    What I’ve always loved about Mr Miyagi, is that we’ve never actually seen him go above a tiny percent of his full capabilities in combat. He’s probably never had to go above 20% of his full strength (and even that’s probably generous) against Johnny and his goons or against Kreese, Mike and Silver. He didn’t need to. It makes you wonder what he was like in his prime when he had to use his full strength during the war. Man must’ve been an absolute beast.

    This goes to show how powerful Mr. Miyagi is. An old Mr. Miyagi demolished both a prime Silver and a prime Kreese. Daniel and Johnny couldn't even get through Terry Silver and even Chozen struggled, and Mr. Miyagi just easily handles him without even using any sort of super-secret techniques or anything.

    • @kwl189
      @kwl189 2 роки тому +342

      Miyagi is simple. Attack when absolutely necessary and when the opponent can't defend because they don't expect it. Can't counter something you don't expect because the guy doesn't waste energy throwing to intimidate. Instead he throws when both sides have already engaged. It's a very disarming style, Miyagi has. Avoid, block if necessary and strike in close quarters. The efficiency is utterly ruthless. Barnes, Silver and Johnny had flare but Miyagi's simplicity and rock solid foundations overcame them.

      Also to mention mr miyagi would beat Bruce lee too and Terry would beat Bruce lee aswell
      Bruce lee has literally put a spell on everyone think about how is Bruce lee the best fighter when he hasn’t even been in a real fight or fight tournament or without winning one fight tournament he is the only person In the world that is called the best fighter in the world without showing any proof of Bruce is the best fighter
      Even martial artist and Mma fighters are deceived by Bruce into thinking he is the best

      He may be younger in reality but portraying the character of silver as older really works. Great actor. The amazing thing is that Ralph was 27 in this movie and looked easily 10 yrs younger while Tom looked his age or older.

But the mood was still there, at 2:25 you can see how worried Daniel looks, terry was clearly the biggest threat here

    I love that Barnes was clearly aware that he couldn't take Miyagi. You saw him sitting there at the end of the scene. He never made another attempt, even though he definitely could have. May have been the only non Cobra Kai person he had some respect for, in so much that he could have respect for anyone. I also love that they perfectly developed Miyagi's fighting style in the series to be totally realistic to his size, stature, and slower speed. He was entirely a counter fighter, that had lightening fast vision to see attacks, and very short quick moves to redirect attacks and throw off balance. And so when he'd throw a strike, they didn't have to be 'fast', just powerful.
