Love it, brother. I so wish more brands did this. Love the whole idea of a "modern / classic / brand new" models (and Omega totally needs to recreate these models)
IMHO the Watchco Seamaster 300 is a Watchco. But it is not really an Omega. It may be made out of Omega parts, but it was not built in Switzerland and not by Omega. As far as I know the design was not really created by Omega but by M.O.D. and Omega built the Seamaster to those specs. This is probably the reason why the Seamaster 300, the Rolex MilSub and the CWC Royal Navy Diver look so similar. All three watches are based on the same M.O.D. specifications. I think the Watchco looks great, but so did the Omega. And yes, Omega should bring this iconic design back. I am glad I went with the MKII Project 300. I think it's as close as I can get to an original.
I don't completely agree as the movements were built directly by Omega the rest is done by and approved service centre just as would happen if you sent an original in for servicing. This is exactly what Rolex does when they replace vintage dials with new old stock. So to me they are just NOS at a price point that makes it comfortable to use as a daily watch.
@@andrewgiblin3468 And I don't completely disagree with you but IMHO it's just different watch than an original Seamaster 300 from the 60s. Nothing wrong with that tough. I think it's something different when Omega builds a watch in the factory in Bienne with their knowledge and quality control and this watch is later serviced by a service centre like Watchco, as when Watchco builts a Seamaster out of parts from scratch. To me, the outcome is not exactly the same. It does not make the watch bad in any way. It just makes it different. But that's just my two cents I hope we can agree on one thing: It's a great looking watch! Ps. and I would not mind having one in the collection ;-)
@@andrewgiblin3468 well that would be great but unfortunately as unlikely as another release of the wonderful Rolex 5517 Milsub. Prices for those wonderful old watches are just insane. This is why I decided for me to go the homage route and try to get the best version possible.
Awesome video, I've noticed this a bunch of times. The real vintage 166.024s have rounded corners on the date window. Fakes on etsy have the squares which are also blackened on the back and not the brass. I've heard the watchco ones have this as well, but have never seen a 100% certain watchco model. Any information on this issue?
Love your videos and the watches you choose. I have bought an Omega Dynamic III from 1998 (the 36,5mm, not the chronograph). Hope you would try to get it and make a review. Best regards
I just finished my third . Very difficult near impossible to get cases anymore. One is on the 1171 the other is on the shark mesh this last one Im still debating what bracelet. I like the Bond bracelets I have a back bezel dial hands crowns still left but the middle case I will have to donate a kidney
I have one and it's one of my favourite watches, I absolutely love it and want to get a no date to go with my date as well. Mine's on the period correct 1171 bracelet and I also have a Milanese and Bond Nato for those you know Bond moments!!
I am putting together one of the last 166.024 ever. The hardest part to find is the case, I wont recommend doing this because it cost way more than just buying a complete watch
If people classify those as Franken, you could ask yourself how much genuine those people would classify a serviced vintage watch that received service parts.
Exactly. If you ran over your original Seamaster 300, and it came back with a new case, dial, hands and glass, would it be a franken Watch? Of course not. So neither is the Watchco.
Instead of “Deeper Dive” use Spelunking! You can thank me later and bro....bro... what about the Benrus Ultra Deep 666 6088! I’ve been asking forever! It has this plastic called Bakelite made by some Belgian!

I was waiting for you to see this one! knew it would tickle your fancy hehe
A friend of mine has the 1957 reissue of the Omega 300 Beautiful Watch !
Just imagine a fixed lug model
Love the fact that it doesn’t have the helium escape valve ! Thanks for the review !
OMGosh. I had no idea this could be done. I’ve-got-to-have-one! Great content! Thanks!
I had two. Sold the last one after the crown pulled right off minutes after landing in Beijing and setting the date! Still miss it.

@@7rslender I wish someone would be doing this with Submariner 5513's and selling for $5K, now wouldn't that be nice!!

@@andrewgiblin3468 heheh sign me up for that!
I love the idea of ‘watch co’ especially when it’s from my country! 🇦🇺 this will have to be my next watch...
You'd be a lucky little shit if you've got one of these, I'd kill for it.
Aussie Swiss cheese mate, bloody tasty ey. LOVE Omega watches!
heheh! I love em too!

Real Omega parts throughout. Nothing fake here.
Interesting piece. Subscribed.
Doxa sub 200 is almost the same and about a 1/4 of the price.
Hi Cam, great video!
Here in Melbourne we use to pass on these watchco’s for 2or 3k, that was 7 or 8 years ago.
How things change...
In UK they were around the £3K (Pounds) 2-3 years ago. Not sure about now.
Great video! I was able to find a 166.024 and love it!!
Great to hear!

Thanks mate!! Appreciate the kind words and feedback!! super cool watches Omega Dynamic III's are dope!!
Craft & Tailored thanks mate, yes I’m really happy!! Keep making this content, we appreciate it!!

great watch, even nicer the 166.0251 also reproduced by coastco
what brand is the sharktooth band? many thanks
Thanks ❤ great watch
Glad you enjoyed it!!
How have I not heard of these. I have a 2020 seamaster professional and I honestly think I might have gotten one of those instead if given the option

So rad they make great and functional watches!!
Drinking game : drink a shot every time Cam says “leverage”. Trust me you’ll be roasted after 2 videos
leverage, leverage, leverage that's 3 shots my bro!
Craft & Tailored actually watching this drinking a boulevardier cocktail! Haha
To be fair, the word was used correctly once in this video.
How is it possible that omega hasn't reissued this watch??
These could be made for about $1200 in parts total when people started doing this.
yep, 100% then the parts supply got shut off by omega! demand is going up pricing inevitably goes up!
So will omega service one of these?
Yes, they love to service them, and you will see why when you get the bill..

kind of in its own category from my perspective

Cool watch needs an Olongapo band
Olongapo band's are dopeeee
Doesn't this look like the Certina PH 200m ??
The Certina looks like the Seamaster. Important difference;-)
Interesting video, however I wish there are more shots of the actual watch as opposed to you speaking on it. No offence.
Im hunting one

I don’t understand everyone like this “frankenwatch”.
Everyone hates rolex frankenstein but why omega is okay?
Because it’s Omega , that’s the difference!!!
