The best friend you can have when the going gets tough is definitely an old Guzzi, they are more than just a piece of machinery , they are a loyal companion with the heart of a lion. Thanks for the videos brother.
I have several motorcycles all newer than my 1973 Eldorado...but, as you have so eloquently described many times there is a certain je ne sais quoi that compels me to go to my Moto Guzzi instead of the modern 128 hp machine with ABS brakes, traction control, and more.... its the soul of that machine that romances me into a more genteel time in history (if there even was such a thing).....I really enjoy videos very much
As you will know, Nick, the marvel about riding in Canada for a Brit is the sheer scale of the landscape, the emptiness, the distances which can be covered without encountering any significant traffic. Inspirational, a wonderful old machine, something you can really bond with like a horse.
Always good to come back and re-watch this when one needs about half an hour of peaceful/enjoyable/interesting distraction when multitasking. Thanks Nick!
Fantastic! I also rode west from Ontario in the spring of '22. Wonderful to see many of the places I traveled on that ride through your lens, and perspective. Thanks for taking the time to document your trip.
“A curvy road, beautiful scenery, and a soul satisfying bike. A perfect combination.” That’s what it’s all about. Just last weekend I got a start on my summer weekends away with a little trip to Bracebridge, and the Muskoka lakes. Even after the trip there, and after getting settled into my motel room, I just had to get out for some more cruising around some the local lakes. The bike (the one that shakes so much when it starts) seemed as happy to be in it’s element as I was, and was just purring. I just wanted to ride, and ride…
a simple black leather jacket and similar pants: best equipment. If it rains a (breathable) windproof overall. No fancy laminated high-tech fabrics that would be ripped easily just by a splinter of a wooden hedge, making the garment virtually useless. I have the same style Incidentally, you are brave riding that bike on a dirt road. I do not feel so sure of myself with my MG SP2, even after all these years. Still incidentally, I have five bikes, and which do I prefer for an easy tour? The MG. It wins over the BMW GS....
I use a fully waterproof suit over the leathers if the rain is serious - otherwise, the leather is good for a quick shower. Regularly treated with dubbin, it stays flexible and partially waterproof. Mostly, I use leather because I find it comfortable, it was paid for long ago, is tough as nails and as an antidote to all the space-ranger riding gear which is so common today. I know, I'm a snob 😁 (although I do have a couple of 'modern' riding jackets too). Not brave at all. I ride thousands of kilometers a year on gravel and the Eldorado is very stable. I ride within my limits and the limits of the bike and always stay loose. Tightening up is the enemy.
Love your attitude Nick, everyday is a good one. My day includes picking up a beautiful 1973 Eldorado I found recently. Only 10,000 miles on her. Who knows maybe a trans Canada on a Guzzi for me. All the best to you and your travels
Thanks Randy. Have a great time with the Eldorado. If you haven't already (as I suspect you have) read up about chrome bores. Most of all, enjoy it and have fun.
Hi Nick, just rediscovered this one - I've just come back from a visit to my sister in Cleveland, but the nearest I got to your neck of the woods, was 'The Falls', and was frustrated not to get further north. This looks my sort of ride to be honest, and it's left me determined to get back across there. Thanks for these videos Nick, they're much appreciated. 👍
Thanks Martin. I tend to avoid Toronto and the end of Ontario near Niagara. Once north of Toronto, there's plenty of good country to explore. As you say - next time. 😁
Absolutely, one of the best motorcycle travel videos I've watched. I know the BC routes well, and it is still a delight to follow you along on this trip. I just got back from a trip through the Kootenay / Arrow lakes area and those are absolutely wonderful roads. Subscribed.
Just got home from a ' went the other way ' nice long ride through BC which was supposed to be a fishing trip into N Sask. Oops . I was on a car camping trip in N ' SK when I seen your look what I did Goldwing introduction. Then that's what '' I '' did . But my new 81 Wing keeps runnig way on me . Mmm ❤ darn ....
Hi Nick I found the sound and picture quality to be much better. I also enjoyed your Adventure Rider article. I very much enjoy your writing and videos. TT
Great video, greater trip. If you had head a couple hours north of Saskatoon past N, Battleford you would have hit Hatherleigh. Not sure what's there. A couple of barns and some tractors maybe? My Dad was born there on a homestead back in 1908. I might make it there some day. If I do I'll be riding my Guzzi G5. Thanks for the great post.
Great video ever seen ! The guzzi........ hhmm gorgeous !❤ you are a good man on a good bike !😊😊 big hello from an Ural rétro from Alsace and a 1958 frenchy rider.... ❤( north east part of France just behind Mulhouse....)
Last time I was in the UK I noticed one or two too. As long as they don't let the donuts go stale or leave the coffee on the heaters too long (as parsimonious Brits have a tendency to do), they should be fine. I'm a Brit, so I can say such things....
Thanks for this very nice video,i drove to west go and back10000 klm with my softail in 2017,My next trip to vancouver island to see my old friend will be with the guzzi 85 tt 2022 or 23 . Wish you the best for other ride😊🏍👍
Stats Canada reports that if you break down on the Trout Lake road you have an average of 14 minutes and 38 seconds before being eaten by a Grizzly Bear..It is stunning and you are right, The Koots is an amazing motorcycle adventure playground and we are truly blessed if living in this area. Wonderful adventure Mr. Adams. That was fake news about being eaten by a Grizz in 14 minutes and 38 seconds. You actually have 16 minutes.🤪
@@nick949eldo If you come back through this way I have a few places to show you that are equally stunning, There's a garage for your bike and a room to rest. Sunny Salmo!
But of course. It may leak, oil, drip gas, shake side to side at an idle but they'll go and go and go. I do know this, I should've never got rid of my 1976 T-3 hot rod.
Love your channel. Me and a group of 2 other will be trekking up the north road from pennsylvania to chibougamau up the north road this friday. And tips or updates? Havent been up since 2011.
Love your name. Wish I could still grow one.🤣. Only advise...take it easy, don't rush. Nobody will bother you if you camp at the Rupert River. Nemiscau is off the route a few kilometres but there's gas, a resturant and the people are friendly. When I was there folks would just sit down with us at lunch to chat. Most of all, have a great trip.
@@nick949eldo Haha the mullet has always been the claim to fame. Thanks! We are fishing at lac tesecau several miles south of the rupert river. Most Cree people speak English (and Cree) so no probs in Nemiscau. Have a great trip.
Just got back. What an adventure. The north road was no problem. The back roads off of the north road was rough. Beautiful secluded scenery. A lot of wildlife. Great fishing!! Thanks for the tips

Mr. Nick, I made my comment about 1 mins into watching your video, I didn't expect that you entire cross-Canada adventure was going to be in this one video. I can see now that you avoided the large cities. I should have known that your video would come out AFTER your Trip was over. I'd like to highlight another Canadian Motorcycle Channel for you to check-out. ;-)
