    Thank you so much! Watching you do this gave me the confidence to do it myself. I already had a Tropiclean no-rinse facial cleanser on hand but I was unsure how to use it. After I watched your video I went to town with it on my two pups and I was amazed how much easier it made the process! Thanks again!

    I have a 7.5 yr old white Shih Tzu. As a puppy, He had a terrible orange staining around his eyes, his feet & any area he’d lick... I stopped giving him tap water, he only ever has bottled water... he’s not suffered staining in over 6yrs 😊

    This is so helpful! I have a toy poodle who gets awful buildup from his eyes that usually hardens down around his mouth and near his eyes and trying to clean it can be so difficult. He doesn’t like combs and stuff near his face so it’s a struggle but I’m ashamed to take him to the groomers with a dirty face like that. Hopefully now it’ll be easier to do myself!

    I have an 18 year old yorkie and our sweet Bo dog used to clean her eyes and ears for her every day several times a day. He passed away and she fought and struggled so much with me cleaning her eyes that I would just get the worse of it off. I can't stress enough to be sure and clean them well as she ended up with an awful infection beneath the cement scab like build up! I am so ashamed and embarrassed that I didn't realize it was infected!
    Thank you for this video I am going to order your suggestions and use daily eye wipes to keep on top of it from here on out. I didn't want to hurt her because she would struggle so bad but I ended up hurting her worse because I don't know how long the infections has been under there but far longer than a quick hold down good cleaning!! Thank you for talking about this subject and for your instructions!

    Thank you for this video. We recently adopted a toy poodle mix, and she has quite a bit of gook under both eyes. I saw you used a special collar to hold the dogs still on the table. Our dog hates when we touch her face and I don't think I could hold her long enough to comb out the softened gook.

    Amy, I bought some of this for my Shih Tzu and the instructions on the back says to keep out of eyes so I have been afraid to use it. Also I have heard that acute tear stains are a medical condition caused by blocked tear ducts. I thought it was strange since so many small/toy size dogs have this is issue...I would like your input on this if possible. I don't want to put my pup through unnecessary tests as he is very tiny.

    • @GoGroomer
      @GoGroomer  2 роки тому +2

      This is the product you would want to use to wash your dogs face. It is safe around the eyes you just don’t want to rub it directly into the eyes. I don’t feel that tear staying is caused by blocked tear ducts. I have seen studies that prove the tear staining often is completely diet related. Proper diet can change the tear staining 100%. That would be the Avenue I would look into if I was concerned as a pet parent.

    • @ImGinaMarie

    Based on Amazon reviews of the scrub, it seems a groomer doesn't always see the reaction from the dog hours after using it.

    • @rkgrant16
      @rkgrant16 3 роки тому +1

      It's safely made to wash around the eyes! You don't want to rub it in the eye, only around the eye. Making sure you rinse throughly as well! My guess is, if there are ANY reactions from it. It's because the groomer/pet parent rubbed it in their eye, or they didn't throughly rinse the face, or it's hair in their eye and not the Facial Scrub Shampoo! This tear less facial shampoo, will not cause a reaction like it would if you use a non facial shampoo!

Then I put her ointment And antibiotics on the eye but not in the eye just around. I do that as well, put them in the sink, get their eyes wet, lather up with gentle face soap and gently rub till it's loosened up. If it's not too irritated, I can use a towel to further loosen up the debris, then take a comb to try and get the rest out.
