I’m happy we have a paladin standing against the evils of Gacha in you Macro, because many streamers are too self-absorbed in their niche career/lifestyle to appreciate how much the average player values their own free time lol If you spend all workweek struggling in front of customers, just to come home and ALSO suffer random slot-machine mechanics in what was supposed to be a fun “game” I purchased for $70, that would just feel ultra-bad
About the companion druid, I think they should share a life link with wolves and take damage for them to give them more survability while exposing the druid as counterpart.
2:59:36 good example for the post season process, Raxx mentioned, should be Altar in D3. Was amazing in Season 28, came back in S30 in a properly nerfed way.
I think it would be cool to have an endgame progression tree (not like skill but progression path). Say you unlock NM dungeons, it pops up and says hey, you can work toward killing Uber Vampire or Uber different-season mechanic. You have to grind for the "key" to their lair to kill them, then if you succeed, you unlock that season's mechanic but not the other season's mechanic. Then in order to level up that season's mechanic, you need to farm NM Dungeon modifier currency that makes that season's mobs appear in the dungeon, and makes it super hard. Completing it gives you XP toward the season mechanic (like vampire power).
For the ssf and duriel rota conversation I think there is a super obvious solution. Have ssf and if you pick it you get higher drop rates on duriel or even just cheaper mats or whatever. Give a small advantage there to make up for the no grouping in duriel runs
To the problem Macro points out at 2:47:00 , a game (other than PoE) that does a great job of continually layering on systems but keeping them relevant is Warframe - a couple of times a year they will add a big new mechanic, and it *is* powercreep, but it's not powercreep in the form of WoW where "the new thing is better than anything before, so you can skip all the old stuff now", it's powercreep by being an addition to everything that came before - new ways to augment your gear, your characters, new ways to get access to things that were very hard to get before, new loot that is not super useful in isolation, but amazing when combined with gear from several previous systems. So the game has had massive powercreep, but it's all cumulative, and if you're a new player, you always have something new to work on because the game slowly opens up more and more systems for you to engage with.
I don't know how exactly, but how 'bout adding content from finished season into paragon boards? Add one or two to choose from and widen build diversity through those. In general, buff paragon boards to be on par to the comparably bloated itemization. Bring both of em closer together in terms of character power. Maybe not 50-59, but make pargon more interesting and/ or meaningful.
Good chat, already saw it on Raxx's channel 🙂. 100% agree with Macro about masterworking and liked Kripps points about shields, but man he needs to chill about HotA 😄. People need to understand that Barb is a melee class and needs big single target damage! HotA size tempering needs to go though or at least reduced to 1/3 or something 🙈
Thanks God Kripparrian is there. Raxx specially just knows how to play Diablo 3, and he tries to make all the games as Diablo 3. Kripparrian is the only one not looking for views for his channel and just asking for “fun” things… all the rests looking for Gauntlet, or closed PTR just to farm views in their channels. THIS IS A GAME FOR THE PLAYERS, not for the f****ng STREAMERS!
Other than it being super slow the biggest problem is going to be the short supply of veiled crystals. PPL will run lvl 70 pit or wahtever trying to want to master some items, reset and so on and then will have to run helltides again for 5 hours just to farm up crystals bc. they wont drop during the pit... thats just dumb
To be fair, I don’t know if people know that spamming summoned Bosses is a solid way to quickly farm up the best Tempering manuals, to the point where I didn’t feel TOO restricted by endgame Similar to Rare Glyphs dropping
About the failing to upgrade. I agree. Increase the materials, remove the chance to fail. That mechanics is bad. Kripp and Macro explained it very well. It won't go away for S4. Maybe at a later date. But, it is a bad mechanic.
You guys are hilarious talking about build complexity in regard to the Necro build being too strong or too easy. I literally play bar right now. I press three shouts and just do not think at all literally I zero brain myself and I blow up everything in the game in one click how is that different?
When they announced leaderboard, i was exciting to have some specific game mode where i can test my character to see how good it is in compare to other players. I liked this even in Last Epoch. You dont have to play this every time, you just get there when you are interested to give it a try with a new character. But they gave us this... I dont think it was that bad, maybe just the fact that it was fixed difficulty as end game content instead of allow anybody participate, i will rather have same leaderboard as it was in D3 Greater Rift, you play, you dont need to worry about loot, and depend on difficulty you finish and time, you have a place. I really hope that they move leaderboards into a Pit. But one thing i hated about it was the fact that it was called "Gauntlet" i dont understand why? Everybody know Gauntlet as event from POE and it was something entirely different, even when you google what does it mean it give you answer like "Gauntlet is a challenging sequence of events or encounters", in my mind it doesnt fit it. I know its just name but it make me mad every time i heard about it. But maybe its just me :)
What I would love to see is battle report for tormented bosses. If it showed you the damage you dealt by what ability what your staggers came from how often etc etc
What's the difference between minions killing everything in the room and barbs unleashing dust devils and clearing the room? If they want to level the playing field, they need to tune all class to play all the content with the same difficulty.
As a Necro main, 100% agree with Wudi about the most brain dead build should never be the strongest, the last thing necro mains want to see is sanctuary with an all necro population. I would say that an exception to that would be if there were a very unique build that's overpowered, but took a lot of creativity and ingenuity to put together and happens to be easy to pilot. On another note, anyone remember in the beta when explosive mist would triggered corpse explosions as fast as you moved over them instead of the delay between when they could be popped? What Raxx is talking about at 42:37 is what I call when a developer thinks of an idea, they play it a couple of times and think "this is good". But they always fail to realize that we, the players, are going to do this hundreds, if not thousands of times. Over hundreds if not thousands of hours. Shit like that gets tedious REAL fast. Nightmare Dungeons. logged into season 3 after playing PTR and realized I had glyphs to level up. NDs immediately felt like a chore or a job that I had to do. Tedious and takes way too long. To level 5-6 glyphs, ya have to do 50-60 NDs back to back, over and over. It just gets so repetitive and very annoying. Nothing in a game should ever feel like a chore or a job. What if they removed glyph xp from NDs and just let the glyphs rank up as you use them. Every monster everywhere in all the game gives a small amount of glyph xp as long as the glyph is socketed in place?? Then make NDs give different rewards at the end. Take the chest idea from Vaults and put them in NDs. Maybe one chest is free and has legendary items and a small chance at a unique. Then have a gear key that’s acquired somewhere. The gear key unlocks a second chest at the end after the boss that has legendary items and a larger chance for a unique. A third chest can be opened with a material key. That has random mats for anything in the game, including summon mats. A fourth chest can be opened with a gold key and it has nothing but gold inside -maybe like 1-2 million gold and only just gold?? As it is now, once my glyphs are leveled, I never ever ever want to set foot in a nightmare dungeon ever again cause it reminds me of the chore I had to do to gain full power for my character. Making glyph xp come from other sources solves this and having different rewards in a nightmare dungeon would make me want to do them every once in a while. Something like this would make me choose to do a nightmare dungeon rather than feel like I have to do them as a job for 2-3 weeks.
You know what is one of the biggest problems of D4 right now? That streamers and 'content creators' are overanalyzing every single inch of the game and thinking that they know what's best for it. Whenever I hear Raxx's D3-inspired takes on how D4 should change, I wanna throw up...
Wudji and kripp are spot on feedback. Agree on kripp. Vanilla d4 cant throw season systems when the game is barebones. D4 main issue is that the actual systems in game are just leveling. Helltides and whispers dont have and end game they are the same from lvl1 -lvl100. Same nightmare dngs. This systems need to evolve into end game. Seasons themes need to have lore. Season 2themes could become guild systems. U cant only be part of one and level those powers in guild quest and items. Zoltan mage guild and u get a pet. Ect…
The devs explicitly said they aren't continuing seasonal content due to power creep and balancing issues. We already have a ton of issues with Barbs being overpowered. If we had seasonal mechanics on top of that there are going to be so many other ways people break the game.

Great talk, however I find it a bit strange the two necro players who openly admit to not being programmers also make sweeping claims about the game's functionality. The only intrinsic property of any model is being incorrect or incomplete. The result you observed was certainly a bug, but you can't say anything more about how it occurs at run time. Without source code and a debugger You're essentially commenting on the existence of a hidden variable, with undefined behavior, which is actively being changed by developers. I find it highly unlikely either of you diagnosed the root cause of a bug in a code base probably containing 100,000+ lines of code.
Making necro minions stronger doesn't mean shit... people will play it for lulz and get bored after couple days when they realise that necro is still a slow, boring, incomplete, brainless class and reroll to rogue or sorc

You guys are missing the obvious with the PTR discussion. We shouldn't be testing ANYTHING. Blizzard should spend real money hiring talented people to do this stuff so it works when they are ready to deliver it, and that is not unreasonable for a company that can spend a billion dollars marketing a single game. Players should never have to test the game ever.
Nah, Blizz hater, everything this company does is an L, people like you will never be content. They do a close PTR and then season hits and everyone complains because of season stuff, and the “talented people” dont know anything and this company is an L, its the same thing theyve been doing.
There is a LARGE gap between QA and PTR testing. They weren't just putting out a PTR to see if stuff WORKS. (Which is QA's job). They put it out to see fan reaction to the systems. You cannot simulate that even with the most talented QA team in the world. Taste is a tough thing to work on when you only have a small sample size. You're thinking about this all wrong. PTR's are a good thing.
Groups never should get bonuses. Players should play in groups because they like to play together and exchange or give each other drops if needed. They never should play in groups for the bonus. Group bonus is the dumbest thing in an ARPG.
Thanks for having me Wudi. Great topics, interesting places were everyone disagreed. Excited for Season 4 and D4 2.0

Amen
The only way to take your opinion seriously is if you offer compelling suggestions instead
So let’s hear them, then
@@corpsefoot758 I don't owe random people on the internet anything.

Thanks for clarifying you don’t even remember the entire podcast hahaha
Wudji and kripp are spot on feedback. Agree on kripp. Vanilla d4 cant throw season systems when the game is barebones. D4 main issue is that the actual systems in game are just leveling. Helltides and whispers dont have and end game they are the same from lvl1 -lvl100. Same nightmare dngs. This systems need to evolve into end game. Seasons themes need to have lore. Season 2themes could become guild systems. U cant only be part of one and level those powers in guild quest and items. Zoltan mage guild and u get a pet. Ect…
D4 is for casuals who play for an hour a day.
@@kevinfinnerty8414 one hour a day is fine. U can push so many vaults per hour brain numbing. The slaying mobs per hour had to get better.
@@kevinfinnerty8414
It’s not casual to push for Pit 200 though, they’re trying to change the playerbase a bit
The devs explicitly said they aren't continuing seasonal content due to power creep and balancing issues. We already have a ton of issues with Barbs being overpowered. If we had seasonal mechanics on top of that there are going to be so many other ways people break the game.
I wish Id have watched this version not Raxx's so he is facing the right way.
No timestamps in a 4h video is crap.

I find it highly unlikely either of you diagnosed the root cause of a bug in a code base probably containing 100,000+ lines of code.
boss rotas SUCK hate it! but i also don't want to play ssf.
What if they increase loot droprates for SSF players? Instantly fixed
MaxRoll people never stop moaning and ruin fun for causal players.
But did any one you play Hardcore PTR I'm with rax the 1 shot is crap
Making necro minions stronger doesn't mean shit... people will play it for lulz and get bored after couple days when they realise that necro is still a slow, boring, incomplete, brainless class and reroll to rogue or sorc
Kripparrian really salty about barbs.
wudi doesnt like pet necro .lol im with him on it pet necro is fun for afk playing but it gets really boring and braindead
So you guys are playing last epoch
what a gammlee if all u stat is HIGH HP , HIGH HP REGEN, HIGH ESSENCE REGEN, omg this is not gamble, this is high chance of getting stupid STAT only.... lmaooo hahahaha
MacroBoi is the literal cancer to the game...complaining about everything. " Oh the animation is too long, oh the vendor is 3m too far" .. yes its called immersion. If you wanna play no animation, no immersion place go plan some 2d trash . Not a single positive thought in 2h
Immersion??😂😂😂
Do you have a single idea how completely disconnected that UI is from actual blacksmithing?
@@corpsefoot758 do you know how having all 4 vendor npcs next to each other and no points of interest in the rest of the city is not immersive and waste of developing time? And ye.. blacksmithing takes time, it aint instant
@@GunsNRoses87AXL
You can have points of interest which are purely aesthetic, that way it keeps lore-nuts happy while not wasting any blaster’s time
You realize the length of the animation and the placement of the vendor is an arbitrary decision made by just some person? Why are you acting like having a streamlined experience is a bad thing?
@@kipz you think its arbitrary decision but the initial town layouts were made to feel real. Points of interest were spread - "the shady dealer - aka the gambling of orbs" was always in the area away from the city center. Just an example to show the designers think about those stuff to make it feel real
Kripp seemed out of place and didn't want to be there.
saw it live and thought the same thing, though Kripp didnt play much of the PTR, not sure how much DM played but i think it was more than Kripp
I don’t know where this is coming from. Kripp was the way he always is, he just turned off his streamer gear.
@@jonesycat1337 yeah I think DM should be there instead of Kripp.
I felt he was rude at times and I really like his insight. I think he has had a longer relationship with blizzard and is cynical at times. But his sense of game systems being engaging is on point imo. He has less emotion invested compared to the other 3 if diablo 4 is a success or failure as well.
@@fhoenixx5185 fken what you think KRIPP was rude are you ok
out of all these people kripp and wudi is the best person when it comes to giving insight about diablo let alone action rpg wtf the dude hosted at exile con and all and you call him rude
u know what i find rude when rax already 10 min digging at d4 coz doesnt fit his narrative and how macro boy was trolling and going off topic you could see in in wudi face why he wanted to change subject
the actual thing went for 6 hours etc
honestly wanna talk about d4 for that long
if anything rax was negative for months along with dm those two dude were so negative towards diablo and hyped LAST EPOCH like no tomorrow gonna be the new diablo killer
and coming from someone who has played last epoch since beta and early access i knew that these guys will play for a week or so then stop ohh look dm stopped and now dont see him hyping last epoch up
and now rax turned around coz of the new ptr
wudi and rob probably the only dude who kept calm throught the massive storm of diablo 4 and krip was always lurking playing here and there but his main game is hearthstone
when you been around kripp and know how he is he says how it is and calls bs and if wasting or fking around he wont take part of it etc
Not even 4 hours? Disappointed.
was 6 it got condensed
Oh damn, which parts did they take out?
@@corpsefoot758 one of them uploaded it now its deleted i just checked through when i saw 5 hours 50min im like im not sitting down to listen to that first hour was gruesome let alone 3 plus hours
You guys need to structure these podcasts better because 4 hours is just way too long.
Complain about no PTR, gets PTR, complains about having PTR, blizz fans cant ever be happy
@@dylan-sk8mt It's almost as if people have different opinions and lumping everyone into one group to make a disingenuous point is stupid.🤪
PTR has been a thing since dawn of wow even, PTR are used by so many gaming companies and there are literally nothing bad about it.
Groups never should get bonuses. Players should play in groups because they like to play together and exchange or give each other drops if needed. They never should play in groups for the bonus. Group bonus is the dumbest thing in an ARPG.
kripp showing how out of touch he is lol.
he is one of the most based players but he still kinda has some old school POV on things
I often agree with him but he tends to thrive on Kontrarrian energy which is not a great way to connect and communicate with others. lol
what did he say? dont have 4h to watch all.
My problem with helltides is picking up the cinders, remember how much better it felt to autopickup on kill the vampire helltide "cinders"?
