Paul Rodriguez, also known as “P-Rod” was recognized as a prodigy at the young age of 14, only two years after he started skating. His consistency, effortless style and persistence on his board led Paul to travel far from his home town of Northridge, CA to the City Streets around the world as a part of the legendary City Stars team. His passion for skating and filming with his friends led to his breakout part in Logic 6 in 2000, Street Cinema in 2001 and landed him Rookie of the Year in 2002 for his part in Tranworld’s video production “In Bloom.” He turned pro later that year.
Paul bought his first skateboard at the age of 12. When he’s not skateboarding, Paul enjoys studying the lives of influential individuals, including his favorites such as Alexander the Great and Bruce Lee.
Paul currently lives in Los Angeles.

I was always buying skate shoes off the sale racks but these were the first SB's I ever got and I remember saving and saving to afford them. I was 15 years old and at the time for me, that was my hardest flex at school and at the local park. From the laces to the sock liner and tongue, they were the most comfortable and the dopest sneaker I ever owned. I skated them to oblivion and I sure wish I would have hung on to them. I would love to get me another pair and rock em as a Dad who still skates but they are pricey and hard to find. Thanks P-Rod for designing these and defining an era for me and some of the best skating memories I cherish forever. My son is 2 months old and I can't wait for the day he is ready to skate!

@MrChopTop the collabs!! Yeah man, my local shop was "Willy's Workshop" owned by pro skater Willy Santos and they had the best sale racks. Dunks for $40 at times. My have times changed, the only shoes on sale these days are vans lol.

The P-Rod 2’s are probably the most memorable shoe I’ve ever had and still have. My first trip to Barcelona, the shoes I had were pretty much fallen apart so my next purchase were your 2’s and my first time skating Nikes. My whole month skating in Barcelona was in your shoe and have so many photos still of your green colour way in the footage and shots. Soon as I saw the green colour way in the front the memories came flooding back. Thank you P-Rod for ever lasting memories and one of the best skate shoes of all time. The Goat

The P-Rod 2 was the shoe that got me into sneakers. Paul, you have no idea what you did for me with the sneakers. The P-Rod 3 is my all time favorite.

Hands down my favorite shoes to skate, on foot they just fit perfect, had no trouble skating and probably saved my ankles from getting rolled, super comfortable and the style to this day are legit nice
as a life-long nike head who loved the art of skateboarding, it blew my mind when you dropped your first pro shoe, so of course i copped those as soon as i saw them in ccs. but the 2s... damn. these hold a special place in my heart. i'm not a sneakerhead whatsoever, but i copped four pairs of these (not all at once, of course, as i was a teen just struggling to get by).
i vividly remember going to my local skate shop and copping the og white leather ones. rocked the hell out of them till i couldn't any more. throughout the next weeks/months, every time i'd visit the shop and see a new colorway, i couldn't help but get them. i copped the black and gold ones two sizes too big, because it was the only pair they had. i still rocked those like it was nothing. when i copped the playstation pair, i thought they were some of the cleanest kicks i'd ever owned. but the easter ones... those were a game changer. as someone who strictly wore dark colors (with a huge white tee being the only exception), i always gravitated towards solid colored kicks. these easter ones just grabbed my eyes and pulled me in. i felt like i finally found myself and my steeze, rocking so many colors that i never would have before, just to match the outfit. still have that pair to this day. i don't rock them, but i have it in my collection for sentimental value.
it's always hard for me whenever people ask "what's your favorite _____?". i've owned a pair from 1-10, but i think the easter 2s might be my all-time favorite in the whole line

i had just started skating and these were my first pair of nike sb's, i got the lavas colorway. they came in a gold box and i skated them until my foot was flopping out the side of them. i learned so much in these shoes, hard flips, 3 flips etc. everyone in my middle school was kicking it in these too. such a dope time, this shoe will always have a special place in my life. thanks prod!
2007 was the year I graduated. Saved up a couple checks from my first job. The day after high school went to LA (from DFW Texas) to skate with my friend who was from there so he could show me all the spots from his childhood and the videos we loved. Bought 2 pairs of P-Rod 2’s at Valsurf and Jeron Wilson, one of my childhood idols, was there shopping. We didn’t bother him or anything but we were so hype. One of the best times of my life and forever my favorite shoes. Super comfy and hella good looking.

Still got my J Rod 2s boxed up in my collection. Bought 2 pairs for skating and saving! Just missing a P Rod autograph. Ever time I went to a signing, I never made it on time back in the day. Someday though 🐐 ✍🏽 thanks for the video content GOAT! Greatest period of skateboarding in my opinion!
PRod 2 is still my favorite shoe till this day! The look, the feel just an all around perfect shoe! Got too many pairs to count lol
Hands down best skate shoe I ever owned!!!! I had the prod2s black with the white gum sole and gold Nike symbol. You were able to rock those shoes with any fit.
I wasn’t a skater until COVID started, but I always had skating in the back of my mind as something I wanted to try one day, and that honestly started when I was a kid seeing other kids with these dope ass skate shoes and Prod was one of the first names I ever associated with the sport and, and has been such an inspiration for me these past couple years

Back in like January of 2007, I got my first pair of p-rods. The p-rod 1 cave purple/black (still have a pair new in box). My mom said i couldn't have them until my birthday in June! Every single day, I would sneak into her closet when she wasn't home and I would just stare at them. That was a long 6 months. My second pair was the first white p-rod2s. After that, I was obsessed. I had so many pairs of p-rods. 1s and 2s. Skated the shit out of all of them and studied every detail of them. I was always obsessed with skate shoes and p-rods just intensified my obsession. Such awesome shoes with amazing detail. I still have many pairs new in the box that i saved and my best friend has every colorway of 1s and 2s. His closet is slap full. We could tell you everything you need to know about p-rod 1s, 2s and 3s. Even things you don't know about your own shoe.😂 By the way, you may not remember, but you hid a secret message inside of every pair of p-rod 2 on the primo plate. You have to cut the shoe apart to find it. Is says "Nothing is impossible for him who will try. -Alexander the Great-" In an old interview with James Arizumi, you mentioned that y'all hid a secret message in the shoe, but you doubted anyone would ever find it. Best believe I was on it! The best memories of my life, I was wearing p-rods. Thanks paul.
inbloom transworld changed my life yo. ihavent skated in abour 3 years. i still got it. ima start up again just been hard to get a deck i got trucks tho first step. put out more videos fam this video was sick

That's an iconic shoe for an iconic time in skateboarding. Lowkey miss the bulkier shoes, I feel like there was more style back in those time and more variety with shoes. I hope Nike does a rerelease one day soon.
Had the black and gold ones back in the day, for sure my favorite shoe of yours. I never saw the black / gum ones before, would have bought those if I saw them back then.

I’m wearing my pair tomorrow. I have the original CW of the PRod 2s. Had a pair when I was in high school and beat tf out of em as my daily and skate pair. Few years ago got into sneakers and found a pair of these to relive those times. Big fan since ‘07 man love the content

That was a quick 11+ minutes. I can't have enough of these. I've still pairs in my collection. The brown orange at front is the only pair that I rock with. Very regret that I didn't double up the high top black with embody with your face at the back heel part. One of the best and favourite of the era.

The ones and twos are a couple of my favorite shoes of all time. Would love to have them get a reissue. They were around when I was first starting to get decent at skating. Would love to wear them again after all these years later of skating

I had those high tops in like year 5 or 6 and they were the BEST shoes all round they were supportive comfy and have always wanted to get another pair, hands down favourite all time shoe!!
I have to give myself credit here and say, the first time I saw P Rod was in his debut City Stars 🌟 part and I knew right then and there, this kid was some sort of prodigy. Although there are many incredible skaters today, P Rod has some true innate talent that is truly 1 in a million, it doesn’t surprise me at all that Nike has given him so many shoe models!
My first pair of sb’s I ever skated. The best Christmas 2007 present under the tree I swear. I also swooped up the brown elephant print zoom tre that Christmas break.

I still have the Jordan inspired P. Rod 2s even tho they are falling apart and I’ve tried gluing the outsoles so I can try to rock em every now and then lol. I also still have the high top ones that came out in this video…glue hasnt came off of those yet lol
One of the first cool shoes I remember getting as a kid. Got a gift card for my local skate shop and usually wore éS or Etnies, but I got the p rod 2 in that cinco de Mayo colorway. Still love em wish Nike would remake them!

We need a p rod 2 retro! Drop some og colorways and some new ones you think might vibe nowadays, I grew up skating in LA such a diverse skate culture and at the time skate shoes were a huge staple. The p rod 2 and the fallen ripper were my favorite shoes hands down. Huge fan p rod, keep skating bro!

This brings back good mems. I really f with the black gum colorway. Cant go wrong with dem joints. The PlayStation dunks go hard in the paint as well. You seem to mainly rock the white 1’s. Cloud kicks
What’s interesting is some people can rock all white kicks and some can’t. I never could wear all whites. They look super clean they just don’t fit my vibe. It’s funny how a persons energy can make a specific fit work or not just based on that. Everyone has there own thing that makes them unique in how they rock there kicks.

The prod 2 black with the gold swoosh was my favourite pair.
Looked very cool and would get a lot of compliments at school and also it skated very well.

The all black/gum ones you say were general release were never released. The closest we got to those were the black/gold. You have so many unseen samples, I'd have a field day going through your stash. I still have many pairs new in the box.

Something that blew my mind about the P-ROD 2 was that, there was a high top version.
Why that didn't happen to the 1st one?
