As a white boy from the UK (who bought Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em! LoL!), I can believe that!
I mean, I can believe he didn't have to lift a finger to get stuff sorted out! His entourage was always enormous apparently!
And I also heard that his brother (Louis?) was affiliated with the colour blue, and held a fairly high rank! 😐🤔😬
And as Redman says in his interview with Vlad, "Hammer and his brother handled _fuckin' business",_ whenever business needed to be fuckin' handled! Ya feel me? ✌🏻😉👍🏻
But yeah, I was a totally oblivious 10/11year old when I listened to MC Hammer... I wouldn't understand the gangster side of things until a few years later, when I was about 15/16 and listening to Cypress Hill, NWA, Ice Cube, 2 Live Crew, Snoop Dogg, Eazy-E, Ice T and so on... (Whilst also listening to Nirvana, GnR, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Pantera, etc. etc.)
I was 11 years old at the time! 😂

Major respect for his modesty & solid work in that regard. Now we know what he meant by "Can't touch this."

Probably. 2pac had that New York/Baltimore/East Coast mindset before moving west. He even said in an interview he didn't realize the game until he moved to the Bay where everyone was moving the same and following the rules and regulations of the game. I'm sure Hammer wasn't the only person to give him a reality check out west. He definitely learned what the West Coast was really about with how hard his was riding for California during his career.

Shame on you for comparing a groomed, sexual predator to a genuine OG who has zero accusations of sexual assault against him. Big Marv did, but not Hammer. I'm from Oakland and when Hammer's record dropped in '86, Oaktown popped off and he was everywhere. I was at the show in '88 and the vibe was unreal. Gangbangers from opposite sides in one club. It was terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. And TooShort worked that crowd like nobody's business. Good memories of Oakland when there was respect for the Town and the real players who earned their cred.
