The thing with Punk is that he draws bigger numbers than anyone else in AEW by far, and he gives them the best chance to grow their audience. Like Al said, everyone hated Shawn Michaels, but they all wanted to work with him because it was best for business. Guys like Jericho, Moxley, and The Elite have proven that they are not able to draw the numbers to grow AEW's audience. Working with Punk right now is what is best for business. If they are unwilling to do that, then they should be the ones to go.

Ive said it once and i'll say it again. It's the bodies of the wrestlers. When you got fat guys wrestling in there shirts and skinny twigs that look like nightclubs goers, your not going to get no one watching it. Only way fans watch regular people in a combat is if the combat is real.

36:00 Preach on, Rev. Al! I couldn't have said better myself. I became a fan when I saw a commercial for Starrcade '91. I begged my grandmother to tape it for me since she had a descrambler. The first thing she said was "You know that shit is fake, don't you?" She handed me a tape with "Stupid Wrestling" written on the label a week later. I knew it was "fake" from day one, but I was hooked anyway because these guys made me forget that it wasn't. I knew from the age of nine that I wanted to be a professional wrestler, and would have been if I hadn't broken my neck at 18. Once professional wrestling is in your blood, it's always there even if you know it isn't real. The problem with the modern generation is that they make no effort to make you believe, and it gets harder and harder to be a fan.

If you understand what Al is saying about it being considered low brow, 90% of Vince's decisions make sense. He put his money on Roman because Roman looks great and dignified. Most of his gimmick is 'I have pedigree' which the owners of the major corporations are going to understand. He put his money on Hogan because (among many reasons) Hogan speaks softly and eloquently when he's being interviewed. Stone Cold's run was so short because The Rock emerged and has mainstream appeal while Austin has appeal but is 'trashy'. Cena is a dream come true if you're trying to make wrestling on look like carny shit. He's intelligent, good looking and appeals to everyone. This is why dudes like Dean Ambrose and co don't get anywhere beyond '5 star matches'.
If this rumor is true, that punk is going to take the Saturday show, why doesn’t Tony do the smart thing and just give punk rampage. I thought there was chatter about that for a while.

AEW has felt split from the beginning. Cody and his crew over here, the Elite and pals over there. Jade not interacting with most of the roster.
But if this is a bad idea to do a split, why is Warnes Brothers doing it & gave AEW a new TV deal on top of it???
I'm not saying I agree with either side. But these TV executives believe this will work somehow. Who they should interview is a TV executive to get their opinion

Wrestling will always be looked down at and the fans who watch it by non fans. The industry of Wrestling has always been a hard sell to the main stream media and advertisers because it will always be considered "fake". After the news of the merger between wwe and ufc, some believe that being associated with wwe would hurt the legitimacy of mma since both wwe and ufc are both under the same umbrella with endeavor

I guess we don’t truly know but I highly doubt AEW went to the network and asked for a new show so they could bring Punk back. For one as the network if you came to me for the new show so you could being a wrestler back because you can’t get your roster to work with him would be an immediate nonstarter to give you two more hours of television time. I’d immediately see you as a clown show and start having doubts to even extend what I’ve already given you much less two more hours of programming if that was the reason. The more likely thing is the network approached them with the show but mentioned they wanted Punk back for it to give it a better shot to draw well and maybe they said he had to be brought back to give them the show but even then I’m doubtful.
It’s more likely Tony saw it as a chance to have him back and keep them apart as much as possible. Even if they made up I still wouldn’t be surprised if they were kept apart more often than not just to minimize the chance of future conflict. But if they don’t solve their issues to an extent even if they are on separate shows there will be an issue eventually. Unless the network genuinely did say they had to bring Punk back to get the new show then I don’t think he should be brought back unless they come to an agreement to work stuff out because it’ll eventually explode again. How can you tell the network that because your roster won’t work together Punk can never be on the most watched show the company has? All of that would seem like such a nonstarter to commit hundreds of millions of dollars to a company if their leader has zero control over his roster like that to put his foot down for whatever is best for his business.

They are going to make a second CM Punk show, and Punk is going to quickly find a way to make it untenable to use him or work with him without breaching his contract, so Tony Khan has to pay out whatever additional millions he throws his way without having to work.
Phil Brooks should have been straight up blacklisted the DAY AFTER Brawl Out.
But nope, let's let his number one stan Tony Khan create a separate show just for him. AEW is going to go out of business in two years if this keeps up. How much more money can Khan throw around before the organization starts bleeding it?
AEW needs the brand split, cause they have too many great talent staying off Dynamite. And with more TV time they can promote the show a lot better with reviews, promos & other video packages.
If handled right it could be good but I have little faith of that. A brand split on its own isn’t terrible but one because people won’t work together is destined to cause more problems sooner or later.
If the Morons are split because of SM PUNK - That shows you that some want to Respect the Business and Fans - While others with TUMBLE DEE Wrestling are trying to make it into a freak show with no Wrestling Class or Respect for the Fans to have a Wrestling Match not a diving contest!
