I was messing around with a piece of scrap leather earlier today and decided to try my hand at installing a zipper, then folding it over and making a small leather pouch. It came out really well and garnered tons of praise. Then I see Ryan install a zipper and. . . step by step, realize every mistake I made along the way.
I think adding some sort of fabric on the inside to cover up the stitches would have have made it a tad more deluxe but the end result looks fantastic either way.
i was thinking the exact same thing. like taking the same leather on the outside and just sticking it on the inside of the flap would give it a lot more of a "nicer" look. if thats possible with something this elegant
I like your technique of putting the straight edge down allowing the sanding of the very edge of the leather. Something I will start doing. Thanks for the content😊

Great work as always Ryan. I have a question, how long did this actually take? I seem to spend hours and hours and hours on a single piece all the while I see my profit margin getting smaller and smaller!
I love watching your videos and learning tips to make myself better at leather crafting. It seems like you mostly use tge same type of leather. What kind of leather do you use?
When do you make the decision to use edge paint over dye? Is it the type of leather you use for each project? (Edge paint for Chrome tan and dye for veg tan?)
Excuse my 🙏 .. Is that liquid product that you use on the edges of the leather pieces available on the websites of the electronic sale ?! And do you not be exit the thread or damage the sewing when you sew either by machine or manually and finish it only by cutting the thread .. !? I am really interested in your reply to the two questions
Great job as always man, really fun and therapeutic to watch your videos. The sounds of the workshop is great. Please don't ever go to commentary, we love the ASMR! 😁 God bless!

The colors of the leather and alligator really complemented each other well. Is there a reason you didn't burnish the edges instead of painting, sanding, and painting again?
Ryan, as always great work. Where did you get the nippers you use to remove zipper teeth at time stamp 4.09? I have looked but haven't found anything acceptable. Thanks.
heii i have been working on a sling back big enough to have a ipad pro the small one and my dlsr camera, but I'm stuck 😔 would like to hear if you could come up with a video where you tell more about how to work with things from idea to finished product or with your own design of a sling back?? 😅 😉 love your video, and thanks for getting me into leather work 🌹 ps. have you ever tried working with Rubber from a tractor hose?? it is just like working in leather

For me, personally, this is the best asmr! Something about leather work sounds just hit different.
Couldn't agree more.
