    The only one knocking Dax is Meltzer . Doing the EVP’s bidding .

    People being mad at Dax in that locker room is fucking wild. He buried no one. Shows the maturity of these guys in that locker room that they are not happy JUST BECAUSE he didn't bury Punk.

      The Young Cucks and Kenny Omega need to be removed from being EVPs. They also need to be jobbed out, and released for being bad at their job, and locker room diva's.

      I think it’s funny that plenty of guys in the locker room have publicly said Punk was great to have around while all the reports of “heat” are anonymous and through dirt sheets like Meltzer where people have known for years that Jericho and the Bucks are stooges

    Chris Jericho breaks down his matches within a week on his podcast. AEW has so many hypocrites. At least Dax was trying to say something positive and productive to their product not talking about how they worked the match what spots they agreed to how they came up with ideas. Its freaking stupid

      @Matt-cr4vv Рік тому

      This is a good point. Being upset at Dax would make some sense if you didn’t have somebody like Jericho who has been discussing everything he does backstage on his show for years by this point. It’s obvious the issue isn’t him doing a show but more so disliking the narrative he brings. For instance he brought a lot of positive perspective regarding Punk when higher ups in tbeh company want everyone to think Punk was entirely a bad guy. If he was dumping on Punk, like Hardy somewhat did on his show, there’s be no issue. Notice you didn’t hear any drama from their locker room when Matt talked about the events and backed the Bucks up entirely.

      @@Matt-cr4vv People forget FTR also had heat as soon as they walked into the AEW locker room because they appeared on the Jim Cornette Experience (another man who AEW EVPs want their roster to believe is an enemy to all those in the company). Its such childish b*llshit.

    I always wondered why they kept doing the podcasts despite their current roles. I always assumed it was because they had contracts that required it. But Bischoff has recently changed my outlook on that. For one we saw the value of keeping the show despite the role when you see how short his time in WWE was. If he had stopped the show for that job and then it ends in four months then he’d have been up a creek. But I’ve been working through Bischoffs new book and that provides even more color for why you’d keep the show going despite your current job. If you believe the numbers Bischoff says those shows do in revenue in his book then keeping the show makes all the sense in the world. According to Eric their paid platform does around $1M of revenue a year which of course gets split up a thousand ways considering all the people on the platform providing content.
    But he also noted that the shows themselves outside of the paid platform do on average $25-30K a month in revenue each. In that context it’s easy to see why you’d keep doing the show if you have the time. Let’s assume the revenue split for each show is $20K. I believe for most of them it’s a 50/50 partnership with Conrad. So at those averages each guy is doing $120K a year from their podcast. Even if you are making a nice check from your job in the business keeping the podcast as a side hustle is absolutely worth it at those numbers. If you have your job and don’t need the podcast money then you bank six figures a year in pure bonus money for a low time commitment side hustle (the guys with current jobs do two hours a week at most).
    That doesn’t account for whatever ancillerary revenues they share in from the other things tied to the shows like the paid platform of their merchandise sales that get promoted on the shows that have ads. That’s a sizeable income stream to keep coming in on the side if you can do it and whenever your time in your job ends you can then fall to that income coming in for you. A lot of them seem pretty locked into their roles like a JR or Tony but for guys like Bruce who could get cut whenever or an Arn keeping that income coming is worthwhile so you’re not out of luck whenever the current job ends. Bischoff is a great example - when WWE didn’t work out he just went back to full time on his podcast and does way more content and side ventures within their network. And the show formats have always been a review of the past so it’s been no struggle to see them continue on forward.

    I have been involved on the periphery of the wrestling business for over 30 years. I've been a fan of the business I have friends in the business. I've done little isolated paying jobs here and there. Despite that, I still consider myself a mark. Personally, I like being a mark. I wish guys would start protecting the business again. It makes it hard to enjoy it when everything is exposed. I don't have a problem with what Dax is doing, because he is saying things that need to be said. There is just too much being said nowadays though

Guess Steph was embarrassed of her daddy’s wrasslin business and wanted it to be high brow lol good luck with that

    Crazy that a group of employees would have heat with another employee for saying he hopes that a couple other employees who got into a fight with each other can bury the hatchet for the good of business especially if that can help said business make more money and benefit all parties involved. It's like AEW takes place in some weird, alternate universe.
