well, Johnny (lead singer) said that he wanted to change and stop being called "rock musicians" so, they did this "MCID" album with a complete different groove. I personnaly dont really enjoy it BUUUUUUUT I really love the fact that they did what they wanted to do and they seem rly happy with it. I think they'll never wear a mask and its inspirational :) (sorry for my english, my main language is french :) )
Honestly I agree with most people thinking their older music has a bit more soul to it. But I do enjoy this album, if you're having trouble enjoying it, I suggest listening to the album from start to finish. Don't think about the old stuff. Just appreciate the work they're doing currently. You'll find the gems in there. I like to think of it as if you were to complain about a painters new piece because his last was a different style. I’m a musician and had a band that I toured with for 5 years. People have to understand that the songs and sounds that come out of people and bands grow and evolve relevant to the people creating it and what they’re going through at the time. I like this album a lot and I’m glad they stepped out of the norm. It keeps them fresh. I hate repetition!!

Man the fans here bickering and slandering a band they're claiming to love all because they decided to experiment, clearly doesn't love the band. Because I've been a fan since their Gumshoe days and they've changed their sound from then to Mister Alyusm and continued to add some punk and grudge vibes to The Boy Who Died Wolf. I've loved nearly everything about this album other than Tokyo Ghoul and they still are my favorite band. Their rock sound is going away and you can see that on literally over 65% of this album. Maybe if you paid to their interviews and even Johnny's Twitter, you can see that they've never wanted to be grounded into one genre of music.

Because of the Japanese stuff like tetsuyo's bike and whatnot, this makes me feel like he's asserting himself as a god by telling the left and right to move over as he's coming down the middle, because in Japanese Shinto culture, the middle of a walkway is reserved for the gods.
