Love this documentary!! When I need a mellow night I'll put this on my old DVD and just have a few drinks and drift off. Their voices sooth me so much. Especially when Ridley or sigourney are talking. Ahhhhhh
As much as I love John Heard and his performance, Jon Finch would have been a wonderful Kane, with his dashing looks. The women in the audience would have been doubly crushed by his quick death.
i wish Jon Finch shouldn't never I've sick and Jon Finch would I've played kane friend in Alien in 1979 and John hurt can be Kane in Alien 1978 and Alien in 1979 and i wish they put a sexy white blonde Women with blue eyes in Alien in 1978 and Alien in 1979 and i will definitely love Alien in 1979 movie🤢😷
In another of these "Making of Alien" posts it is mentioned that Harrison Ford was tapped to play the role of Captain Dallas! Of course Ford turned it down, to his credit. His reason was he didn't want to be typecast by playing yet another sci-fi role, so it went to Tom Skerritt instead.
Tom Skerrit's comments are interesting, he said that initially that Ridley Scott was NOt associated with the film, even though Ridley Scott was NOT known in Hollywood?? but he then said that the budget was too low for him, only when he got called back and that the budget was doubled that Tom was interested, Skeritt mentioned it was also because ridley scott was associated with the film,, i think the money drew him to the movie in the end!! LOL
I think John Hurt is very handsome, but I guess that's just me. I'm probably one of the few that WERE crushed by his quick death lol. I'm still sad that he's gone. :(
Yeah...? LOL. John Hurt has been in so many films after this one and before this one. Why would I say something as stupid and uninformed as that? I love John Hurt, I was just expressing my sadness of his character dying so earlier and quickly in the film.

It was decades before I could watch Ian Holm in anything else without automatically distrusting him. He plays evil SO well.
Ridley Scott is such an awesome guy. I love when he smokes cigars during his interviews. ^^

Hurt was great, but I think Finch would've been as well. He had an intensity that would've worked well for Kane.
