I’ve had this for some months now, and I’m convinced this is the best on the market because of its ability to cut through a mix, versatility, and how organic is sounds. It doesn’t suck your lows and dim your highs...Simply the best on the market

I have an earlier version of this pedal. Looks like they've made a few tweaks but the sound is very similar. Has a wonderfully wet and earthy sound!

This is best one on the market by a mile. Nothing else is even close. It's that up/down switch. I don't know why that isn't on every single one.

I think that´s exactly the best couple for that test: Lars+Envelope=Awesomness and Gregor... there is no known cure for that addiction, you have to live with it to the funky end :-(

I own a C4....Dude I gotta say....I think the spectrum does filters better than the C4
@@spencerherbert3585 Really? SA says the C4 has the very exact Intelligent Filter inside, it should sound identical. Hmmm...
The C4 does filters better than my hx stomp, also does octaves better. Also does poly tracking better. Also can be tweaked via an app on any of my devices through a Bluetooth transmitter under my board. I’m completely thrilled with it. I’m running the C4 and a Darkglass VMT (first gen with the Era knob) on separate channels of the hx stomp’s loop.
Cons: can no longer run the loop as an aux in for jamming along with tunes,
have to use a loop block to access each of the other pedals,
which means you’re tied into the stomp’s ecosystem and user interface
Pros: significantly more robust routing options on where to place the pedals within the chain inside the hx stomp,
using the stomp’s control setup for blending sounds and recalling snapshots for variations
a little less tap dancing when changing sounds on the fly,
The stomp’s interface is quite well done once you get used to it a bit.
All this (and way more) fits on a mono liteXL board carried in a Moog theremin gigbag. I’m so happy with my rig right now.
Gotta say I own both C4 & SPECTRUM and enjoy the massively deep creative opportunities with both is reality staggering! Combining both is like putting the wonder twins power together...Super Activate! Respectfully I'm still scratching the surfaces of both fantastic pedals with a wide open creative palate✌
The Envelope Filter addiction struggle is real! LOL!
I was never able to find an envelope filter that I like. Finally, few weeks ago, while messing around with plugins, I found out that the sound I had in mind was a envelope phaser (thanks to the Soundtoys Phase Mistress for opening my eyes). Does anyone know a pedal envelop that uses phase modulation instead of a resonant filter?
PS: my addiction is with octavers... Now I have only one, but there was a time when I had 4 in my board...
I just bought a Bi-Phase from Musitronics, I guess that’s what you want. That being said, don’t look it up... the prices are beyond everything I ever thought I’d pay for an effect AND the size is similar to my entire studio board
Oh man, this filter makes me smile. I love 3 Leaf Audio. I had an issue with my Wonder Love pedal where it wasn't behaving properly with my Sterling HH. I emailed Spencer asking if he knew what was up and he told me it was an issue he'd solved, just send him the pedal. He fixed it almost 2 years after my purchase date for free. That was some 5-6 years ago...I still recommend 3 Leaf any time I get the chance.

Man I love the idea behind slap bass but I rather dislike how it sounds, this does a lot to mellow out the struck wire/star wars blaster sound into something I could see myself using more often.
Hey there, i feel you on slap bass tones not always being as appealing as the rhythmic possibilities and would suggest trying some slap on flats. Either a low tension, "modern" flat or a light gauge of something like Chromes. Flats often have strong clear highs that are just missing the nasty raspy round wound acting like a file on frets sound. The lows also don't have that overtone ring to them when thumbed.
Hhahahaha pedals are really an addiction! My favourite envelope filter still the Robotalk 2 from Xotic i LOVE IT!

Do you want to improve every envelope filter without peda ? Damp strings with foam or palm. This will give to the pedal a good way to work
