- The 78th Goodwood Members Meeting took place on 16th and 17th of October 2021 with the 45 minute Pierpoint Cup being the final race on track on the Saturday. A race of yank tanks with Ford Falcon Sprints, Galaxies, Dodge Darts and of course notchback Mustangs being amongst some of the competing cars.
For cars running MSDs the rev limit was set to 6500 which limited the grunt of our yellow Mustang, shared by Alex Taylor and Andy Priaulx.

Amazing footage, that any driver or owner of a 1965 Mustang would appreciate and treasure. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the Race. Amazing setting, course and audience proximity to these powerful American machines . . . .
So this is what racing with the big boys is like . Impressive.
the second driver has a smoother/efficient driving especially on the turns , well done both ...
Why does it have to be limited to 6500 because it's running MSD ignition and what is the normal redline 8000 ???
At some point I noticed the despair of the pilot when he saw that his car did not give him more
Was that white car running snow tires !!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🏁🍺🍺🍺
The big 1964 Studebaker Commander crushes the entire Ford team with ease, despite the dirty driving practices of several Ford drivers.
Am I correct in saying he only uses 1st and 2nd gear?? surely 3rd could have been used. Perhaps he had a gearbox problem
He is using 3rd and 4th - gearbox is fine
@@rasslerracing7646 Thanks for that. Must have incredible torque. Very impressive.
@@stableofspeed1217 Well, it is a V8.
Yes and it isn't ever running below 3000 rpm I don't think. 6500 limits the power output notably. I don't understand why they have to do that.
Alex Taylor and Andy Priaulx severely need a set-up guy ........ cars in the first 2 laps , walked by their car ....... set-up is the difference between killing tires or an engine and the driver working way harder then they have too ......
