SUPER HEAVY DUTY! That's a good one. Valves , I do 4 thou Int and 6 thou Exh. Very nice route you followed there. I don't like dogs that get excited over the site and sound of a bike. Enjoyed the video Nick and RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!
Strangely, I ended up looking after that same dog at the cafe while the lady went inside to order. Once the bike was still, she was a darling. Stay well Dewayne.
@nick949eldo it just makes me uneasy being bitten twice on the leg while riding. The first time I had to go to the emergency room for 7 days to get a shot in my abdomen.
Super Heavy Duty .... maybe that is what the puppy was sayin also . Nice video editing . The 52 year old Eldorado was probably wondering what the buzzy flying thing ( drone ) was eh ? New technology meets a reliable old tractor of a bike on a peaceful backroad . Luv those dirt roads for sure !
Autumn is my fav time to ride as well. Getting ready for a multi day ride myself. One comment, while I truly love old, lightly used gravel and two-track roads through the woods, I find I enjoy them a whole lot more these days on my DR-650. Maybe the geometry on the Eldo is better suited to those surfaces than my 650 Vstrom? Anyway, always watch your videos. Please keep them coming.
Thanks Greg, Having ridden a few V-Stroms and been quite impressed with their capability, I still prefer the Guzzi on these roads. Lower centre of gravity, less power, less likelihood it would lead me into trouble. And I can fix it with zip ties and baling wire😄. But it's never about the performance for me - it's all about the feeling, and the V-Strom doesn't have it (for me).
Always enjoyable I too love autumn and the colours... Practice makes perfect.. soon you will have the drone automatically following you.. adding another angle to the videos.. Stay safe
Just wanted to say I agree completely with your riding philosophy.. Mine has been the same for years, regardless of the bike I was riding at the time. I love a small unpaved road, especially this time of year. Thanks for the video.
Thanks Nick ❤ Daisy dog and I just got in from a all day ride ' no clothes nap in the warm autumn sun ' ride ' picnic ' nap again and then ride til the end of Sunset . 😊 dose that make sense ? It's to your credit that I'm a very happy ' fairly new owner of the Old Bluebird ' an 81 Goldwing. All good . All very very good... a beautiful day Mm
That woman hit the nail on the head, definitely. The trees are beautiful at this time of the year. Would love to tour round there, O well I suppose I can dream. Thks
I had a 73 eldorado for over ten years, I'm not as tough as you, had a bates fairing and then I put on a Harley fairing, my valves were happy the whole time I had that bike, really liked that toe/heel shifter
Super heavy duty indeed. I'll never part with my Eldo. Thanks for the great video as always Nick. I'm away from my bike at the moment so I'm getting some vicarious riding in via you're channel.
thanks for the video and the Ride the Highlands resource! Been out on my 74 Eldo everyday and like you love the fall temp and colours! Reading "That's An Old Bike" and loving it! have you read Man In The Saddle by Paul Van Hoof?
Ciao carissimo amico ti abbraccio forte e ti auguro tanti bellissimi viaggi.
Nick, its good to see the bike getting you to more beautiful locations. It was great meeting you while waiting for our ferry back to the mainland from Newfoundland last year. We recently moved to the west coast of the US so I won't be able to enjoy this ride anytime soon. We do have an adventure planned to Prudhoe Bay AK though. Ride safe my friend.
Like your videos. Bridges and swamps seem to stop my bike as well. Our bikes seem to have the same steering issue , a habit of turning down dirt roads,. Thank you
The generator light stays on all the time - even though it is charging well (I crossed wires changing coils in the middle of the prairies about 30,000 miles ago). The other light just tells me the lights are on.
What is your handle bar make/set up? Also, it would be cool if you could make a clip on all your upgrades on your bikes. Like your handle bars, mirrors, brakes and so forth. Happy trails!
I suppose they are "super heavy duty." I needed that little look. As soon as I can stop finding important things to do, or may stop looking for them. I'll have to get my 67 v7 up and running. I'd better hurry up before they shove us all in 15 min city's with a 5g security fence.
Nick, what was the cause of the backfires? /I'm engineer and a bit prof. distorted aka curious about this things/ You are absolutely right about the enhancing the pleasure with the right bike.. I ordered my Royal Enfield just to do that.. Waiting to arrive next week and to ride around my local village roads before the winter arrives.
Nick, nice trip. What brand and type of tires do you use for your kind of hybrid touring (on both asphalt and gravel)? Btw, my MG California Jackal sounds exactly the same!
@michelcapel hi. I use Duro, Shinto etc...whatever is cheap and looks suitable. In thousands of miles of gravel riding I've yet to find the make or the tread pattern to make a scrap of difference.
Nice video, I like it when there is no music, just the sound of the Guzzi. 👍
She sounds great.
Another great video Nick.

Me, I'd have characterized the Guzzi as 'Basso Profundo', but everybody's different, eh?
I love the creamy yellow colour of the Eldo

That was great.Thank you. Love the audio and nothing sounds as sweet as a super heavy duty guzzi.

Perfect Nick!
Great video. Love the thrum of the engine. It’s good to see the Eldorado back on the road again 👍
Always enjoyable

Beautiful day. Beautiful ride!
I am glad that you didn't get splattered in deer guts.
I love it when you are riding the Eldorado!
Take care.

We need more deer hunters in Southwestern Ontario !!
Another great video. Thanks

Good to see the old girl back out and about. Excellent as usual fella!

Super Heavy Duty Moto Guzzi
Super Heavy Duty. I am going to steal that name. For me and the bike. Another beautiful video. Thanks, Richard in Virginia
I see you got the old Guzzi sorted. Beautiful time of year for a beautiful ride. Thank you for sharing it with us.

A deer squirming out from under a guard rail?? This is a new one for me to be aware of!

Couldn't help noticing that one or two of the warning lights were showing: another electric gremlin?

Brilliant! I have to wonder how many muffler brackets you've rattled off that old girl.

@@oneproudchump8457 Sorry, haven't a clue. They are just generic 'scrambler' type bars.

Lovely vid as usual Nick. What was the source of the misfire?
No idea. I fiddled till it went away.😁

@@Stefan_trekkie Not sure as I fiddled with just about everything, but I think it may have been a faulty ignition relay.
when i hear swaps I think Louisiana or Florida more tropical not mountains
Ah. Puzzled me there for a second. I think you meant swaMps.🤪
so how did you resolve the backfiring Nick
@peterlaws1653 fiddled with everything until it went away. Still not entirely sure 😁

Hi Nick
May I ask what was the back fire issue? I’m always curious about these things.
Thanks
TT
Wouldn’t take my goose on a road like that. To each his own.
It's not a holy relic, but yes, if yours us pretty best to keep it that way. Btw. The gravel dust does clean off.
