One of the biggest issue I have with nightmare dungeon is how the last boss of the dungeon is a joke compared to the elites in the dungeon. You literally don't need to understand their attack pattern because they scale so poorly. IMO, bosses should be the pinnacle experience and I would rather have an easier dungeon overall with a tough bossfight rather than the opposite (For the dungeons that does have bosses). Would also be interesting to have affixes making the boss fight harder. Big fan of having more random dungeon bosses like the butcher. Butcher can be a bit tough because he's hard to kite for some classes and I would rather have a boss with more telegraphed attacks but the concept is great!
I agree but the one issue is if they make bosses too hard you will avoid doing them. Because many of the NM dungeons dont have bosses at the end and dungeons in general so its a hard balance to find but bosses are really weak right now.
you dont want nightmare dungeons to have hard bosses because you need to spam them. let the mechanics-heavy bosses be limited to world bosses, story bosses, capstone, etc. and just fix some of the monster one shot mechanics and annoying dungeon affixes.
As a sorc, the hardest part of the dungeon can be the end bosses lol. Not that they are actually hard, but the def. take longer than a pack of 6 elites.
So happy for u to be where u are right now. Following u since 2014 when ur D3 videos only had some views and watched ur progress to get where u are now! Keep up the good work!
definitely need more endgame material to make leveling from 70-100 more enjoyable. repeating the same dungeon is not something i will enjoy. ;) thanks for the conversation all and have enjoyed watching you HC Wudi :)
Exactly this, wish like the Helltides or Tree of Whispers at that stage were more challenging or maybe even a brutal Tier 5 at lvl 75ish. The open world is less engaging as it's so easy late game (and most of T3), mostly just trash mobs to skip past and instanced dungeons to grind 30 lvls for a pinnacle boss, real anticlimax. Had a blast on playthrough though.
@@SirCharlzTV The godly characters we build only has a sense of accomplishment if we struggled at one point. I'm blowing up the open world Helltide/Tree of Whispers mobs at lvl 72 in T4. So no point in doing the next 28 lvls? Dynamic scaling would just make the enemies level with me. Leaving only instanced dungeons and a pinnacle boss. Maybe T4 should of been set mob levels that are a challenge when you first get there, then you build your char to the point where at lvl 100 you are blowing up the whole screen. Something's odd, feels casual yet it's called Torment.
@@domiasmoth Good builds get to T4 between 60-65, then from 70 the open world is a breeze. Not sure if missed the point?: In every Tier, so for 95% of playtime... the open-world that makes up the crux of D4, is so easy that's it's not particularly engaging/immersive, just run past mobs or spam through them. A challenging open world could be (immersive/engaging/replayable. The only reason to lvl from 70 - 100 is for higher instanced NM dungeons, world bosses & a final 'pinnacle' boss encounter. 70 - 100 endgame feels like poor design to facilitate casual players, I don't believe this current state will keep players engaged.

I hate how group play gets like insane levels of xp and solo is just a drag. They need to buff the leveling for solo play since that's the majority of what people play.
Damage TO vulnerable enemies should be put into same bucket as other TO modifiers. This would allow builds who do have easy sources to benefit from the base effectiveness without making it a neccesity for all builds. If you wanted to add flavor you could even add "increased vulnerabilty effectiveness you apply" in rogue passives or gear in marginal amount to give them a class identity with the mechanic, though you would have to have it not overwritten by other weaker vulns. My 2 cents
Sorcs have a fundamental design and balancing issue that's involved with CC mechanics against mobs / bosses / non CCable objects. It's absolutely absurd.
I wish they had an intermediate hard-core mode where if you die you lose equipment instead your character. Keep the normal hc but bring something in between hc and normal

As a solo player I really apreciate your opinion on SSF and overall importance of solo play in Diablo 4. I hope Blizz will get a look at PoE and how all content can be challenging but at the same time soloable.
Uncovering the map and allowing me to teleport to nightmare dungeons were very positive for me. I probably wouldn't play over the long term if not for those changes.
The teleporting to nightmare dungeons is honestly a really weird decision. If they did i one year into the game maybe, but right off the bat is way too early, this is gonna be the standard for anything they're trying to add to the game from now on, the world is gonna feel super dead super quick unless they buff the shit out of events, which sounds like a pretty bad solution.

Honestly 4 months for the instant scroll is a good timeline, the devs will be working extra hours for sure. People don't tend to understand how much goes into developing these kind of things, changing how resistances work is gonna take a lot of work
Issues with such podcast and ideas are, that (almost) every full time streamer don't have opinions (mostly) for casual players... streamers aren't casual players.. therefore the opinions and ideas have to be carefully reconsidered to be casual friendly. Anyway thank you for the podcast, i enjoyed it.
I'm not usual podcast audience, mostly because there are multiple subjects and I'm only interested in small parts, but hey this whole thing was about diablo4 so I really loved it.
In terms of density, I prefer having to pay attention to elite enemy abilities so if there are a bit more trash mobs, maybe a good compromise. I love doing NM dungeons that are more challenging and less than d3 density feels good when taking on that challenge. Kripp makes great points and I def don't want dumb mobs. I want to have engaging gameplay. I think there should be NM dungeons with an increased density modifier with mobs that can function ok with high density, for those that enjoy that.
I like changes that respect my time as a player. Having sprint charges on mounts, putting in barricades, no tp to dungeons are all design decisions to have us engage with the game longer. That is fine but to many of those things make it jarring. I really hope gameplay and traversing the world becomes more efficient and therefore fun.
I want one of the classes to be Oracle, they fought alongside the Amazons and they've never been really shown much in game. They fought alongside them prior to D2
If you can walk around with your character in a dialog, it is not skippable. If you are stuck in place watching dialog and it wont let you hit ESC to skip then you can use alt f4 or windows key then return to the game window and it will now let you skip.
Krip's point was good about density and I think besides the AI there are a lot of ramping damage mechanics that actually make large density easier than just the AI getting confused. I'd rather there be more butcher like enemies and mini bosses than more trash.
The necro auto aim on console issue goes the other way too. On rogue you cant use shadow step or aim penetrating shot through a pack of enemies with a controller
I think they will absolutely add in 5 stat items in the future, I imagine they will add higher tiers and a byproduct of that will be an extra affix and/or higher rolls of those affixes. Which is fine.
honestly about the corpse accuracy thing, IMO they should just do it like d3 where its like a curse that explodes all corpses in the small area where you cast it
1:16:00 "I hear from people that they hit level 80 druid pulverise werebear build who dont have the shockwave aspect drop for the entire playthrough" This is literally me right now :( and it sucks. I cant even find a tempest roar to change to a different werewolf build. Its painful
What Kripp is saying in POE reminds me of Diablo 2 when you are getting close to 99 and your like 98 and 4/5ths of the way and you die you lose a crap ton of experience and it will take you a while to get back up to that point before you died. On top of loosing your gear after you die in Diablo 2.
Brining up the map in hardcore helltides is deadly. I swear it feels like everytime i bring up the map to check where chests are in helltides, before i can set a damn pin to where i want to go i get nearly killed by a meteor. Wouldnt be so bad if you could see where the chests are while in a safe spot/in town, but you cant. So you have to risk death just checking the map in hardcore helltides. So annoying. Minimap overlay just like D2 is what the game needs.
As a pulverize druid main I completely agree about the affixes being more of an annoyance than an interesting gameplay change. On resource burn you literally can't use your core skill at all since 99% of the time your resources are at 0 😅
That's how hard core or hard mode is when it comes to the lilith boss. One shot mechanics ignores defense so you arent just facerolling and spamming keys randomly and actually have to play and think what you do.
1:32:45 it should be like PoE side quests. They are already out there in the world and you automatically get the quests and can go do them and turn them in from a UI window instead of going to the npc. They already talked about the map overlay in the past. They said that they acknowledge people love it and that games that have it has players using it almost 100% of the time and because of that is why they don't have it. They said they don't want players playing through the map overlay and instead forcing them to look at the game.
Along the lines of something Kripp pointed out, what I felt was always the make or break in every aspect of the game was whether or not you pull a good weapon. You get a good weapon and you stroll through pretty well even with mediocre armor. On the flip side, you can have everything else amazing, and with a mediocre weapon you're going to have a bad time. 1/2 slots vs the rest of them is really weird from a design aspect.
About the content coming in, I think you cannot compare this to PoE because GGG moves at a lightning pace that Blizzard will never replicate. They just talked about taking half a year to come up with something about resitances and that is something GGG would do in a week. I think everyone who expects the seasons to be anything close to GGG content levels is in for torment league at most.
The discussion was extremely diverse, covering various topics. However, I feel that there's one topic that's not talked about or hasn't been addressed anywhere really; the concept of "Paragons". Since after reaching the maximum level. Personally, I believe it would be beneficial to introduce a continuous and limitless "Paragon" (Flex Level) that doesn't grant any additional power to players. This would address the issue of feeling unsatisfied when encountering non-elite enemies at the maximum level, as it currently tends to result in focusing solely on elite hunting builds in order to obtain more legendary items per hour.
@@wudijo Yeah that's a work around also. However I enjoyed the endless D3 paragon grind, however I think there should be a player power cap as we've now gotten in D4 reaching 100. But after that I think it would be fun to have a so called "flex paragon" that just keeps going but doesn't give you any power at all.
I think the issue with renown is that the stuff theyre asking you to do doesnt feel worth doing independently from the renown grind. Honestly, I think rewards from side quests should be on par with tree of whisper turn-ins (relative to your level). Sure most of them are significantly quicker than running tree bounties, but tree bounties are infinitely repeatable and side quests are once per character events.. I think they could also do what ziz said and offer miniscule amouts of renown for doing different/repeat content. Alternatively, they could just attach cosmetic rewards to completing side quests.. people go apeshit for that stuff.
Things that are janky: Wheel interact menu Mount Quests you can't skip dialogue Finding nightmare dungeons on map if you forget to pin it Shared inventory for potions and sigils
Great podcast! In regards to D4 in general im glad they are actually communicating to the players. The more the devs act like Yoshi P and dont give PR answers the better. And lastly I know the all of the players want these new things immediately or as quick as possible. You got to put it into perspective and remember this game has not been even out for teo weeks and weve have been getting so much feedback and changes. It makes me really excited for the Future! Actual last thing. What does everyone think about allowing aspect trading?
Please up vote and discuss this.... My only request/ buff I guess I'd want is for Caltrops to break CC... You literally jump back when you shoot them which definitely looks like it should be a CC breaks. This will also allow more variety in builds for Rogue instead of 99% of end game build nearly requiring Shadowstep.... Or maybe even a legendary aspect that allows this but I would rather it be a permanent addition to the skill for Variety... 🙏
What an excellent idea! Those 2h45" went quick! Valuable insights and much needed positivity to counter Llama's toxic negativity towards D4! I hope you all do it again! :)
What a nice all-star gathering, love you guys! The lack of targeted loot farming is exactly the reason why I haven't been watching any of your build guides, and winging my build instead. Cuz when you tell me I need such and such item, what can i do to obtain it? Pull the slot machine? No, thanks.
re: ssf races - "you can't do that because you can't verify" is a problem even with an ssf mode, because people share accounts with other people while they sleep etc. Best fix for this ofc would be to only allow X hours of play per 24 hours and have a reset happen at a certain time of day, then your complaint might be valid, but still not quite, because you can just have everyone record their gameplay or stream it.
I want to see the Paladin type but the level 15 Class-Gimmick is VOW. And you can take a vow to Inarius, Lilith, or even the Horadrum or something. Vow will affect gameplay the same kinds of ways as the other class mechanics do.
there was a WT 5 in closed beta and it was fun. on the uniques note, personally i had 8 shakos and a couple of uniques from butcher (not the butchers cleaver), the one i couldn't get to drop is doombringer and deathspeaker's pendant for the whole month
people who like the nightmare dungeons might not be built differently, they might just be playing a game they enjoy instead of forcing themselves to run a hundred dungeons because it is their job. I had a good laugh the first time I encountered the giant red crystal. What a creative, new concept for diablo. Rifts were just the same crap over and over and over. at least these have some variety. Not saying I like all of them (cough cough protection bubble) but I hope they keep adding different ones. I would love to see a rare sigil drop that had a "lots of treasure goblins" modifier. maybe with a giant treasure goblin boss??
2:16:10 Thats what Silkroad had like 20 years ago. Premium membership with P2W stats (battle stats and bonus luck for crafting) and guaranteed 1st try login. And somehow it didnt transfered to other games.
my friend had a 9 minute queue on launch day and I called him poor and laughed so funny... that's the only issue besides disconnects... launch was great and druid is super strong when you get trample slide
It makes me really unhappy that there are Ults now, but not a special button for ults. So there isn't really ults.. there is just some extra long cd normal abilities.. cause you have to sacrifice a slot for it no matter what.
Extra long cd? I aimed, as one of the requirements for the build, for no cd on Grizzly Rage. So yeah, they are not different from akarat's champion, epiphany, etc, on d3 at all.

I really wish Kripp could start writing for Maxroll at some point
I like changes that respect my time as a player. Having sprint charges on mounts, putting in barricades, no tp to dungeons are all design decisions to have us engage with the game longer. That is fine but to many of those things make it jarring. I really hope gameplay and traversing the world becomes more efficient and therefore fun.
They already do that for towns, if you look at your shard, the people listed aren’t the same ones you see in town
Monotony is the word you're looking for, not autonomy. Thanks for this video!
Bro thank you for doing this pod if u guys did this once a month that would be amazing fir real
Its painful
reroll barbarian, im sure youve already got the weapons
This whole thing was awesome to listen to. please keep doin these
What Kripp is saying in POE reminds me of Diablo 2 when you are getting close to 99 and your like 98 and 4/5ths of the way and you die you lose a crap ton of experience and it will take you a while to get back up to that point before you died. On top of loosing your gear after you die in Diablo 2.
+ you loose your gear if you die again. That's halfway hardcore for me
Brining up the map in hardcore helltides is deadly.
Of all your great podcasts thus far, this has been my favourite guest combination : )
Wudi is the only guy left still passionate about the game 6 weeks later.
It was nice getting to hear Wud bring a more positive vibe to this podcast.
As a pulverize druid main I completely agree about the affixes being more of an annoyance than an interesting gameplay change. On resource burn you literally can't use your core skill at all since 99% of the time your resources are at 0 😅
That's how hard core or hard mode is when it comes to the lilith boss. One shot mechanics ignores defense so you arent just facerolling and spamming keys randomly and actually have to play and think what you do.
loved it, cant wait for the next one
Awesome!!! Love all of you!! Hope you guys turn this into a monthly/quarterly thing (or every season)
Amazing podcast. Amazing triumph of a release for Diablo. Big transparency from the devs. Excited for more Diablo.
This would address the issue of feeling unsatisfied when encountering non-elite enemies at the maximum level, as it currently tends to result in focusing solely on elite hunting builds in order to obtain more legendary items per hour.
could also just buff drops from normal enemies imo
Things that are janky:
Wheel interact menu
Mount
Quests you can't skip dialogue
Finding nightmare dungeons on map if you forget to pin it
Shared inventory for potions and sigils
when you cant skip quest dialogue try alt tab and come back and you should be able to skip.
What does everyone think about allowing aspect trading?
imagine if they opened up an area in major towns to set up shops to sell items with decent rolls
this is the most powerfully scented collaboration of all time.
What does it smell like.
Rotten sewage probably lmfao
I really liked the side quests /shrug. I'd much rather quest for xp than grind the same dungeon over an over again.
mobility is always OP in ARPGs, i'm pretty sure people will change their opinion the moment they give other classes a lot of mobility options.
Krip, rax and wudi would be really good. Krip really understands the game design
there was a WT 5 in closed beta and it was fun. on the uniques note, personally i had 8 shakos and a couple of uniques from butcher (not the butchers cleaver), the one i couldn't get to drop is doombringer and deathspeaker's pendant for the whole month
people who like the nightmare dungeons might not be built differently, they might just be playing a game they enjoy instead of forcing themselves to run a hundred dungeons because it is their job.
Rhykker should be included at some point.
3 of my fav streamers, and a guy i have utter respect for.. lovely podcast. :-D
2:16:10 Thats what Silkroad had like 20 years ago. Premium membership with P2W stats (battle stats and bonus luck for crafting) and guaranteed 1st try login. And somehow it didnt transfered to other games.
It would be cool if the dg boss was randomly replaced by a main story boss sometimes, with increased challenge and rewards.
Great listen. Need more of this group. Weekly?
Thanks guys, greatly appreciated.
😬👍
Good God we need to make this a regular thing
Warhammer Martyr wasn't exceptional, but the tarot card system for juicing maps was on point. I would love something similar in D4.
12:12 I think the progression plateau is something that will get better and more fleshed out with seasons? (hopefully)
my friend had a 9 minute queue on launch day and I called him poor and laughed
so funny... that's the only issue besides disconnects... launch was great and druid is super strong when you get trample slide
I would love a medium core game mode in Diablo 4! I just don’t want to grind past 70 on another hardcore character.
