I enjoy your videos a lot I miss when grouse were here in nc but they’ve faded as the quail did love seeing grouse tho I think their my favorite bird wished I’d have gotten mine mounted from when I was 10 if only we could’ve known the things we do now
I’m in NC also I lived in western NC back in the 80’s early 90’s in a small community Nantahala the grouse hunting was pretty good back then They say now it’s hard to find any
great habitat. me and my doh can hunt all day long for a flush or two in VA. Unmanaged forest is not cool. I am going to head North some day for a grouse camp.
filson double tin chaps, will outlast you, highly recommend, pro tip: anytime you have a visual on a grouse, shoot, shoot till your out of ammo, "BRING HIM DOWN"
He’s a flusher through and through. Great nose but I never had him at any schools to train and point and didn’t know how to self teach that. I think he might have had subtle points here and there but mostly flusher.
OnX has been a lifesaver. I use it to look for public land with good aspen, popple, and young growth cover that border some more piney areas (usually spruces). Takes a lot of getting out and walking around!
Would love to go grouse hunting with you if you’re down! I’m in northern Wisconsin. Let me know if you’re down! I have a lab that’s 1 year old and trained!
Sounds like a blast. My year is pretty booked through til past the holidays but possibly in the future. I’ve heard great things about northern wisconsin grouse!
I really enjoy your videos. I'm headed up to northern Michigan the next 2 weekends in a row myself with my Brittany.
Thank you, I’m glad others can enjoy them. Good luck up there!
