One really important part for me, is that the ocean didn't stop her. In the movie the ocean is constantly pushing Moana forward to return the heart, and although it tries to plead with her, in the end it respects her choice. It let Moana choose whether her tribe was worthy of being saved and when she found them wanting it let her sail home without interference.
The image of Te'Ka looking at the departing Moana looks really haunting and the fact that Te'Ka didn't try to stop Moana from leaving indicates to me that Te'Ka, being the twisted version of Te'Fiti, who gives life, might have let Moana go, knowing she will let basically everything be consumed by darkness. Or alternatively it could be that what little part of Te'Fiti is left within Te'Ka is looking at her sorrowfully, knowing what she's about to do. Haunting either way.
Te'Ka's reaction doesn't make sense. Her demon form wants to recover her heart, that's why she attacked Maui when he jsut stole it, and why she stopped and went to Moana at the end.
@@EspadasilenciosaI think Moana got the demon form to calm down and let them realize she was there to help, so it let down it’s guard. But then she turns around and I think the face is confusion as to what she is doing
@@Espadasilenciosatbf, she might not have cared about the stone. She attacked Moana too even though she could probably sense the stone on her. She was just attacking at whomever and saw the best person to focus her rage on (Maui)
The sad truth is that although it is a rarity that people are born evil, all it takes to turn someone good to a villain is the choices that are made around them and the choice they make too. Some say if Europe had listen to the USA and help Germany rebuild after world war 1 Hitler wouldn’t have come to power but be an artist. And world war 2 may have not happened. And that means there is a chance that nukes wouldn’t get invented.
I LOVE the symbolism of her placing the heart on the pile of stones instead of a shell. In the movie, the shell marks the end of their residency on that island, as well as being representative of Moana herself and how she has changed their society. In this, using the heart marks the end of their people, period. It can also represent how her father's hubris and stubbornness, as she sees it, robbed them of the salvation they could have had. In placing it on top of the pile of stones, she is also, in a way, spitting in the face of everything he wanted her to be and what he stands for. Beautiful and chilling bit of visual storytelling
I thought it could be just as cool if she toppled the stone pile as a way to show this island and its history is no more as all its residents will be gone
I’m so glad you mentioned this idk why more people aren’t talking about it like that’s good writing man. Seeing her put the heart in the pile of stones felt like a gut punch when I realized what that meant. I think there’s many ways to interpret it which makes it an even more powerful and tragic gesture. I think it’s insane that the creator tied in symbols from the movie into the animatic in such a clever way I did not see that coming at all I didn’t even know this one would have an animatic lol
@@cristinarancano471 exactly! I mentioned the ones that stood out the most to me, but you're absolutely right. That gesture is soaked with so many layers of potential meaning, and every single one of them are chilling and powerful in their own way. I'm a huge fan of visual storytelling, so I adore little things like this. Also did not expect there to be an animatic for this one, I love seeing creative people collaborate like this
Man, I love the trope of the Pure of Heart character losing it and becoming the most terrifying villain. There's something so satisfying about seeing a character who's gone through such terrible things react, not in a "everything is perfect" way, but in a "you messed up your last chance at my forgiveness, now you don't deserve my help" way. It feels so good to see a true villain come out of a hero who deserves to let out their anger more than anyone else.
I agree. This is such a tragically dark version of the heroine we’ve come to know and love. I get her dad was trying to protect her, but in this version? He went too far and that cost them their best chances of survival, but above all else, it utterly shattered his daughter’s relationship with him. Because of what he had done, this Moana had lost nearly everyone she cared about, with her mother being the final straw. If her dad wouldn’t let her go out to save the world, why should she even bother? He doesn’t deserve it in this version.
Honestly wish more movies and stories did this. Like shit, sometimes people get fed up and bounce. Not everyone is going to take the abuse. (More accurate to Encanto than Moana but still)
I love the thought of the fiti smiling sadly at her and nodding back the way she'd come "Reap your chaos, child" She knows she'll get her heart back, one day But this is not that day This is the day of reckoning for a soul who's been hurt and betrayed as she had been And Maui, forced to just watch because he can't do anything to stop this now And placing the heart atop the pile of stones both as "I will be the last leader" and as a beacon for the next "saviour" to find and save the rest of the world She won't make it easy, but she'll let them find it
@@twilight_gloaming well, I mean he got injured and his hook was damaged I assume he didn't get it fixed, seeing as the fiti was the one to fix it So, I'd imagine he's stuck there with te ka unless the ocean takes pity on him and helps him escape
That would actually be very cool as the movie would become a much more intense race to place the heart back as the "savior " will be on their own with mostly Moana as the main attacker to keep the heart from being put back to continue her revenge, along with all the other threats, and getting muaies help, but at a severely weakened state from their almost broken weapon
What I love about this song is the ending. Usually with villain songs, they end on a darker note, but this one ends on a higher, more hopeful note. The hope that one day, someone will journey to the remains Motunui, find the heart placed on the pedestal, and save the Heart of Tafiti. Just not today.
Honestly, Maui's complete disappearance from this almost makes me imagine that maybe Te'Ka ended up outright killing him in their fight here instead of just shattering his hook, and that senseless death of one of her newest, closest friends was the final straw to push her over the edge and decide it wasn't worth it anymore.
I love how despite the pressure that broke Moana, she still had the heart to give a chance to the others who will be someday be willing to save this curse. The heart shall shine in the night on the pedestal, anyone with the will could see it. She's leaving it to someone's hands because she doesn't want to do it. She's a villain not because she did something wrong but because she just didn't want to do it.
And yet, she's making it harder on whomever has to come after her. The Ocean brought her the Heart before. And while she isn't burying it, she is putting it out of reach of the Ocean trying the same thing again. Whomever takes that chance will be someone who knows the consequences of their actions. It will be someone who choses themselves, not someone who was chosen.
That’s… surprisingly deep and sad. I just hope whomever takes the heart of Te’Fiti knows what they’re getting themselves into. They have to navigate their way to the top of the mountain, find their way to Maui, encounter Te’Ka and then put Te’Fiti heart into Te’Ka. Judging by how normal everyone else’s lives are, I don’t think there’s a single soul on the island is brave enough to face such a challenge.
@@JessOkamiexactly her point, she was chosen and was willing to do it but the pride and ignorance of others ruined her hopes. She placed the heart there for the slim chance that there is still someone out there that is strong enough to set on the journey, and maybe then may her hopes in humanity be restored
@@saddesklunch2544 By refusing to do something right, you are doing something wrong, but yes, the approach to her villainy is quite different than the usual villain you usually see or read about.
This is one of the most realistic villain turn and the description only makes it more sadder and more terrifying. Because of her father, she lost everything she loved; and because of that, she's willing to let the world burn. After all, a hero would sacrifice you for the world. But only a villain will sacrifice the world for you.
Have you watched this movie? Her father is not portrayed as some kind of monster. If anything, except for the subject of the sea, he’s a strict but good man. And his great flaw is not due to something shallow, it due to a very traumatic event that left him deeply distrustful of the sea. In short, he has PTSD from that time. I fail to see the monster in that man.
@@lunahix4815 Then why do you portray him as some kind of bad guy? He's not. He's a guy who was much like Moana in his youth, and lost a very dear friend due to his need to 'break the rules' and 'have an adventure'. Also, Moana made her own decisions IN SPITE of her father.
@@Ares99999 Read the description. This song is written for an alternate universe where her father did do questionable things to prevent her from going on her journey
@@Ares99999 "This is one of the most realistic villain turn and the description only makes it more sadder and more terrifying." like bruh don't get all huffy asking people if they've seen the movie if you aren't even going to read the comment.
Honestly I’d love to hear Esmeralda! Her singing god help the outcasts could easily be changed to “I’ll help the outcasts.” Where she takes matters into her own hands, or her singing hellfire could be amazing
@@sylvirgiomanach1491 I really don't mean to be rude and I'm rather certain you didn't mean anything by it but that would be something we need to tread very carefully on. OP's suggestion with Outcasts is fitting -deciding oppression ends NOW and taking matters into her own hands. Unfortunately (and again I'm sure this was not your intention! Just letting you know) the "Evil Sorceress" is a racist stereotype that has been used against Rroma women for centuries and used to justify r-pe, torture, mass murder, and so on. So it's rather dangerous ground and has the potential to be horrifically racist, which I'm sure no one wants. I'm, again, not saying you meant anything by it! And in general the evil Sorceress is a super cool concept/character type! It just becomes verrrry iffy when it's about a Rroma character because unfortunately it's intrinsically tied to their oppression :(
@@thatonedude977 That one is just a cover ^^ the villain series is on hiatus for a little bit (she doesn't reveal the villain covers either, just says "villain cover" so she can do the polls etc)
The saddest part about this is that if even one person had supported her or helped her escape, she probably would have saved the village for that person. But no one did, everyone forgot about her.
@@Tireddoggy0801 yeah...in the movie. but i think they were referring to the story in the description where her mother dies because his father, who was too scared to let moana leave the island, captured moana in a room for 6 months before she could escape
@@an-vy7ee oh I only watched the movie and since most of these villain songs are allianced with the movie I thought everyone was only talking about the movie
@@Tireddoggy0801 yeah, i get that lol. i also thought that when i first heard this covers, but you should really read the stories in the descriptions (if u want obviously) because they're really cool and let you have more context or imagine more theories :-)
I love that Moana's villain song is just her denying the opportunity to save everyone. She doesn't directly hurt anyone. She just doesn't have to help.
The animatic is gorgeous! And the story makes so much sense! I love that the reason why she became a villain isn't because of Maui, but because of her father! It makes so much sense!
@@MikuTheMoss Ikr? She was their people's best chance of survival, but her father was too stubborn and overprotective and, thus, went too far by destroying the boats and then locking his daughter away 'for her safety' for 6 whole months. In that time, she kept begging to be let out to go save their people, but because of his headstrong nature, he refused, and thus, Moana lost nearly everyone she cared about. Given how the island is at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Moana and her dad are the only two left alive on the entire island. That means she lost nearly her entire village alongside Hei Hei, Pua, and her grandma (who she didn't even get to be there for here), but her mother was the final straw. The death of her mother is what drove this version to decide to not return the Heart and leave with it. If her dad wouldn't let her save their people, why should she even bother letting him live? The damage is already done and she's too far gone.
I love how she basically told him I don't wamt these people to die but it's on you. I could've saved them by why should I stick my neck out for you if you waited til the last moment to let me do it? Like the old proverb says "pride cometh before the fall" and that's exactly what she showed him. Absolute chills!
Very brilliant use in how the words "How far I'll go" can be used to the opposite effect. Moana's pain goes hard as she makes this tough decision not to save everybody when her hope has been crushed so much by her father, wanting her to see his world burn rather than give him any reward for how much ruin he brought upon them. Placing the heart on top of the stones really shows how she is willing to make this her legacy, if there even is anyone left to carry on afterwards.
About 1600-800 years later Colonists prob would have discovered the island. This story would probably have never been told since Moana probably did not write anything down. Even if she did, the colonists May have not been able to understand 200-1000 CE Hawaiian or Tahitian
Putting the heart of tefiti on the peak of stones is a stroke of brilliance. It really melds well with Moana walking away from her responsibility because of her pain and anger
It's also interesting to think that, just like the shell she places in the movie, nothing can be balanced on top, because there will be no more cheifs to place slabs
I love how Te Ka is just like “oh wait I guess she’s leaving?” For seriousness I freakin love this song! The vocals are powerful, the changed lyrics are so impactful, and the visuals and story are the best part! One of your best ones yet Lydia close second to Mulan’s if not better
Te Ka was also wounded and lashing out. He understands the fire burning in her, the hatred, and doesn't fault her for it. How could he, when that same bitterness gave birth to him?
@@johnDoe-gv8si When watching the movie I didn't see Te Ka referenced as he, even at the end Moana said "Let her come to me" So I'm pretty confused where you got that.
I love how she's still the only color in her bleak home, even as a villain or rather refusing to be the hero shes still the only semblance of life her home has
I actually love the idea for this, Moana didnt even do anything wrong exactly , but simply just doing what her father told her to do. or rather " its just a usless rock" No one can blame her for what she did.
The gloomy and chilling atmosphere of the instrumental and the animatic is just so haunting and eerie in a good way, it really complimented the whole song well as we're now listening to Moana's revengeful tone as her belief now has gone completely into sanity, regret and desperate really play an important factor here as well as betrayal from someone (her father) who showed her love but as well taking it away from her, that's really deep and traumatising. Your voice always is on point, capturing her pain and struggle in a way we can feel sympathy for her despite the twist. The only thing I'd question is to know what happened to Maui during this whole catastrophe?
I dont think she went to find him. Cause she was stuck for 6 months and in that yime her grandma mustve died, like in the movie, but she never got to hear tue find maui part, or maybe she forgot.
A neat detail about Moana putting the stone on top of the pile that I don't see anyone else addressing, Moana put the rock on the highest point of the island. Moana isn't just refusing to save her people, she's refusing to save everyone. The ocean can't get to the heart up there. The ocean can't pick anyone else.
I KNEW IT WOULD BE HOW FAR ILL GO! The title literally SCREAMS villain song, how far Moana will go to prove her point to her father, both in the movie and in her new villain arc. Woo! I’m so excited!
In all honesty, I like the villain versions a lot more because let's be honest, they are more interesting to listen to and go deeper into how the human mind actually works. Or is it just me?
I was expecting her to shove the stones over & the ''camera'' move between the rubble to show a shot of her sailing away into stormy weather with a sort of villainous "Bring It On" expression, but to put the Heart far above the Ocean's present reach & so much farther from Te Fiti? Whoo! That hit a whole new note! Don't get me started on the vocals, either!!! Y'all are amazing!
This actually fits really well with the original story told in the film, in my opinion. To me, it looks like the key difference is in personality and how Moana interprets her father's intentions. Basically, there's a lack of understanding of where he's coming from which creates bitterness in Moana. So when the big decision comes at the end, it's the bitterness toward her father that she feels instead of the love for her people, including him. It was her loving heart that allowed her to understand and empathize with what was originally her enemy. But with this alternate version of the song, she finally breaks after a life of repression for no reason. So, I imagine the same film but with Moana becoming increasingly bitter throughout the story until we hit the big climax. 🤔
Honesty a real villainous move would have been to immediately slam another stone on top destroying the heart. But I do also agree that it being the final one on top is a great one as well.
the story of a moana who wants to make suffer her own father for all his mistakes until make everyone perish is so new and great !!! a heroine who plunged too deep into darkness because of her egocentric father just a amazing storytelling ! Thank you so much for this alternative story ! ( Sorry my english's not perfect )
Egocentric is the wrong word, deeply paranoid fits a lot better. He does what he does out of fear for everyone's safety if they were to go out on the water and sadly it's a reasonable fear but ends up still being dangerous for everyone anyways.
I am OBSESSED, now I want a Moana villain story/movie, this is perfect. Even how the phrase "how far I'll go" can be used in a different tone, perfection!
Lyrics ✨🥀 I've been staring at the water long as I can remember I can remember I had been the perfect daughter long as I can remember But they don't remember Every claim I stake every plead is shut Every shout I make scattered to the dust Tell all those I know are lost down below Where I cannot reach See your weakness your pride and your fear It's blinding And no one knows how more will go But you laughed and you shoved me away You defied me And now you'll know When you push you'll soon find out how far I'll go How far I'll go Yeah now you'll know We could have fixed this so so long ago Famine sprouts from your doubts Now reap what you've sown I knew everybody on the island But because of your silence You've brought bout all our demise You spread fear to all of those left around you Now this fear it surrounds you And a darkness fills the skies I could save them all I could stop this curse I could heal this land put us in reverse But you shut me out and your actions hurt You abandoned me I once thought that I had a loving father But one step on that water And our happy little world came crashing down Now you'll pay For all the lives that you've broken For the many lies that were spoken You'll watch your people drown All these useless and meaningless deaths they're on your head I take no pride in seeing them die But you won't find a savior and me I guarantee That now you'll know How far I'll go
It is awesome and I really love the fact that in the end she places the heart on the stone pile instead of another stone or a shell. It makes it impossible to add further making her the final chief while also marking the end of her people. The song is great and like with others of this series the story is so relatable.

It’s much more interesting as a villain arc because she’s not doing something “bad” in the other’s eyes, she’s simply doing what they told her to do from the start: nothing It somehow fits so right
This was incredible and chilling! Seeing how Moana was rejected by those she loves and now she rejects them in return... so powerful and dark but I love it! And next week is my favorite Disney villain song? Can't wait!
One of my favourite story concepts so far. This feels cinematic, everything is planned and executed so well, great job both the singer and animatic artist cuz put together like this it gives us an amazing experience💜
There are a couple touches that really make the animation so good. Theres the obvious, Moana looks exhausted, and maybe even a little starved. So does the dad, actually. But Pua and Heihei are completely absent from this animation, implying that at a certain point there was no other choice than to eat them (yet another thing that may have driven Moana to snap in the context of this animation).
I'd just like to point out that this version of Moana walked up to Te Ka, touched them on the nose, held out the heart of Te Fiti...and turned around saying SIKE and just walked away. Freaking power move.
I've interpreted it as Te'fiti peaking through, as she realises what is going on and that she has been denied her original divine form and looks on in fear as she realises that even Moana, the one chosen by the ocean to save her, has been affected by the disease
The title literally screams villain song. Love the series you've made and I would love to see Anna's villain song too like getting betrayed from Hans and Elsa neglecting her in the start of movie making her into villain would be so fun to see. 🌟
The scene where she marched up the mountain to place the heart on the chiefs’ stack of stones literally gave me chills. A silent and powerful way to say *This was what you wanted, is it not?*
Good reimaging of "How far I'll go" Can you do one with Mirabel singing a dark version of "Waiting on a miracle" or "We don't talk about Bruno"? Perhaps for the latter, Mirabel snaps after seeing the way Bruno was treated poorly by their family and his sacrifice for her.
I love all these VILLIAN ver of Disney princesses... I was a little disappointed that Mulan didn't had "refection" as her VILLIAN song but other than that alot of them are so good and each one has a feeling I feel... So I can't wait for the next three in the future. 😃
Ok, ok I AM IN LOVE WITH THE CONCEPT! You see, all that Moana is trying to say is " Father, you HAVE to take RESPONSIBILITY for your action. I am not here to answer for YOUR SINS. " THAT CONCEPT IS AMAZING.
I could almost see a scenario where the film is exactly the same, except Moana overestimated her ability to reach Tifiti through Teka's anger, abd rather than allow her heart to be returned, she decides to "help" moana by burning her heart out and letting her rage take its place, leaving a Moana devoid of empathy, and imbued with Te Ka's power becomes her agent in the world. Moana, Harbinger of the Plague of Cinders.
This song really shows how this could've happened in the actual film had moana's father actually tried to stop her and her letting the pain and being forced to be something her father wanted her to be, get to her and how his fear of losing her like he did with his best friend nearly ended all of life as they knew it if moana didn't go and return the heart.
"now you'll pay for all the lives that you've broken, for the many lies that were spoken, you'll watch your people DROWN . all these useless and meaningless deaths they're on your head, i take no pride in seeing them die, but you wont find a savior in me i guarantee" imagine if moana said this when she realized Ti fiti and Te ka were one and the same, that this all powerful goddess really was just sitting on her ass just throwing a tantrum over a rock that may or may not even have powers that she could have easily reclaimed on a whim
this may be my favorite villain song yet! the emotion-packed vocals and the animatic of her home rotting and crumbling as she watches, all while voicing the fact that she doesn't *want* this to happen, it's a lesson, gives such a heart wrenching and eerie tone to the piece. (which i very much enjoy!) it's incredible how believable you made this origin for such a kind-hearted and heroic character. one of the reasons i love villainous re-imaginings is seeing how easily the hero's traits and choices could become dark and their morals muddied if they let it. you emphasize this aspect in your work fantastically, and of course the audio and visuals are stunning as always. amazing work!
so basically its all Moana's dad's fault for Moana not saving anything and its Maui's fault for starting everything in the first place amazing !! 10/10
Man I get the chills everytime I listen to this song. It’s so well written. Make sure you read the story and then play the song! It makes it so much more venomous.
This song is so good like I can’t- Sometimes I noticed In “All these useless and meaningless deaths are on your hand!” It really shows how Moana still cares, despite her turn to wickedness. She knows they didn’t deserve it and that all the death and horror was for something that is nothing. Love this song💗
A song request for next princess to be turned evil: The mice weren't able to give Cinderella the key in time, and because they were too late, Prince Charming was married off to another princess. Because of how her "family' treats her and how they stole away her happiness over and over, her anger becomes too much and she plots her revenge. I don't know which song would be good for this, it is a suggestion.
The animatic shows a very different rendition of the song from what ive been imagining while listening ove ron Spotify. I was imagining that it was a scenario where he never let her leave in the first place, where he caught her and trapped her, and she knew what would happen, so when the darkness hit their island she vented all this out at him, and he pleads for her to stay while she stands on the beach, waves lapping around her ankles. And as she sings that final line, the ocean lifts up for her, she marches off, and the waves crash down around her, disappearing into the ocean forever and leaving the island to rot and whither behind her. This rendition is the same vibe though and is extremely well done, I love it
The story is so good! It feels different to listen to the song after you get to know how tragic the story is. Beautiful work done once again, I hope the next one will be inspired by Belle
Just binge watched all the videos in this series and I'm in love with the stories and your singing. I'm also inspired to change my native languages version of the songs to fit these narratives. And my passion for making Disney Hero-Villain switch AUs has been reawakened.
So, that was awesome. I loved the artwork and thought it was interesting with the dark take on it for everyone on the island eventually dying. I think the sing was great in general, and it's probably one I'll come back to listen to often. So, great job on this song! Also, can't wait for the cover of Hellfire, that's also probably one of my favorite Disney songs!
I have an idea for a Cinderella villain backstory. She becomes queen and helps Kit (yes that’s his name) rule, but not before exacting her revenge on her stepfamily. Song title? “Nightmares are The Curse Your Heart Makes”
i do like how neither the ocean or Te'Ka didn't try to stop her. in the end of the day, the ocean knows someone will return the heart one day, even if its not her.
When the people you try to help are so willfully blind and deaf, willfully refusing to believe anything can be done other than what they deem to be right, it gets disheartening. It's hard to actually care about helping people like that anymore. Instead, a small voice gets bolder, firmer, urging you, "This isn't your fight. Your altruism is not required, your help has been refused. You have been denied. Why bother trying to care anymore when they're so eagerly running towards a bad outcome despite your cries? Care about yourself, because they don't."
I must. Lyrics: I've been staring at water Long as I can remember I can remember I had been the perfect daughter Long as I can remember But they don't remember Every claim I stake Every plead is shut Every shout I make Scattered to the dust Till all those I know Are lost down below Where I cannot reach See your weakness, your pride and your fear It's blinding! I once thought I had a loving father But one step on that water And our happy little world came crashing down Now you'll pay For all the lives that you've broken For the many lies that were spoken You'll watch your people drown! All these useless and meaningless deaths they're on your head A take no pride in seeing them die But you won't find a saviour in me, I guarantee That now you'll know How far I'll go!
I absolutely love these what if stories and the songs themselves that come with them! I can’t wait to see more of these because they all sound so awesome!
In the beginning it reminded me of the buildup for Bring Me To Life, all quiet and slowly getting more intense as Moana makes her decision. Lovely art, lovely voice, fantastic video!!
I loved this entire thing and the story behind it, though I am curious about Maui's reaction to her leaving, the Ocean tried to stop her, but we don't see what Maui does.
Wow, I think Moana is one of the characters you've done that your voice is better suited to, this sounded amazing! No pressure but do you have an idea or estimate when the next batch will be?
I like to take it as Te'Ka knows it will be returned one day, but in her twisted form let's Moana just go and have her revenge
I love how you remember all the names even this movie was made years ago.
@@Espadasilenciosatbf, she might not have cared about the stone. She attacked Moana too even though she could probably sense the stone on her. She was just attacking at whomever and saw the best person to focus her rage on (Maui)
It was challenging to make Moana have villain vibes when she is such a sweet character, but it was also very fun and I hope I did her justice!
Thank you so much for making such an incredible animatic!!! Love working with you SO much ❤❤❤
The sad truth is that although it is a rarity that people are born evil, all it takes to turn someone good to a villain is the choices that are made around them and the choice they make too.
Some say if Europe had listen to the USA and help Germany rebuild after world war 1 Hitler wouldn’t have come to power but be an artist. And world war 2 may have not happened. And that means there is a chance that nukes wouldn’t get invented.
Sweet she seemed in the movie to be one of the most evil characters that wasn't a villain
@@ShugoAWay How tf is the original Moana evil in any way
@Raven Sutcliffe i mean she did so much dark things like treason theft murder pirating etc
@@martinamaggio6976 It's spelled Te-Ka.
I'm also a huge lover of this trope. It's such a great one.
Honestly wish more movies and stories did this. Like shit, sometimes people get fed up and bounce. Not everyone is going to take the abuse. (More accurate to Encanto than Moana but still)
I adore this trope and love watching them snap reasonably.
I wish it was shown more, like a hero who decides to quit after being taken for granted,

So true!
Pure hypocrisy, since I condemn children to die empty words of a hypocrite
She’s not a villain because she did something wrong, but rather because she refused to do something right. That’s such an interesting idea to me
@@saddesklunch2544 By refusing to do something right, you are doing something wrong, but yes, the approach to her villainy is quite different than the usual villain you usually see or read about.
Unfortunately (and again I'm sure this was not your intention!
@@NotJasonLvsDogsBEST case, very evocative pictograms that they see as just a story told and not historical record.
Putting the heart of tefiti on the peak of stones is a stroke of brilliance. It really melds well with Moana walking away from her responsibility because of her pain and anger

A neat detail about Moana putting the stone on top of the pile that I don't see anyone else addressing,
Moana put the rock on the highest point of the island. Moana isn't just refusing to save her people, she's refusing to save everyone. The ocean can't get to the heart up there. The ocean can't pick anyone else.

In all honesty, I like the villain versions a lot more because let's be honest, they are more interesting to listen to and go deeper into how the human mind actually works. Or is it just me?

*thinking it's a good song* "You'll watch you people DROOOOOOOWWWWWNNNNNNNN!" *scrambles and adds to favourites*
This is amazing! With How Far I'll Go being one of my favorite Disney songs and I love the movie Moana, this was just perfection. You did a great job!
This song really shows how this could've happened in the actual film had moana's father actually tried to stop her and her letting the pain and being forced to be something her father wanted her to be, get to her and how his fear of losing her like he did with his best friend nearly ended all of life as they knew it if moana didn't go and return the heart.
My favourite parts:
0:06-0:25
1:05 "We could have fixed this so, so long ago"
1:16 "Now reap what you've sown"
2:05-2:17
Love how Te Fiti just lookes at her like "Hey man, I'm on your side. Humans are trash. I'll catch up with you."
"now you'll pay for all the lives that you've broken, for the many lies that were spoken, you'll watch your people DROWN . all these useless and meaningless deaths they're on your head, i take no pride in seeing them die, but you wont find a savior in me i guarantee"
imagine if moana said this when she realized Ti fiti and Te ka were one and the same, that this all powerful goddess really was just sitting on her ass just throwing a tantrum over a rock that may or may not even have powers that she could have easily reclaimed on a whim
this may be my favorite villain song yet! the emotion-packed vocals and the animatic of her home rotting and crumbling as she watches, all while voicing the fact that she doesn't *want* this to happen, it's a lesson, gives such a heart wrenching and eerie tone to the piece. (which i very much enjoy!)
it's incredible how believable you made this origin for such a kind-hearted and heroic character. one of the reasons i love villainous re-imaginings is seeing how easily the hero's traits and choices could become dark and their morals muddied if they let it. you emphasize this aspect in your work fantastically, and of course the audio and visuals are stunning as always.
amazing work!
so basically its all Moana's dad's fault for Moana not saving anything
and its Maui's fault for starting everything in the first place
amazing !! 10/10
Man I get the chills everytime I listen to this song. It’s so well written. Make sure you read the story and then play the song! It makes it so much more venomous.
Love that you maintained the top notch wordplay that all the Moana songs have! Also the heart of Tafiti being her stone is chilling!
This song is so good like I can’t-
Sometimes I noticed In “All these useless and meaningless deaths are on your hand!”
It really shows how Moana still cares, despite her turn to wickedness. She knows they didn’t deserve it and that all the death and horror was for something that is nothing.
Love this song💗
A song request for next princess to be turned evil:
The mice weren't able to give Cinderella the key in time, and because they were too late, Prince Charming was married off to another princess. Because of how her "family' treats her and how they stole away her happiness over and over, her anger becomes too much and she plots her revenge. I don't know which song would be good for this, it is a suggestion.
An evil version of "A dream is a wish your heart makes"?
@@star-boltlover9609yes 😊
Holy shit. Now I need to see all the Disney princesses villain songs. I didn't know what my life was missing until now
That was soo great. I’m sad to see the series end but that finale was worth it. You’re the best Lydia
Hey she will be back around three months and the series will be back! 😃🖤😈💜🖤✨
0:46 I love how Te'Ka just looks at Moana leaving, like, "wtf? I thought you were gonna help!"
After this she should do Belle's or Cinderella’s villain song
I've been begging her for months to do Belle, but she hasn't!
For a example "So this WAS love" and a cover of "Belle" talking about getting revenge for Gaston imprisoning her father?
I have an idea for a Cinderella villain backstory. She becomes queen and helps Kit (yes that’s his name) rule, but not before exacting her revenge on her stepfamily. Song title? “Nightmares are The Curse Your Heart Makes”
@@forkalamari6093 that's a cool idea aswell!
Don’t use that Cinderella. That one is too pure and kind hearted to ever be a villain.
i do like how neither the ocean or Te'Ka didn't try to stop her. in the end of the day, the ocean knows someone will return the heart one day, even if its not her.
I can not wait!! I've been wanting this one for a while, super excited!!
It's less of a villain song and a "It's your problem" song and I think that is really neat
I must.
Lyrics:
I've been staring at water
Long as I can remember
I can remember
I had been the perfect daughter
Long as I can remember
But they don't remember
Every claim I stake
Every plead is shut
Every shout I make
Scattered to the dust
Till all those I know
Are lost down below
Where I cannot reach
See your weakness, your pride and your fear
It's blinding!
And no one knows
How more will go
But you laughed and you shoved me away
You defied me
And now you'll know
When you push you'll soon find out how far I'll go
How far I'll go
Yeah now you'll know
We could have fixed this so so long ago
Famine sprouts from your doubts
Now reap what you've sown
I knew everybody on this island
But because of your silence
You've brought bout all our demise
You spread fear to to all those left around you
Now this fear it surrounds you
And a darkness fills the skies
I could save them all
I could stop this curse
I could heal this land
Put us in reverse
But you shut me out and your actions hurt
You abandoned me!
I once thought I had a loving father
But one step on that water
And our happy little world came crashing down
Now you'll pay
For all the lives that you've broken
For the many lies that were spoken
You'll watch your people drown!
All these useless and meaningless deaths they're on your head
A take no pride in seeing them die
But you won't find a saviour in me, I guarantee
That now you'll know
How far I'll go!
Thanks 😅
:D
Her voice is heaven.
I love that moana isn’t like a true villain like jafar or maleficent and that she actually had motive.
I absolutely love these what if stories and the songs themselves that come with them! I can’t wait to see more of these because they all sound so awesome!
1:53 SOUNDS SO GOOD
In the beginning it reminded me of the buildup for Bring Me To Life, all quiet and slowly getting more intense as Moana makes her decision. Lovely art, lovely voice, fantastic video!!
Sometimes villainy isn’t hurting people through your actions, but letting people get hurt through your inactions.
Because I'm 👀
Next week's cover is gonna be awesome!
(Also petition for Anya to be in the next batch!! It has so much potential and would be amazing! I mean girl straight up killed Rasputin already in the movie lol)
Isn't Anastasia a bluth production
@@thatonedude977 Yes, that's why I said "or Disney-style".
In the editing community it's called "Non/Disney", Disney or stuff that looks/sounds similar.
Besides Disney has got the rights now (ugh)
ETA: also I suggested her because she's in one of the polls so I'm guessing she's a potential one
Anya is short for Anna. Nastya is short for Anastasia.
@@IsabellaQuinns oh I know! The editing community calls her Anya (since she calls herself that) to separate from Cinderella's stepsister, and it stuck xD
Or based on the musical, maybe she ends up with the soviets or something?
(One guy spares her and nobody else knows who she actually is)
I KNEW it was moana 😊excited for this one 🤩😁
This is such a sad version of her story but also a really powerful one too. Very well done! 🙌🏻❤️
