My New Year resolution was to wash my dirty dishes before I go to bed every night (don't have a dishwasher). For such a simple thing, this makes such a huge difference.
Paula, I started to do this last year and let me tell you it was such a life changer. Waking up to a clean sink and clean kitchen made my mornings less hectic and mood better. Good luck, and know that you have support from your internet friends!
5 years of multi-tasking messed up my brain and made me burned out. Now I enjoy taking one thing at a time and focusing my mind on 1 problem only. Can't wait for part 2 👍👀
My favorite way to simplify my life is limiting my commitments. I find when I do this I am able to tackle other things that help to simplify my life more.
I am one of the few people that I know that could walk out my front door and go to a homeless shelter or rescue mission and still be just fine. I wouldn't miss anything materially. My life revolves around Zen Buddhism, Zazen meditation, reading, and exercising. Other than basic needs...I keep my needs minimal. But watching you is a must. You're so awesome. Love the singing by the way.
Regarding your last point, Eisenhower matrix, of all the things quadrant II - important but not urgent is the most critical . If we focus on those important activities when they are not urgent, over time we will have very less of quadrant I - important and urgent category activities, which means less crises and less stress.
My favorite tips are to focus on nice-fitting basics for clothing (although admittedly I do have a lot of clothes, but having basics at least ensures my clothes are very wearable). Also, over time I have gotten more realistic about what I will and won't wear. For example, I always wear bras so strapless dresses are a no. I don't like how jeans (and jean skirts and jackets) look on me so I don't buy those any more. If something is itchy it's a no. Etc
I love the 30 hangers idea. Also the short to-do list. I believe if you set aside a certain amount of time per day to do certain tasks, it makes it more of a breeze than a chore to get something that might be a dreaded task finished when you know in your mind that you'll be finished in 20 or so minutes.
Thank you for articulating (and so well) these tips on simplifying, Vera. As you mentioned, it's a process, and I've been engaged in it deliberately for a couple of years now. I'm fascinated by how my progress has positively impacted every aspect of my life, particularly how the 'lighterness-of-being' has cleared the way for greater clarity and contentment in the moment, broadened my horizons as to what is possible, and redefined change as an opportunity to evolve into a better human. Less really is More.
An essentialist quote: ‘you can multitask (I.e empty the dishwasher while talking on the phone) but you can’t multiFOCUS (I.e concentrate on multiple things).’ Another good one is ‘you can do ANYTHING but you can’t do EVERYTHING.’
Great video! Tip #14.... To hang around positive people! I live in a town with no positive people. Everyone is mentally programmed to be the same. So, I just hang out with h me!!!! It's very lonely but necessary. Peace.

Whenever I am too stressed I go to my horse or I take a walk with my little dog or I snuggle with my cat 😀. They are all there for me whenever I am down and they don‘t care what I am, they love me just the way I am.

Excellent tips here. I recently simplified my life by giving up one of my jobs, as it wasn't providing me with joy anymore, and I didn't feel it benefitted me as much as the extra time I would have without it. Also going through a large scale decluttering process, and trying to reduce distractions.
Love the changes you are making to your videos. Very engaging. To simplify my life I cut way back on shopping. I stick to buying the essentials and then make a wish lists of wants. When I decide which wants to get I make sure I have waited for a month or so. Then intentionally shop for it and enjoy the process of finding what I want.
Take charge of your finances. stop comparing to others. if a task takes less than five minutes do it now. I will take these 3 tips from this video as of now. I feel most of my life will be simplified. Thanks, Vera. Waiting for the next video. Loved the start of your video too. 😊😀
I think it is sometimes helpful to compare myself with others, I use to do that when I am feeling stressed that I don't do enough and are just watching UA-cam for an evening, then I compare with other people that are watching TV every evening in the week and then I feel less pressure to do stuff when I really need some down time :-)
Sounds like that makes sense too! 😊 The problem with comparison is that we often tend to compare selectively, seeing only the qualities in others we feel we lack. But if it helps you, then I'd say great! 😄✌🏻🌿 Thanks for sharing
Thank you Vera always excellent contents, my tip is, i only put 3 things on my list per day, if any get left they go onto the next day, still only 3 things, it never seems to overwhelm me i know i will get to it within a day or two, i keep on top of things by having no clutter, paper work is kept simple and dealt with straight away and shredded every 3months so its never a mountain or as with other things its rarely out of hand, what do they say nip it in the bud, i am not super clean but very tidy and thats good enough for me, i want to take control of my finances this year and work less, i realised i usually have enough and to guard against greed and clutter it is a question i often ask myself do i really need this etc, thankyou again for all your tips the ruminating one really spoke to me be blessed love Jacqueline xxxxxx

I want to learn how to stop multitasking. It's actually super unproductive. I've always been this way, and I have ADD so it's hard focusing on one task at a time, but I'm really going to try. Lovely video!
Many people have the same problem. I am also struggling to single-focusing myself. Lately, when I am working (mostly with documents) I listen to white noise. My favourite one is thunder storm sounds, it really calms me and distract my boredom without letting me off-focus... since white noise stimulates different area in your brain compare to reading (some studies said). Maybe you can try...
Haha yes I get stressed too sometimes like everyone, but these lessons do help me a lot in dealing with everything. I'm a pretty relaxed person most of the time because of it
Being around those that make us feel better is not always the best. A lot of the time others who are in need, may bring us down, but we can bring them up! It's not always about what makes us feel great...

For daily to do list, be realistic. Choose top 3 only, as priority. Allow other things to move to next day, or next week , if needed. Chronic fatigue or illness, or change in kids schedule or urget Dr appointment can all "throw you off". With realistic top 3 only per day, you can adjust, and become less overwhelm. Delegate as well. Spouse, kids, etc can all do some chores, as well.

For daily to do list, be realistic. Choose top 3 only, as priority. Allow other things to move to next day, or next week , if needed. Chronic fatigue or illness, or change in kids schedule or urget Dr appointment can all "throw you off". With realistic top 3 only per day, you can adjust, and become less overwhelm. Delegate as well. Spouse, kids, etc can all do some chores, as well.
