Also, they took offense if you didn't join them. Dude, people were dying. It was crazy like '85-'86. When Hammer came out with his underground tape: "Feel My Power", he was making money on the streets. He was an easy target. He walked around the Northside - freely - NO ONE messed with him - at all! Too bad for MC Search...he hasnt realized that his therapy that s needed is redemption for himself with a simple apology but that pride wont let him be free. Until he does that as a man he will be in vain fear mentally. Hamma clearly spelled it out that the lyric wasnt a joke and quite personal to him yet MC Search undermines the matter.
25 years of useless therapy and at what point do you see...IT AINT WORKING!!

@@Dee-zy2xv An apology is the high road, yes. But, think about the fact that a rap lyric is responded to by a death threat! And summons an entire crew to carry it out.

As a white boy from the UK (who bought Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em! LoL!), I can believe that!
I mean, I can believe he didn't have to lift a finger to get stuff sorted out! His entourage was always enormous apparently!
And I also heard that his brother (Louis?) was affiliated with the colour blue, and held a fairly high rank! 😐🤔😬
And as Redman says in his interview with Vlad, "Hammer and his brother handled _fuckin' business",_ whenever business needed to be fuckin' handled! Ya feel me? ✌🏻😉👍🏻
But yeah, I was a totally oblivious 10/11year old when I listened to MC Hammer... I wouldn't understand the gangster side of things until a few years later, when I was about 15/16 and listening to Cypress Hill, NWA, Ice Cube, 2 Live Crew, Snoop Dogg, Eazy-E, Ice T and so on... (Whilst also listening to Nirvana, GnR, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Pantera, etc. etc.)

Hammer was the only artist to walk away from Suge Knight’s without Drama whatsoever. Think of Dre went through with Suge, think of what Snoop went through with Suge (Suge sent some Bloods down to New Orleans to deal with Snoop when Snoop signed with No Limit) Suge Knight with Hammer when he wanted out of Death Row: Suge: “Is there anything I can do to expedite this process quicker, and would you like some money for your troubles ?”
      😳😨🫣

So, instead of MC Serch clearing the air when Mc Hammer called in, he chose to be an a-hole, if i heard correct, and talk stuff. Actin like Hammer was the one acting unmanly abt it, when THEY were the ones who chose the line intentionally. They knew exactly what they were doing, they knew what that line would sound like but wasnt prepared for Hammer to be abt that work. Now he wanna act all traumatized.

He even said in an interview he didn't realize the game until he moved to the Bay where everyone was moving the same and following the rules and regulations of the game. I'm sure Hammer wasn't the only person to give him a reality check out west. He definitely learned what the West Coast was really about with how hard his was riding for California during his career.

I'm from Oakland and when Hammer's record dropped in '86, Oaktown popped off and he was everywhere. I was at the show in '88 and the vibe was unreal. Gangbangers from opposite sides in one club. It was terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. And TooShort worked that crowd like nobody's business. Good memories of Oakland when there was respect for the Town and the real players who earned their cred.
