin orange> lol
Im disappointed that you went for the western desserts and not try the local desserts
I should have tried those ...but I did get a chance later on 😋
I saw the other video, Ritz Carlton, you did have 2 kuehs (2 of my faves) but i wish you'd try more of them, they're unique and not easily available - i live in Australia, they're terribly hard to find and not authentic even if i managed to get them.
mandarin orange🤣
The way they put the sashimi salmon was very sloppy
I don't think this buffet is worth it's price
I should’ve just gone for the steak and lobster. Although all the dishes were very good
Wow this buffet was really interesting. Lots of different options. I would definitely take my time and try everything ▶️ ⏸️ ▶️
The buffets in Singapore are quite spectacular. Yes, taking your time is far more enjoyable.😀
