    I am no traveller and never before thought of travelling to the USA. But seeing your videos which I have already learned so much from, makes me want to visit the US to go shopping at Weaver Leather Supply. Never found a comparable store in Germany.

    This has inspired me to make a clutch for a wedding present, im gonna make it out of 5-6 oz color 8 chromexcel from horween and use a live edge rabbit skin accent where you did the deer tanned cow. I think it's gonna turn out great!

    Chuck you made a beautiful project. If I did this project when my kids are home with their children and their 5 dogs, I’d have so much hair in my house that I would never recover from my allergy attacks. Plus it would last far longer than the visit did. EDT regards, Richard

    I’ve been looking for a video like this for a LONG time and Finally have one thanks to Weaver Supply! Can you recommend ways to attach a crossbody strap?

      You could sew in two d-rings attached with small leather pieces when your stitch the body together or add two straps with dee rings to the back side of the pouch (towards the top). And then add snap clasps to the strap so you can choose to add or remove the strap. Hope that helps!

    That turned out beautiful but I cringed when you cut that hair on hide. Ive used a lot of raccoon and opossum hides doing native american items and the first thing they teach is to cut it with light cuts through the flesh side and try not to cut through the fur. That way when you take the piece out the fur separates naturally instead of being cut in a line. There is a whole lot less fur pieces to vacuum up when you do it that way.

    More videos using a sewing machine would be greatly appreciated

    Please add the instruction about burning the ends of cut zippers to all projects that use them. I used one to make the leather hip pouch without burning the ends of the zipper, and now I’m worried about it 😬.
    Otherwise, I love this channel!❤

    Ok I'm curious. How does the hair on hides holds up to humidity like we have here in Houston?

    • @WeaverLeatherSupply
      @WeaverLeatherSupply  8 місяців тому

      It should be just fine! We wouldn't recommend the item be sitting out in the elements 24/7 but other than that it really doesn't require any special care. You can clean it with a damp cloth, always wipe in the direction of the hair growth. You can follow that with a soft bristle brush if needed.

    Will hair on hide endure weather? Could you protect it from rain?

    • @WeaverLeatherSupply
      @WeaverLeatherSupply  8 місяців тому +1

      Yes, it should be just fine as long as it's not sitting out in the elements 24/7. If cleaning is required, you can wipe it with a damp cloth, wiping in the same direction as the hair growth.

    Best way to get rid of cow hair? A lint roller. Be aggressive and you'll get just about all of it in 2-3 passes.

    Great if you have 3-4 thousand dollar sewing machine...which I don't. How many hobby leather crafters have this machine? I bet very few. Why not make the video for us and not the professionals? This is the first video from Weaver that was kind of far fetched in regard to the sewing machine.

      Did you miss the very beginning where Chuck said it could be hand-sewn?

      We've had quite a few requests for videos using the 303 just so people who are interested or have the the machine can see some project options. You can absolutely had stitch this project, the order of assembly would be the same!
