Super helpful. Broke my foot in 7 places on my second landing. Watching these to give me confidence to land when I heal. It would be super helpful if you put when you flared the different stages on the approach. Thanks!

Outstanding. It may be worthwhile to see if you can do a split screen view of your POV and simultaneous video from the ground in order to see both the POV and your actual flare. Failing that, a voice over “Stage One....Stage Two.” Were it not for travel restrictions I would volunteer to be your videographer on the ground. Ah, this is the end of October. How about next season? Perhaps you could travel to Chicagoland Skydiving Center in Rochelle, IL.

I just got my A license after starting the AFF course early summer. You're videos motivated, educated, and helped me so much going into the progression. This video was especially important, because it was only fear I had when I started the course, the landing. I watched these over and over, listening and watching everything and I walked out so many of my landings. Thank you for making this, you made this journey so much easier!

In the same vein - on your next video - could you do a entire jump from your exit to the landing from your camera as a first person POV with just the natural wind sounds etc. that would be awesome to see. thanks heaps!

The last landing was what I was doing too much of on no wind landings and finally found my point for the flare and touchdown and now my Pilot canopy is really more fun to fly and land even in no wind days. There was something in my timing from my previous jumping days back in the 90s when I had a Raven 3 versus the canopy’ of today with my Pilot 210. Thanks for the great videos, they have really helped me along getting back into the sport.

@@SkydiveVibes my homebase is in Germany, the town called Bruchsal, and my skydiving Club called FSC Bruchsal.
This year I had a few bad/hard landings, because my eyes have turned bad, and I didn't noticed it immediately. A big problem was, that I became unsure for the flare, and often I flared too late or only half, what does the landings not better.
I detected, that the Problem were my eyes and I went immediately to the eye doctor.
As I got my new contact lenses, the view was different like before and I had to "learn" the landings/the flare time new 😂. At this time, I saw your last landing Video, which helped me so much.

i am not a skydiver at all. i fly a cessna and watching the video clip i was thinking that when you flare your chute are you converting vertical travel into horizontal travel and bleeding the speed off as i do with the cessna. eg final approach glide path holding speed above stall of wing then on flare converting speed into a balance of lift and drag to delay wheels touching ground. ps love the vidios you could call me a virtual skydiver with over 300 jumps by sitting on my sofa .

What kind of canopy & what wing loading? Looks more like my landings under a rented Pilot loaded around 1.1 - my canopy is Sabre2 loaded around 1.3, & I flare late most of the time. Unless I intentionally try to flare high, then I do flare high, lose airspeed, & the canopy doesn't want to shut down.

@@alexislopez2287 yes they are basically the same but the Ares has a bigger screen and it is made of Aluminium instead of plastics. Great video and nice tips. I find it a bit hard though to estimate when you start your flare in many videos as there's a bit of a lag between the flare and the wind noise reduction. Though saying it video 13 is pretty good as you can see your shadow on the ground and it seems like you start the flare roughly at around the tree level if I'm not mistaken. Thanks again!

When you go to your first stage, it can help to bring your elbows up behind you slightly rather than keeping them next to your ribs. Then, make your 2nd stage motion more like a chinup than a tricep extension, which will give you more power. Doing lat pulldowns and any tricep/bicep lifts at the gym will also help.

Hi Catherine, The BEST video AND Detailed instruction on flaring and landing I have seen in the past 5 years. Thank you for putting it on U tube. With all the injuries that happen on landing there should be hundred's of flaring video's, YOUR THE BEST, Keep up the good work.

Just quietly... this video would’ve saved me a sore and bruised anus bone, tail feather sprain, bouncy rolly polly landing a couple of weeks ago... thank you for the vid 😉😁 and now to practice twinkle toe landings 😆
