its a winch skidder you'll need a lot more than that to stop those machine. if the tree get stuck betweens tree it will just broke the other tree around or snap the one you are winching. you are stuck? no problem! just release the winch till you are farther out and winch it back will moving
Used to run a Wagner log stacker - the kind that can unload a 40' load of logs in a single grab - they came in two models, one with a steering wheel, the other (older) used wheel brakes - soo glad I was driving the one with a wheel, lol. Jacky is a monster! Enjoy!
Good morning Greg just seen your video congratulation on your new piece of equipment. You are getting in with the big boys for sure very happy for you keep the videos coming
Enjoyed the video and happy for you. Always a nice feeling when a guy gets a new tool or Piece of equipment.. Have a Jesus filled day everyone Greg in Michigan
You already have the best choker style for getting maximum ground lift. Cable chokers are whatever they are, chain chokers can be set just the diameter of the log.
HAY, MY WOOD GUY, JACKY, IS AN ABSOLUTE BEAST. WHAT DO YOU GET WHEN YOU CROSS A HEAVY EQUIPMENT TRANSPORTER ( H.E.T. ), A CAT D-9, AND GRAVEDIGGER??? " JACKY!!! " STAY COOL, GREG... PEACE...
Nice looking rig. My first skidder was the same once you get some chokers you’ll really be moving some wood! If you haven’t already check your air pressure in your tires they look low you don’t want a puncture. Good luck if you have problems with it reach out I may be able to help
Nice pants 🤪I'm glad you're alive 🤪riding off into the sunset , smooth hinge , I was wondering what your going to name it , I was leaning towards Tommy boy , but Jacky or jackie is good 🤪 Great job.
What we used to do with cable move in cose to the tree just hook the cable to it and go ahead and after on hook the cable be for cutting the tree down it makes you work easier.
When u hook your chocker and winch in try and get a little closer to the log and winch it saves the cable from being strained to much pulling it on the drum
Just my opinion, however with the skidder, I would have used the cable and pulled the hanger from the stump. Definately would not have cut into the base. It appears your working alone, no one to save you if something comes down on ya. Amazon sells 25k synthetic winch cable you can use to add on 100' of rope, they cost under $100 should last a season or two if your just using them here and there for extra reach. Jealous of the skidder as I'm doing my logging with a tractor and Grapple. Stay safe.
when you're dragging them logs through the field pick them up don't drag the whole log on the groundpick upthe log pull it right up to the Skidders so the butt of the log is off the ground
What year, how many hr, how many cylinders, and how much $???? Least it's quieter than I remember. But I rather use 50-70 hp tractor with pto winch and grapple.........
It’s a 1988... motor has maybe 200hrs on it.. it’s a brand new crate motor. Cummins 6bt... 6 cylinder with around 500hp.. very smooth and powerful. I started out with tractors.. and even though they do get the job done there is no comparison of a skidder that’s made for the environment like the woods... my tractor stays safe in the barn.
Hey buddy I am sure you realized it by now but I noticed how far up your chain your hooking the cable chokers. You can put the chokers closer to your wood and get the butt up more. Works really well and Jackie should be able to take 2 or 3 monsters when the buts AR up nice and tight
Running high torque on the tires can shortened tire life. It happens only when in the lowest gears and with good traction. On those long hauls it's better to get a comfortable load and go as fast as power allows. That is one reason bulldozers do not have tires. You are getting a lot of businesses. You may need to start hiring people to keep things going.
@@IveyKennedy-v7v oh that’s no fun I bet. Yea I’ve had to be extremely careful trying to always keep my machine up on high ground to avoid getting it stuck
You are wasting time and fuel. Haul as many trees as you can on one trip. I had a 240A and it pulled 3 large white and red oak. Also poplar. Always pull a full load. See if you can find a delimbing gate. They are worth thier wieght in gold.
way to go my friend keep up the great work do you mind if i email you a picture of a newly completed project i hope all your hard work keeps paying off take care
Congratulations buddy. Good looking skidder
.. be safe out there and I will stop by when I'm up that way in October
Thanks my friend!! Really appreciate your support bull✊🏻🪵 and please do! See you in October 😁
Wow I am impressed what Jackie can do! Didn't think she could pull that first log after it dug itself into the ground like that!

looks like a great machine can't go wrong with timber jack,
Jackie just opened the door to many more opportunities which were only a dream before. Good for you.

Awesome video Greg. That thing is sweet. BTW you finally got the right color.
Hello Greg, Great big boy toy🚜👍🏼🪵🇺🇸
Hello my friend! Thanks Larry! 😁 I’m so happy with it :)
Awesome video!!! Thanks!!
Thank you! For your support Tim!
My fav cable skidder over the years was a 240 timberjack could hook 4 trees 300 bdft each and pull them all out of the bush
Deff a good skidder. I just upgraded to a John Deere grapple 👍🏻
Congrats on the new gear.
True logger da cable skidder😊❤
Nice machine! I have a 240 super E. I use . Timber jacks are my favourite
That will last you a lifetime
Awesome!
Beautiful
Timberjack one of the best Skidders ever made I think it was 1948 in Woodstock Canada John Deere bought them out in the 1990s

congratulation on Jackie
Lookn good there greg, wont be to long before you hire some help..
There’s no doubt Jon! Always appreciate you watching and your support! 😁
nice timberjack!
She won't let you down, trust me, u can beat the living pics out of timberjacks and they'll be perfectly fine
I'm getting me a 380B. Grapple. This week
Super nice my friend!! Can’t wait to see it, I’m working my way towards a grapple too 👍🏻
Sweet !!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much Todd! LOL!!!🤣🤣🤣 that name would have been a good choice too! 👍🏻 and thanks again for them chaps! Love them pants 😁
@@thatwoodguy104 I'm happy that they fit ya ! Great job with all u do
I love this work. .....what kind of wood it is ....your forest there. ?
Very nice congratulations. Do you plan on getting a John Deere 550 dozer with a forestry package?
Wait until it snows! Nothing like pulling turns while everything else is bundled up hunkered down snow falling motor screaming
Yes sir!! ❄️😁👍🏻 I’m so happy with this machine logjammin. Appreciate your support my friend
What we used to do with cable move in cose to the tree just hook the cable to it and go ahead and after on hook the cable be for cutting the tree down it makes you work easier.
NO better feeling man
That rear frame looks lengthened? Should be a beast on steep ground and pull like a mule on flat going!
Get more chokers and a chain grab, try to keep your hitches up higher, it'll keep you logs cleaner
U should put taller tires on her with some chains
When u hook your chocker and winch in try and get a little closer to the log and winch it saves the cable from being strained to much pulling it on the drum

Hey, neighbor. Hope everything is going ok with you.
Chokers will help you hook up better than chain to get underneath trees wish I was closer I could show you a trick or two
She will put a dozen of them!
Man, you tripled your productivity. Chokers will help, you won't have to wrestle those chains.
You have a lot to learn about skidding
Yup. It’s called life.. you keep learning a lot every day
when you're dragging them logs through the field pick them up don't drag the whole log on the groundpick upthe log pull it right up to the Skidders so the butt of the log is off the ground

A set off bear paw makes a lot better for you and save you tires on your skider
Is it a power shift or not
my question is have you ever run a skidder before
Need about 5 good wire choker so you can pull 4 or 5 trees a one time
Those are rookie number, get 12 on that thing 💪
Running high torque on the tires can shortened tire life. It happens only when in the lowest gears and with good traction. On those long hauls it's better to get a comfortable load and go as fast as power allows. That is one reason bulldozers do not have tires.

That a Cummings in tj?
Yes sir! 👍🏻 brand new Cummins 6bt
New video please 🤙🏻
All fun until you stick the skidder
All fun until I stick the skidder?? Would you like to elaborate on that?
@@thatwoodguy104 logged quite a few years down here in eastern North Carolina where most all we have is swamps
@@thatwoodguy104 I've stuck a log skidder before and 8 hours later you finally get it out of the hole

get yourself some real chokers
Learn how to throw a tree
