Honestly, I don't think the direction of both Martin or Chris would have change. Many would agree that Rock needed the role more seeing that Martin landed his own show which was what blew him up in Hollywood. Martin actually did the right thing by stepping away and getting his head right after Mr. Harris's death. At the end of the day, I'm sure both Martin and Rock are both satisfied on how their careers turn out.

It's crazy how things play out. Martin Lawrence had this role on lock and had won the job, but Robin Harris death had such an impact on Martin that he had to step away which opened the door for Chris Rock and now, we can't imagine anyone playing the role of Pookie but him. If Robin Harris doesn't die, Martin never steps down from the role, and Chris Rock loses out. That's just crazy. Smh!
