"Cold sores are by their nature viral." Such an excellent response by the king. Damn.
THAT was quick thinking. 👌
@@adl0815 More like good writing
that was epic. no hesitation
His father is a famous microbiologist/immunologist, he sure must be proud
Too much talent!!! That was great!
Of course he doesn't like The Joker. He's Batman.
10/10
"Badman"
I was not a fan of joker either
He also, when his hair's long enough, does a pretty good impression of Heath Ledger's Joker, which is now less viable at kid's parties.
@@ericmiller8596 YOU try making a DC villain origin story!
"Cold sores are by their nature, viral." It literally doesn't get any quicker in late night than Conan's wit.
Nikita Elizarov stuck huh?
@@nikitaelizarov7444 *Hadn't stuck a comma...and don't call me Shirley.
Craig Ferguson’s wit was amazing. Miss his show so much
Pete was either already doing the punchline with the question, or setting it up for Conan. His response felt more like spelling out a subtle joke than a display of quick wit.
There's one guy I know of who makes the late night rounds (through panel shows), and is incredibly quick witted.
It's the British comedian, Lee Mack.
Nobody else.
I love how outwardly devoid of cynicism he is. Like I have no way of knowing how truly genuine this is but he does seem like he’s just so excited to be on a tv show and talking to these funny guys and telling jokes and he’s just having a blast, it’s infectious. Conan and Andy are at work, but Pete’s a kid in a candy store.
if you watch his stand up then you know hes a really good guy, his humor is like peak dad jokes and he laughs at his own jokes to where its infectious
Crowd is weak, I thought his little set was hilarious. As someone who visits friend in Colorado that story was 100% true
100% this actually got me interested in seeing his stand up
Meh. There were funny parts, but felt like he was trying too hard.
Same lol. And I went on a hike there, imagine how many times elevation was brought up
He’s really funny. Very quick. Hits you with a joke and moves on. I like him.
As a Denverite, I have to kind of agree. But, in fairness, a lot of my out of town visitors claim the altitude makes them feel fatigued for a day or two. The "Illuminati" airport bit made me smile. They've got some odd, weirdly aggressive murals at DIA, and I won't even go into Blucifer, the devil horse sculpture.
I agree with Pete. You can dislike things that aren’t for you, while still respecting the opinions of others who do like something.
You don’t need to love everything. And you don’t need to make your own cake before you can criticize.
Shut up
take it easy captain obvious
He's 100% right on the irishman and de niro's weird old man movements and kicking
Conezies O’Breezies!
It’ll catch on!
De Niro walked like that in The Irishman because it was filmed in Denver
You bake a cake!!! Try it!
De Niro didn’t drink the water his Uber driver offered him
"can you handle it... FLAT LANDER!!!!" lmao
I appreciate Pete, even though the crowd doesn't.
Conan appreciates Pete, even though TBS doesn't.
Cause he is a garbage comic.
That crowd was a bunch of liberals .
xxBODYCOUNTxx Hey YOU MAKE A CAKE
That entire altitude bit had me in tears.
Conan's wit is sharp as ever. I've watched Conan since I was a kid. He was me and my mom's special "thing." Never stop doing what you do man.
When he talks and yells his mouth moves like Christian Bale's Batman does.
"where are all the drugs goingg"
"What about Harvey Dent... can we trust him?"
literally what's been going on my mind watching him talk. XD
You COULD "thrust" him...but, would you REALLY want to, though?
@@robertdavis3036 lol my bad
Was looking for this comment, not disappointed
With the skills...THAT I LEARNED IN THE MOUNTAINS!!
that exact scene Pete holmes is talking about is my one and only issue with the irishman they really should have hired young actors for the younger versions of the characters
SuperDestroya His shuffle killed me
Netflix is out of budget xD
So the part where it was Jimmy Hoffa's son the one who knowingly drove him to be murdered didnt bother you ?
Because that was the one that completely didnt made any sense for me😂
jlbueno0611 the son prolly didnt know everything
@@rosshristan1396 so you stay at a house where the guys who you know are the killers that the boss always hires when the boss wants to shop and disappear a body , and helps prep the house with plastic in the entrance or any area where it might be needed , and then you drive to pick up your dad and his friend and drive them back to the house, and leave,( knowing about the feud and the threats of the past few days) without telling your dad about it...yea no..that didnt fly in the story..that was completely rushed detail that in a mafia movie looks just lazy
Pete Holmes having controversial opinions that Conan's audience do not like and talking about Illuminati. Is he hanging out with Bill Burr? xd
Sad Stormtrooper that’s exactly what I thought
Conan's favorite kind of people ;)
Sad Stormtrooper Honestly, he probably was
seriously tho the Denver airport looks like a conspiracy theory museum
I don’t know, but I love the guy. So genuine
It makes sense that Pete wouldn’t be the biggest fan of Joker when he is a member of the Batman alumni.
His De Niro fight scene was spot on! Lol. I've only recently discovered Pete. UA-cam suggested his street fighter interviews which apparently are now 8 yrs old.
DeNiro looked ridiculous kicking that guy on the ground.
@Nripesh Dhungana it was pretty bad
@Nripesh Dhungana Watch it again. It was bad.
It was bad for sure :D
Nripesh Dhungana it looked horrible
@Nripesh Dhungana I literally just watched it so it was fresh in mind mind... the moment he gets out of the building it's all over. He even HESITATES when kicking him and then hovers his foot tentatively over it. It's clear it's an old man fake-kicking someone. It was _really_ bad.
How delightfully awkward the beginning of this was 😂
Yeah Andy was lost for words there for a bit
Painful
“You guys seein the gems?” 😂😂😂
"you guys see uncut?"
Every time I look down
@@harryallsopp9136 So you just walk around naked all the time?
@@archstanton313 ALL NATURAL BABY
Something I will say about TheJoker movie...
Out of all the movies I've seen before, it was definitely one them.
@The Derp Knight 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That whole cold sore thing got really awkward, Conan for the save!
That’s why Pete’s show got canceled
IMPERIAL yup
Dirg Ramsey lmaoooo 10000 percent
Ok that Denver story was spot on!! I was there last month and I’m remembering now that everyone mentioned the altitude in a condescending way. Pete you’re the best I love you. 😘
And their weirdly amazing airport.
Pete does a great "dumb guy heckler".
Ahhh Pete Holmes is so great. He has nice chemistry with Conan too. I love that
Pete’s enthusiasm gets him through some bad sets really smoothly sometimes.
Nah it's his ability to quickly repackage his jokes for dumber ppl.
This may be the most polite heckle ever.
Dang, Pete is on top of his game! Glad to see that
I agree with him wholeheartedly, De Niro's eyes and walk was always a little "off" in the movie
@Agent Knight I would have been fine with him using other actors to portray the younger versions of all the characters.
4:25 Conan catching a ghost then eat it
WTF was that LOL
Exactly at 1:04 ,all those years of Harvard education revealed themselves in a majestic way . 🙌🙌🙌 bravo
jlbueno0611 it sounded like a Jordan Schlansky line😂
I've been binge watching Pete video's all week now XD awesome to see him on Conan in present day :P XD
I loved his show. I wish they never canceled it.
It wasn’t cancelled they just decided to end it
That's some weird doublespeak, my man. lol@@noelmalik5018
For real, I really like the "You make a cake!" character. How can you not be on his side? He's a dynamic, hardworking professional who stands up for himself. Plus you know he's beholden to Burger King's corporate power structure in a way that mitigates the company's employees' desires to express themselves through culinary art. He didn't go to chef school hoping to end up working for Burger King's development office. He's a complex working man of bitter compromise with a storied life.
I like this new bold Pete Holmes
He tends to be fairly opinionated on his podcast. He hates Superman for some reason.
@@Fettclone1 I'll have to check that out
HanM well Superman is lame af if you think about it. Very poor character creation imo
@@Fettclone1 because he is batman duh
In the conan podcast, Conan talked about seeing Pete in an empty theater. He didn't name the film back then and just said it was a very popular film. Now that we know it's Once upon a time, I bet it was Timothy Olyphant who had a lunch with conan after the movie.
His movie/cake joke is like the rebuttal to Mulaney's "I would buy a ticket just to SEE that much money"
Pete Holmes is like the cheesey in-law you don’t like at first, but then you gradually start to appreciate.
I feel so proud of myself for having the exact same response as Conan to Pete’s viral question
I love how he believes you use yeast to make a cake. Now that should be the viral moment lmao.
I need to checkout Uncut Gems. Everyone is raving about it.
That is exactly what should set off alarm bells. Sasha Baron Cohen has some acting range (The Spy). Sandler does not. Guaranteed crap. Looks like a cheezy Al Pacino impression.
"You C level bitch!" Hahahaha laughed so hard at that
The actors and directors of “The Irishman” were well aware of the actions and movements of the characters during filming as they discussed the times that they had to redo some scenes because the actors were not moving as spry as their screen ages should be. They talk/joke about it in the follow up short film “The Irishman In conversation” on Netflix
People need to start telling Scorcese "no".
What he said about the irishmen.... spot on LOL
"Harvey Dent, Can we trust him?"
I overfed these men?
I hope we get more of Crashing its it was such a great show.
I've missed "You make a cake!"
Classic Pete!
I could NOT handle Denver altitude. I was messed up for 2 days
he is absolutely right about that de niro fight scene in irishman. i was like wtf are they doing looool
That's interesting. I've lived in Colorado my whole life (30 years) and I have never once mentioned the altitude to someone else from out of state. Only times it has crossed my mind was while climbing a 14'er mountain, or in sports conversation about the ball flying further in thin air (like for field goals). My parents have mentioned it from time to time though. I wonder if it is an older generation thing here?
And as for movies, I think most people have realized that a lot of movies that the critics give awards to not favorites to the public. Like La La Land. A lot of people I know didn't like it yet it got all kinds of awards.
Everyone gets to have an opinion though.
"i for one have never mentioned the altitude to"... oh stfu its a joke
He's totally right about people who live in high places. I've lived at sea level my entire life and the one time I visited SLC people there seemed surprised I wasn't having trouble in their thinner air. 😁
I'm from Utah and it's weird how they teach you that fact here so heavily. I went to Tampa in April and realized how bullshit it kind of is. Air is air, but in salt lake air is mostly actually smog.
Conan with one of the quickest improv punch lines ever. Impressed!
I like that he says he’s not a movie critic but has strong opinions on the Irishman and probably the joker ... funny funny man
That crowd was not having his criticisms but he really brought them around and salvaged it. Great comedian improvisation there
This is such a golden clip, needs more views
Making Pete laugh is such a rewarding thing
just discovering this guy for myself. hilarious. gonna check out his standup now
Check out the Pete Holmes show n his Badman portrayal on College Humor, i envy u that u still have all his halarity to see for the first time!!
Haha I love you Pete Holmes. Your laughs are always contagious. 🤣❤🇵🇭
1:04 Conan turns into Jordan Schlansky
Pete's snarky old lady smile kills me.
This guy is reall good! I dig his humor.
Lol. Love all these guys. Pete is so awesome.
I was thinking the same thing😂😂😂😂😂😂
1:31 "Across the street they were showing Once Upon a Time in ... uh ... Hollywood." Dude, you were IN Hollywood.
LOL I turned off the Irishman at the exact same time. That scene was just....
I heard people joking about it, so I had to watch that scene. Youd think somebody that day would've told Scorcese everything in that scene looked awkward
I love the TLDR he did at the end there.
4:42 he sounded like Adam Sandler lol
I wish he still had a show
I respect Pete so much more for making fun of Irishman because that is exactly what everyone is saying off air.
No one has more fun than Pete
1:01 pure comic genius
Oh god the beginning was one of the most awkward TV moments of all time
4:10 Gumpy walk attack
"How You Hanging In There, Thin Air Up Here......Can You Handle It...Can You Handle It Flat Lander!!!"
"It's High Level Altitude, Drink Both Of Those Bottles Of Water Bitch"
😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😂😂😂😂
Finally!! Voice of reason
love this guy.... 🤣
I like Pete. He is a good guy. I like Conan too. So I absolutely love this video. Thank you :)
I kept thinking it was 'sore throat' for some reason. I didn't get it till Conan commented at it in the end.
I was on the fence with this guy, never really saw his stuff. After watching this, I sorta like him. He seems like a genuine dude. And like others have stated, these two have good chemistry
I love that Pete Holmes referenced the conspiracy theories about Denver's airport, even though no one seemed to get it.
4:53
Conan’s Brain: Do we have a BK Sponsorship though?
As someone from Denver I can confidently say that all of Pete's observation are 100% true.
i love Pete Holmes, him and conan are always great together
"I arrived at their weird, illuminati airport. Took a left at a mural of a forgotten massacre." 😂
Pete should have told the heckler "You do the stand-up and play Badman, then you get to criticize it."
I felt it when he made fun of De Niro’s fighting skills. The movie was great but it felt weird when he was kicking the guy who hit his daughter when his back was literally bent
Those kicks looked so weak. It really illustrated that DeNiro is an old man now. No disrespect, he's still awesome, but he's not a convincing middle-aged man anymore.
Feel like he wasnt gettin the respect he deserves. He gave them some comedy gold and they could care less
That thumbnail though.
Conan's head must be at least 17 inches long with his hair.
Denver isn't even *that* high. Well elevation from the sea-level wise at least.
Pete seems especially coked up here. I love it.
I laughed my ass off during the fight scene! I thought it was just me til' I heard everyone else bashing on it.
Pete:”You Can’t CGI a Body”
me:Has he Not Seen Steve Rogers Pre Super Serum in Captain America:The 1st Avenger?
To be fair, the movie title is based on Sergio Leone movie titles (Once Upon a Time in the West, Once Upon a Time in America...), so it does help to specify beyond just “Once Upon a Time.”
That's fair, but also, what other Once Upon A Time has been in news and advertisements this year?
Pete does have a thing for unnecess abbrev's though
Haaaa I was at his show in Denver
Andy Ricther, James Corden and Patton Oswald must all vie for the same acting roles.
the problem with that last joke pete is that the cabin is pressuriiiized aheee!
That Cold Sore Viral joke sounded like an improv. I'd like to think that it wasn't scripted
Those oreo pies are great.
This made me a new Pete Holmes fan
