Morning Colin. Sorry to hear about your gout. Couldn’t be worse timing with the weather being nice, for a change! I also use eBay for some of my purchases but, due to past experience, I’m very wary of sellers with less than 100% positive feedback as getting things sorted out has proved very difficult, time consuming or impossible with some of them. Get well soon & I hope you manage to find a solution to the rack fitting. Keep us posted 👍
Morning John, yes it's typical, you wait for months for a bit of decent weather and then a gout attack, oh well hopefully it shouldn't last long, I've been buying off eBay since 2012, and never had a problem, but unfortunately there's always a seller somewhere that really has no care or respect for his customers, unfortunately it seems to be the way the worlds going these days, I'm sure sooner or later I'll have a play with the rack and sort it out ........Colin 😊
I didn't want to suggest this, as you're the guy that teaches me, so to speak & assume you've tried this....but I have a rack for my Meteor that has a very similar mounting arrangement. I found if I fitted both of the back (grab rail) bolts first, then I could see where the shock absorber mounts lined- up & adjust from there (bending the legs in or out). Hope this helps. Hi John, yes and that makes perfect sense, and I'm glad you suggested it, unfortunately for me the whole rack is so far out of true that even the tow holes that are supposed to line up with the grab rail is about 15mm out, 😮, I need to take it apart and start again ......Colin ☺️
