It's partly because the theme of the entire series revolves around witchcraft. It's not like a witch or wizard is a side character; the main character and every side character in Harry Potter are witches, warlocks, demons, etc.

I really appreciate your personal understanding and sharing where you are and your convictions through the Holy Spirit. That's so important. Each one has to examine for themselves by way of the Holy Spirit, what's ok for them before God. I've never read the books, only the movies, and I waited years before I felt like I could, and I waited for my daughter to come of age and had conversations with her about it prior to her reading then watching. And I'm happy I did.
I agree that ppl have to separate what their true personal convictions are from things other ppl make them feel bad about engaging in, but I don't necessarily think that not being able to read something like Harry Potter has anything to do with a person's spiritual maturity. I agree that we just need to follow our own convictions because even the most mature Christian may feel convicted about reading it. I just wouldn't want anyone to think that feeling bad about reading Harry Potter means they aren't mature enough as a Christian. I love this conversation though! 👌🏾👏🏾

I used to be into Harry Potter when I was younger because it was so popular but now that I know the truth behind it I no longer partake in watching it or reading the books, witchcraft is real and I chose not to support anything that promotes it or glorifies it in any way real or “fiction”. The Bible says suffer not a witch to live so I do not read the books or watch the movies because I don’t want to open the door to those spirits.
