And as far as your eyebrows go (yes, I've been watching for a long time) although they are amazing when you "do" them they are just as amazing as natural. SO excited to find out about the new house... my prayers and luck are with you both!!

I made these today and oh my goodness!!! My adult son is Irish on his fathers side and has very red hair and beard I call him my"Favorite Leprechaun"...to celebrate his Irish heritage I wanted to make a Boston Cream Pie doughnut (Boston is the must Irish town I've ever visited outside of Ireland) and he loves Boston Cream Pie...These are amazing!
My dough had a much higher rise than yours using active yeast not fast acting or rapid and my proof time was 1 hour then cut 1/2 " tall circles proved 30 minutes they were like big giant cream puffs...not a problem at all...they are a big fluffy cloud wrapped around vanilla cream with a hint of chocolate. OH dear me!!!
Thank you for sharing your recipes. This dough is perfect for many doughnut flavors!!! Beautiful dough!!

You might be a able to substitute the shortening for butter but the texture might be different

Nadine Kusha~ DO NOT SKIP THE SHORTENING!!! I tried making some the other day and I subbed butter for the shortening, they looked good until u open them up..... the texture was weird and nothing like a soft fluffy donut. To me it wasn't even edible!!!

I tried this recipe to make the good 'ol classic donuts coated with sugar. Instead of whole milk, I used low fat milk. The donuts turned out really well. It's so soft and they were gone less than 30 minutes. I got 20 donuts by using two-inch cookie cutter. Can't wait to make it again with the custard and chocolate.
