      @skydive vibes I am from Germany so I got my licence after 25 jumps. From here on my progress is only monitored by the amount of jumps I do. I am at 66 right now and the next level is ~100 from where I am allowed to talk to a experienced skydiver who can coach me using a camera (GoPro) etc. For all other specialities Heli/ night etc there are recommendations from the German USCPA (DFV) when you can do it. But the DZ boss is always in charge and can decide if you have a go or not.
      Once you reach (250 I think) you can make an additional trainers licence which allows you to official start telling solo jumpers what they can do...but not aff students for that you need a special aff teacher licence...
      But as you see 66 jumps I am fairly new so I have still a lot to learn;)

      @Skydive Vibes. B license 170ish jumps. Fun fact, many don’t know or think about it. but after 100 jumps you can do a FJC for tracking suits and start flying a tracking suit. I did it at jump 130 or so at skydive Perris with Scotty Bob and now am flying the Squirrel, Sausage too tracking suit and having a blast!!!
      I motivated a few skydivers to follow the same path :) 💪🏼👍🏼

My rigger friend told me I can print out some paperwork from the USPA website and get them signed off by a certified instructor to sort of side step the canopy course. I’m thinking of doing it that way and then taking a canopy course this summer that way I can start doing night jumps this spring 😏

    Another great video! Perhaps it may be an opportunity however to also discuss the progression of the CSPA as there are indeed nuanced differences. More so, I feel it could be beneficial to clarify some confusion I noticed some DZ having between the progressions, while I had the pleasure of adding another country to my logbook when I went home this past June for my brother's wedding.
    In particular, while it's true the CSPA's A license doesn't permit jumping with others (unless it's with a coach), it's not because they have more stringent requirements; it's because the CSPA A license omits the 2 key categories (G and H) present in the USPA A license, which are all about skills necessary for jumping with others (such as fall rate control, tracking etc.).

    • @SkydiveVibes
      @SkydiveVibes  4 роки тому

      That is right. I'll try to clarify that at some point. Thanks. I am preparing a series for the CSPA so stay tuned. ;)

      Hey, is that the DZ offering jumps out of a biplane? While I was at ChutingStar in GA for my FAA Sr Rigger's Cert, Laura mentioned going to a DZ in TN for such a jump; sounds super cool!
      PS: To any who may be considering their FAA Sr Rigger's Cert, I'd highly recommend ChutingStar's program; by the time you leave there, you'll have had the opportunity to pack most of the rigs currently available on the market, learned a ton from an incredibly knowledgeable Master Rigger, score some cool swag/gear, and made connections with other Riggers, from whom to bounce ideas.

    • @keeponwishin
      @keeponwishin 2 роки тому +1

      A couple reasons. First off, a camera poses an entanglement hazard with the parachute system as well as other skydivers’ parachute systems, and the rule is in place to allow enough awareness and know how to both prevent an accident and what to do if an emergency arises. Secondly, a camera also poses a distraction hazard to a new skydiver only focusing on “getting the shot” rather than on their position in the sky and their altitude.

    It's different at least in germany (and maybe so it is in europe). Here you just get one license and for further privileges you just have to get qualifications by doing instructor jumps. So for example you need to get a relative work qualification to do group jumps.

Then certification for group jumping but only on our belly, certification for sitfly and tracking, another one for freeflying including head-down, one for precision landing competition, one for canopy relative work, a two-level certification for swooping, a three-level one for wingsuit, and of course certifications to be allowed to issue all those certifications. You also have to do a special formation to be allowed to do tandem videos. Then there is a whole bunch of different monitor rating. • @keeponwishin
      @keeponwishin 2 роки тому

      It depends on your program. Many places will allow you to go solo your first jump. Other places may require you to do one or two tandems before your first solo jump. Also, with the relatively recent prevalence of wind tunnels, some DZs located nearby may recommend or require a certain amount of tunnel time prior to jumping. As an experienced instructor I’d recommend, if you’re close to one, 5 or 10 minutes in the wind tunnel is a huge help, and do at least one tandem prior to starting your licensing program.
