Man thank you for the video I had the same problem !!! I changed three water pumps and three different thermostats and my temperature gauge would go up underload. This is the second video I seen that said to replace it with a Ford thermostat.

How did you get the thermostat and O ring to stay in while you tighten it back up.

Appreciate this video. I was so confused when I received my new OEM thermostat. Looked different and had a fear of causing the fan to run on high all day. But by the looks of your vid, it makes no difference i suppose. Can this one go in at whatever way? (Because some vehicles require the T-stat to go in a certain way)

Im having some weird temp issues with my 2014 F150 3.5L. Temp climbs up to almost red but not quite... Trans never gets over 204f, no CEL no limp mode ever. NEW cylinder head temps sensor , and all fuses and relays replaced on the fan cooling circuit. Waterpump and thermostat are only 2 years old however not sure my shop used motorcraft?!?

Can you just fix the o ring?

So in the original video I replaced that sensor and it was the fix. However about six months after that it happened again. So I went after the ac evaporator valve. It has been fixed ever since.

The bearing on my water pump started to squeal, so I replaced it. While I was in this part of the engine I replaced a few soft hoses and the thermostat. Soon learned you can use nothing but motor craft when it comes to the thermostat. The mechanic at Ford told me that it was most likely the problem. So I replaced the brand new duralast with the motor craft. I haven't had a problem since. I hope this helps

@@geraldmorris5569 ya i picked up a thermostat from ford aswell and i looked and mine is some type of plastic like yours. Hopfully it does the trick because the waterpump looks difficult. , ive had trouble with the cooling system on this coyote , heater core, oil cooler let go and put oil in everything 🤦‍♂️
Other then all that its pretty awesome and hopefully one day it will migrate into my foxbody

just confirmed from my experience; mechanic put in an aftermarket thermostat. Went to ford, got the correct one and all is good again. 2012 5.0 f150

run a stant 190 with new green prestone coolant which Ford switched to again. Never change again.

Only Ford would make changing a thermostat so damn hard. Who puts it facing DOWN at an angle so the oring falls out!!?

These 09-13 models are garbage. I've replaced my water pump and thermostat 4 times since 2015 in my 2013 XLT 5.0. last time I changed both was last winter. Guess what I'm about to do in Ohio 3 degree weather? Yup you guessed it!
