  • Muscle contraction types include isometric contraction, isotonic contraction, concentric contraction, and eccentric contraction. Learn the difference between these muscle contraction types.
In this video types of muscle contraction are discussed along with an isometric contraction definition and example, a isotonic contraction definition, a concentric contraction definition and example, and an eccentric contraction definition and example.

See the other comment on isolytics - probably won’t be asked but it’s possible - it is confusing and I left it out on purpose

so how is cocentric and eccentric isotonic when infact the tension is being generated and is not the same throughout

Thanks for the q - the tone of the muscle is the same throughout the motion - it’s possible to go through those motions changing the tone intensity throughout, but as a standard definition it’s the same (pick up a dumb bell and do a bicep curl - although the “tension” or “force” may change (different heights, gravity).. the tone of the muscle will generally stay the same.

@@madmed thank you for replying but what do you specifically mean by tone of a muscle?

Zenab Naaz the tension exerted by the muscle.. length changes but muscle tension doesn’t
