    I'm studying for my recertification boards, and I wish I had had this during medical school. These graphics do a better job at really helping you understand the anatomy than anything I've ever seen. You zoom in and out, rotate, explain nearby processes, and this just made everything so clear. I've never liked or subscribed to anything before, but now I will. I only wish I had more than two weeks to prepare.

      @@madmed I hadn't gotten that far, but I like the graphics, the organization of the presentation and succinct, high-yield nature of the information. I was more thinking that this has lots of possibilities, and the next steps would need to be analyzed, including finding stake holders. There is a LOT behind the scenes in medical school and residency that you never see.

    I am 76 years old. I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis in my cervical spine and lumbar spine when I was 57. The specialist said I was too old for an operation, instead, I was given several years of physio and traction. The traction did help, however, the physio departments stopped doing traction and my physio was also stopped. I now have severe spinal stenosis in my lumbar spine and cervical spine. I can not walk very well, I fall easily. I have stiffness in my hands and I also lose the use of my left hand and my left leg. Walking is painful and my joints lock. My neck is very painful and I am unable to look up, my head is bent forward and I can not straighten it up. I am seeing a specialist in a few weeks, however, at my age, I don't hold out much hope that they will be able to help me. I can only hope they can as life is unbearable as I also have heart disease and I require shoulder joint replacement. I have already had one replaced in my left shoulder.

    Why C8 when theres only 7 cervical vertebrae

    • @madmed
      @madmed  4 роки тому +1

      Great question. It has to do with where the cervical nerves exit - there are only 7 vertebrae, but there are 8 nerves.. the last nerve exits differently than the previous ones - therefore by convention they called it C8

      because embryologically, the true C1 is fused into the skull. Then, there is differential growth of spine and cord, so the exit nerves and spine level no longer correlate
