The rain and the chains.... so little to make such an enormous difference. The chain sounds make it chilling. There's just something spine tingling about it.
I still remeber seeing in movies, the corridor scenes where Ripley is trying to get to safety ... i was there with Ripley, i was so absorbed by this movie. Scared the living bejesus off me. Best Horror movie eve.r
05:46 - Dallas Egg Scene ---- there's actually very similar scene in Alien Resurrection, when Ripley finds rest of the clones and kills them with a flamethrower. Interesting...
I know its been 11 months since your post but I believe you're right and for me its more frightening that this thing the Alien does not need a reproductive process, as to no queen, and really emphasizes the asexual nature of the creature and like Ash says, it really make it the perfect weapon.
@KyleGibbons91 Basically a subtext in Alien. When Lambert asked "What happened to the rest of the crew?" The idea was 'the crew' were turned into eggs. If Aliens are weapons in some distant war, then it does make perfect sense. You turn all the opposing forces into immobile pods. Anyone else who comes by suffers the same fate. Besides, there's nothing that stops any other species from destroying themselves if left unchecked for that matter. Destroying food supplies, or eating up resources.

Jerry Goldsmith's anecdote about watching Brett's scene is gold! 😁
Playing Alien Isolation and I’m so happy they kept the original scores and sound effects .
