What a adorable floor mop
The cutest wee floor mop I’ve ever seen! She was such a good girl too, well done Francine 💞
Floor mop with a tongue
@@jefftonsmanthey are the best kind😂
@@jefftonsman For those stubborn spots!
@@jefftonsmanextra scrubbing power
The fact this lady was able to chop down a 6 hour job to a 6 min video ... she definitely loves us ❤ thank you for all you do
I'd bet a very significant portion of that time was in the drying crate.
4:15 yep! 😄
😂😂❤
The ponytail did it for me. All things considered Francine was a super patient girl! ❤
I liked the ponytail too but I think it should have a pink bow.
@@addison63842 ponytails with bows would've looked super cute ❤
Is it okay for this breed anyway or just to please humans once again ...
@shingala8544 Helps her to see & it's Not painful to the dog
@@addison6384 A pink bow would look great on her.
Poor doggo.. Enduring six hours of handling... You two, both the groomee and groomer are amazing!
Yes, thats what I thought, too. On one hand V. shaves all the poor matted doggos, because it hurts so much, on the other hand people breed those animals because its chic? The aspekt every dread has to be ripped on and the dog has to sit there 6 hours weeping is a no go for me. Once they were Wolves, now they are entertaining dishmops, sad.
@@yvs3913 These dogs have some pretty tough skin so pulling apart the cords doesn't hurt. Their fur naturally cord so it's not the same as when people dread their hair.
I think that a portion of that six hours was being dried in the crate. So it probably wasn't a full six hours of being in the bath or on the table.
@@toneddefpulling and cutting those damn cords looked like a good few hours to me. I agree, it’s the maintenance nobody needs in their life, be you a dog or a person. That said, Francine is lovely.
No, the Puli is an ancient breed. They are not bred because it's chic. They're bred like this because people want to preserve a herding heritage breed which is a national cultural treasure. Simila6 like people want to preserve the Basenji and the Afgan Hound because they are cultural treasures and their coat serves a specific purpose for the working breed.
1:00 Love her little eyes peeking out from all that floof. 😂❤
Back in the early 1990s, I was at a weeklong obedience camp with a multi-group winning Komondor from Oklahoma--red dirt country. When his owner was campaigning him in the breed ring, she had to keep his cords rolled in papers to keep them from staining with the red dirt. That way, it cut her grooming time down to 48 hours per month. Before she figured out the rolling his cords in paper trick, she figured she was spending over 125 hours per month grooming him, in part because she refused to deprive him of living a normal active life. And people think Poodles in a show coat are high maintenance!
@@ChiefHerzensCoach I owned and showed three dogs to their AKC championships and a couple more dogs that had points but didn't finish due to my life events (no lack of merit on their parts).
All of my conformation dogs lived normal lives and looked on the breed ring as their chance to reap the admiration they believed was their natural due. I mean, running in circles for liver and praise? That's like money for nuthin' and yer chicks fer free!
At the same time my various dogs were being campaigned, they were also playing in obedience, herding, tracking, schutzhund (bitework is almost too much fun), swimming in ponds and hiking on a regular basis. Oh, and being my service dog. Not every dog participated in every activity (except swimming and hiking) but they were all living happy, active lives.
@@ChiefHerzensCoach not that i don't agree with your point but cording wasn't developed for the show ring. pulis are originally herding dogs; the corded coat helped them thermoregulate and protect from predator attacks. it's not a purely aesthetic invention.
Thank you for posting this. I had no idea that the cords had actual reason for being other than esthetic. @@triangleshiny
@@GrainneDhub-ll6vwmy shih tzu would love the show ring purely for the admiration. She may be 100% shih tzu but her conception was undocumented lol, she's nearly 12, & is absolutely not well behaved enough (she's not food motivated lol). She just wants the admiration & attention. I guess I should start taking her to pet parades, now that she's adequately socialized (my folks did not understand how long she would live & insisted she was a senior dog at 5 and just catered to her whims lol, she's doing well at tolerating other animals now tho).
@@triangleshinySame for poodle's cut...it wasn't developed for the ring, though it was perfected to be what we see now for the ring. It was to protect their body/joints while hunting/swimming.
It's funny watching these particular dogs as an African American..🤭. This is very close to grooming our locs. It just tickles me watching the process on a dog. His ponytail was too cute😂
I have locs, and this reminds me of maintenance I did early on in the “young” stages. But also what I’ve seen folks who semi-free form do. This was really interesting to see the similarities!
I was looking for a comment like this! I've only had my locs for 9 months and this reminds me of getting my hair retwisted the way she has to work on each cord one by one
I was looking for this comment! I almost expected her to braid and band the cords before washing 😄
My dog's fur has some similarities to hair of people with black descent (superfine, ultra curly, tangles like a MF when wet). I've considered asking the black community for care tips, but always worried that it would be considered rude. Really cool to hear that there are more parallels!
@@rei_cirith Honestly if you look up what they and the Komondor look like when they aren't corded, the comparison is even more striking.
as a Hungarian, it was so weird to see a puli this short :D I'm used to them having floor-sweeping fur. But then again, I don't think all those pulis I saw as a child in rural villages were this well taken care of!
I imagine the puli in rural areas of Hungary are still used as working dogs yeah? I bet this little lady is probably pampered and stays inside most days. Probably not herding animals although she might enjoy that kind of work.
@@Miss_Kisa94 Yes, you're right about them still working. In the are I live in (small town surrounded by lots of villages and farmland), I only see pulis as working dogs, herding animals.
This is also a very young dog, and it’s been my understanding (from a Puli breeder/exhibitor friend) that it can take up to five or six years to grow a full length coat.
Thank you for helping this dog find her eyeballs.
When I saw 6 hours in the title I expected a massive beast of a dog, but she's a cute little fluff ball! It must be so much work to properly maintain her cords. You, Francine, and her owner have a lot of patience. Good job.
The Komomdorok are the big white ones. Probably way more than 6 hours for those.
Francine reminds me of our Puli, Miska.
We used to give him a similar summer haircut every May.
He was a real diva and we had to blackmail him with small cubes of cheese otherwise he didn't wanted to cooperate :D
You are doing a great job with these corded dogs!
I mean, who wouldn't want to be pampered and fed cubes of cheese?
@@loonybinreject I'll have to tell my hairdresser about the cheese thing!
Wow,you gave him a Hungarian name! That's so cute!
I mean...you could probably blackmail me with cheese too 😅
It's wonderful to see a properly cared for coat, because after twenty years in the veterinary field we had a particular client with multiple pulis -- who should not have owned them -- and it was not the poor dogs' faults they were unfortunately a bit stinky and had tons of skin issues because of lack of care. No matter how much client education -- gentle and firm-- changed the pets' care or prevented more pulis being added to their pack. I adore how Vanessa doesn't shame owners, but sadly in the case of these miserable patients we had, it was inexcusable how these sweet dogs were treated.
There's a reason not to shame them ya know
Could you not have reported their lack of care?
@@vamp97 It was a tricky situation to say the least. There was definitely the concern that the lack of care provided to the dogs, trickled into other areas involving caretaking by the owners. I will reiterate that the owners I critiqued have zero to do with the video, in addition they were never "shamed" by our staff and I applaud Vanessa for showcasing a huge variety of grooms from which we can all learn while continuing to remind us gently to refrain from the shame and blame game.
Wow! I always wondered how people maintained corded dogs, thinking of the Puli specifically. Beautiful job .
My mom's family is Hungarian. I imagine maintenance of a Puli or a Komondor would involve a lot of shots of palinka (the native liquor).
@@ShelleyScreen Then you know my wisdom. As a fellow Hungarian who lives abroad now, I discovered the amazing relaxing effects of pálinka on my head. Put some of it onto your forehead and it will relax your head in a few minutes amazingly. It even gets rid of headache. 😌
Also, ever since I started to watch this channel, I've been waiting for a proper Puli and Komondor groom. The celebration I did mentally and in the comments was great. 😂🤩
@@rebekadoczi2136 Full confession- I am Hungarian by... assimilation, shall we say. My mom is my dad's 2nd wife. But everyone was just like "okay, cool, you're one of us now." That's something you can't always get in other places. And little things like your tip about the palinka are some of the best parts- home-grown factoids that you can't get anywhere else.
Also, the Komondor video- that owner must have the patience of a saint to have gotten a Komondor as his first dog ever.
@@ShelleyScreen well, we can be very welcoming. 😄 I mean, our country is a little, (weak) and barely known one. Every sane minded Hungarian leaves it because of the f@cked up government and those of us who are not assholes tend to be very helpful and welcoming with each other. The small village spirit and trust what people used to have in the past is something we still have in many parts of Hungary nowadays since we still have a lot of the "old ways knowledge" especially in the elderly generation.
I just say this: 1. Never try to learn Hungarian because it has no right to be as hard as it is and I only learned english well when I was a teenager. 💀
2: Many spirits are a multitool basically. Mother now only uses pálinka if she has a herpes. it's good to use instead of aceton on nails, it disinfects your throat if you're sick (in old times people would boil up a little pálinka with honey and had that for sickness), nobody does this but TRUST ME, the well scented pálinka is heavenly in some hot chocolate, like cherry pálinka and it's even good with tea. Oh, and for muscle burn too after workout. It widens the blood veins.
Anyway, ask away for further knowledge your Hungarian relatives because we know a lot of useful things regarding nature. Have a nice holiday, pal!
Viszlát! 😄👋
@@rebekadoczi2136Nos, eddig sose gondoltam arra hogy egy jó pálinkával zárjam az edzést, de mostmár van egy alternatívám ezek szerint 😂
I don't know how you (or the dog!) have the patience for something like this, but WOW what a result!
I’d love to see her in about 8 months with her grownup cords looking all proper. Francine did a great job for her first grown up haircut.
Francine is adorable and you did a fantastic groom , but I can’t imagine dealing with a floor mop 😂. Love your channel 🌟💕🐾
6 hours?!! 😳 God bless y'all!! 🤗🙏🏾
Really fascinating to see the progress from puppy coat to adult coat. I’ve also never seen a Puli’s face and they are ADORABLE!!
Francine and I look alike since I am beginning my locs❤I must say Francine is so much cuter😊
I have a Havanese and thought he was a mop but this dog is the real deal! That’s a lot of work.
I mean this in the most loving, awed way: these dogs always reminded me of the turning brushes in car washes
❤
the after look is amazing, francine is such a good girl and so adorable
Most adorable floor mop
Francine is looking stunning!
Every time you groom a Hungarian breed I get more and more excited for you to groom a pumi. My family has a nine-year-old pumi at home, and I want this incredible breed to get more of the appreciation and recognition it deserves.
I love pumi! Pumis? Not sure they plural but they're adorable and remind me of bunnies 😂 but they're rare where I live. I'd probably have to go to Hungary to actually get one.
@@Miss_Kisa94 I don't know any Hungarian, but I think it's _pumik_ (and therefore _pulik_ as well), but please don't quote me on this. In any case, I'm not actually Hungarian myself, either. There are sizeable pumi populations here in Finland and over in Sweden.
@@Acidfrog475 lol I technically am Hungarian my grandmother immigrated during the war 😅 sadly she passed before she could teach me any Hungarian so I'm afraid I can't help you with the vocabulary either. But I don't think I've ever seen a pumi in America before.
@@Acidfrog475You are correct about the plural form being “Pulik” and “Pumik.” 😉
@@Miss_Kisa94 I mean, when you use Hungarian words in English, I don't think you need to use the original plural form... It's not like museum musea or uterus, uterii or something... K in Hungarian is a totally normal plural. Vizsla vizslák, puli pulik, pumi pumik, komondor, komondorok, kuvasz, kuvaszok... In Hungarian. In English I would use Vizslas, pulis, pumis, komondors, kuvasz idk (because sz in Hungarian is pronounced as S in English... Kuvaszs looks very wrong, so maybe kuvaszes? lol I don't know.)
I was born and raised in Hungary.
Forget the Swiffer, it’s the Francine mop😆😆❤️
The most cutest floor mop ever!
Wow, you got some patience. The dog is like just shave me already, lol
Francine really IS fabulous! What a sweetheart! Love her energy in the yard and her cords are already bouncing and swaying as she runs ! Much better with those ends off! Great job!
That's a mop alright
You are an absolute saint for your patience. I could not.
Oh my. Oh my goodness. This is something else. Francine is adorable. Incredible commitment by owners to keep her cords. Whew.
Outstanding groom❤
Now I know that if I ever get a dog, it will be hairless. Good video. You have a lot of patience. I doubt if many groomers are willing to go to that much trouble.
even hairless need grooming! they have to be bathed at least once a week, and often more. plus they need their sunscreen every day it's sunny outside. A short-haired dog like a lab or boston terrier is probably the easiest to maintain
😂
@@platedlizard, although Labs shed copious amounts of fur constantly.
Hairless dogs usually require more maintenance
Greyhounds, whippets and Italian greyhounds are great dogs for people that want a low maintenance canine companion. You just have to make sure they have an adequate wardrobe for cold weather: sweaters, coats, pajamas, etc, plus boots for those extra cold days which are a good idea for pretty much any breed of dog. I had a greyhound for 4 1/2 years before she passed at 7 years old from cancer, and she just needed a bath every couple of months, a waterless shampoo sometimes in between, and occasional brushing to loosen up the shed fur. Very low maintenance, indoor dogs that sleep most of the day, little to no drooling and no wet dog smell as they don't produce the oils that cause the smell.
Such a sweet dog! And such a big job! Can you imagine if the dog wasn’t so calm?
500 years later...HAHAHAHAH Love this channel, you are fantastic!!!!!😍
Your patience and professionalism, coupled with your compassion for the critters you groom is so impressive. It's why I keep coming back. 🙂
The mop whisperer.
If there us a Guinness record for groomer endurance, Vanessa would be the top contender 😅.
That’s a grooming work I never saw before. Amazing.
Francine is fabulous and major respect to the owners willing to care of this type of coat.
I love the way her corded fur bounces when she runs. Also that time-lapse was very satisfying.
This doggie still has better hair than I do 😂
Wow that kind of dog needs a very very dedicated owner
The 3rd hungarian doggo on this channel. Only 6 to go!
Szerezd meg hát mind, PO KE MON x'D
There are a lot of reasons for having your dog professionally groomed.
But this has got to be the best. I can't imagine many owners who would have the knowledge, skill or patience for the job.
What a sweet, gorgeous floor mop! She's seriously very pretty & so very well mannered. I have gone by the nickname Francine & am glad this Francine was such a lovely ambassador for our name. Hehe
My neighbor has a Puli I never appreciated the work they must put into their perfect dust mop.
I have never seen so many different dog breeds except an online dog show! I have learned so much from watching your channel in addition to all the enjoyment of seeing so many amazing transformations! Another cutie pie but what a job! 💕👍👌
She is adorable.
❤.
And her ponytail is super cute.
What a sweet pup. Beautiful temperment. Francine enjoys her shorter fur style.😁
A sweeter, more adorable mop I have never seen! Francine is gorgeous and such a good girl. Wonderful job, Vanessa!
love the run in your back yard showed how well you did the cords , the cords bounced so beautifully.
How. Does. She. See?
I know she does this for free....but I hope she also has a giant tip jar for the customers, lol.
Just wanted to let you know, if customers want to tip, Vanessa asks them to donate to an animal rescue! Isn't that amazing!!
A very well behaved pup for such a long job.
I can only imagine the amount of maintenance this type of fur requires. Great job to both you and the owner!
Oh my goodness, what a gorgeous girl! 😍
And as much as I love the idea of never having to sweep my floors again, I'm also reminded that I prefer a low-to-no maintenance coat in my life 😅
What a beautiful dust mop 😂 she is so sweet and you are so patient ❤
Oh, she looks quite nice like this!
Apparently corded coats are so thick that fleas and ticks can't get to the dog's skin so their coats are pest repellent. It must be hard to find a groomer willing to work on a corded coat. Great job!
Oh my goodness, the dedication it takes to be a groomer for and the owner/parent of a corded dog. Wow. 💚💚
what a good dog, 6 hours..
if my trip to the barber was 6 hours,
I would go crazy
Somehow, I think we enjoyed it more than you did ! Thank you.
Thank you for the videos and the explanations about cords. I forwarded this video to a friend who had argued that it was cruel to dreadlock a dog when I was trying to explain the difference between cords and dreads and that some dogs naturally grow cords. They didn't believe me until after they saw you grooming and explaining. Beautiful grooming job as always and I look forward to your next video!!!!
💕❤❣💖💓
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! The way you distinguished cords on an Hungarian Pulley from locs or dreaded human hair is appreciated. Too many people confuse matted hair to locs or cords to locked hair. Just because you might have the appropriate hair texture to loc your hair *it doesn't just happen* it takes hours of commitment of washing, conditioning, steaming, drying and twisting hair. It's time consuming and very expensive. I hope some folks who are considering getting this dog will see your excellent work and understand that cords do not just happen and your not looking at matted hair thats free to grow into a style What your looking at on a groomed dog is *a groom* that is styled clean and cared for in a particular way. Also dog cords are *NOT* locs... the distinction is simply one is a dog and one is a human. I hope more folks use the appropriate language. Thank you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Puli
@@shingala8544 toe-may-tah 🍅
Love your channel and your grooms! The breed Puli is pronounced Pooh-lee, like Winnie-the-pooh. Interestingly, the plural is "Pulik". (Nope. Not trolling- it's true!) 😄
OH MY! Looks like a lot of upkeep. glad she's a good pup!
You keep getting unicorn Pulis I think. My only experience was a stubborn, impossible to train one. Of course I’m always happy to see positive representatives of a breed, and I also hope potential owners will do careful research…
in Hungary that's certainly the stereotype, that they're extremely stubborn. very 1 person centered, only listening to 1 owner. so eg. not the best family dog. not the worst either, like they do tolerate kids, but they just don't love them necessarily.
6 hours! 😮 Amazing. ❤ Francine looks so refined and stylish after her groom ❣️
I love corded doggies so cute 😊❤one day I hope to get one as we can match cause I have cords on my head (dreadlocks ) Francine is so good girl .
i'm so glad you put her fur in a ponytail..poor dog can't see with that hanging down.
WOW !! I'm exhausted just watching this. Great job as always,Vanessa. I hope the owner doesn't come back every month. ( only kidding !)
Francine looked fantastic after her groom! Well done Vanessa. BTW, I love the name Francine! She's a lovely girl and was a 'good girl' during her groom.❤❤❤❤
pulis are such gorgeous little dogs, but oof. 6 hours and she's still a puppy with cords that couldn't be stripped is *rough*.
I love this happy eyeless muppet
I meet a dog owner with two corded standard poodles. I don't understand the kind of person who has that level of time and commitment. It is a full time job. 🥰
Well, these 6 hours just flew by for me. How about for you? 😁
What a cute mop! 😍 She looked amazing afterwards. Six hours - wow! It was well worth it for sure.
The thing about puli-s is that they are hella smart. He probably perfectly understood what was happening. I had a puli mix a long time ago and he was a genius.
Yourself and Francine both showed the patience of Job. Unreal!
Cute and well behaved. 💕❤💕
This is exactly why I want you to do a spanish water dog. I have one and don't like the idea of shaving her down twice a year as breeders suggest.
I grew up with a Puli, and want one now. I love that you do Pulis! But I about spit my soda out when I read "500 years later" LOL
That is one incredible floor mop!! If you don't rise to sainthood at some point, I will be amazed and disappointed. Your level of patience is astounding Vanessa, and I look forward to your next video.
It must take a lot of time to care for these dogs.
SIX HOURS?!?!?! You have the patience of a saint!!
Absolutely beautiful pup, you did an amazing job. I have dreadlocks and when two fuse together we call it congos
Her little face is awesome! What a cutie! I'd be too scared to have a corded breed. I'd be afraid of ruining the coat. But they are beautiful!
Francine did great! So patient. ❤ The first dog my grandson ever got to pet was a Puli. I've always admired them and the Komondor breed. I'd never be a good owner of one though. My arthritis and those cords would hurt too much.
Your professionalism and kindness is to be emulated💕😊
Francine was so good . Her ponytail reminds me of how Pebbles Flintstone wears her hair
This dog literally has locs!! Ahh it’s so funny watching this video because when I go a long time without getting a retwist my locs will combine at the root and it’s a PAIN to pull them apart. Also, it’s so interesting to see that some of this dogs “locs” haven’t fully matured. Very different texture and density of matured locs vs starters. I contemplated getting this breed but my heart is stuck on a standard poodle and keeping a low cut. My head is enough to deal with already lol
You have the patience of a saint. She is beautiful. Thank you for being you.
Both of you would need a rest after that, but such a good job done. Xx😊
Girl, you did that for FREE?!?! Good bless you!
She does look like a mop. The cutest little mop I’ve ever seen
Franciiiiine! Love Pulis.
Your are a whole loctician!!!❤ ….keeping locs clean and neat is a challenge!!!!
Thank you so much for showcasing the same type of dog i have! I have such a huge fear of taking him to a groomer and them shaving his whole body because hes 15 and we won't have enough years left in his life to actually grow them out back to where they are today.
Francine reminded me of one of those swiffer things for dusting🤣🤣🤣
