whenever you have charging problems: Always clean the battery cables and grounds to the frame. look all over for grounds as they can come from several places. Clean the connections coming from the alternator. Several times I have seen the main power wire coming from the alternator was corroded and not flowing current.
Arcosanti is so cool. My dad volunteered and lived there in the 70s. My mom and I stayed there in the 90s. I have several of their bells. Putting on my trip map. Thanks for the tour.
Oh wow that is really cool! We were a little disappointed that none of the Airbnb rooms were open because we would have loved to explore more of the little city. I wonder how much has changed since you were there 😊
Subscriber comment: I love watching your blogs! You two are being real, and innocent, wanting to explore and share your adventures. I'm seeing more and more confidence, although, the innocence is special... and, you two being such a good loving couple is refreshing. Thank you for all the efforts you put into sharing these journies. Sending love from the east coast beaches of Florida, and now I'm in Colorado sending you two lots of appreciation.
Hi guys, nice to see you again! Before you know it you both will become walking encyclopedias ! You are learning so much while out on the road. That is a very useful thing.I'm always so happy when your problem gets solved and you're on your way again. It is fun to travel with you because your filming is spectacular! Take care and God bless. I'll see you the next time. Louise
Hi Louise! Thanks so much! 💚 It can be a lot of fun to find interesting stories like Arcosanti while on the road. Also we’re SUPER relieved the alternator problem was an easy fix. I think we really needed that for our morales 😅
Jimmy I know this wasn't your first go around working on the bus 🚌 so I had faith you could and did fix the problem. Great job. 👏👏👏 Now that you guys are stalked up on food I bet we all can guess what you're cooking for supper.😁
Arcosanti (and Cosanti) are amazing! The tours are highly informational and worth the $. It's also supposed to be the new home of the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architechture.
We actually do have a switch like that! It has been super helpful when we had the faulty alternator because whenever we notice the starter batteries dipping too low, we’d flip the switch and stop charging our house bank.
Congrats on scoring the America the Beautiful Pass guys! Jimmy your skill level has definitely increased when it comes to "mechanical task" now ... six months ago...not so much 🤣! *pats jimmy on the back and a 👊🏻* You got me beat bud! 😎🤙🏼💚🌵
Thanks! We’re super excited for the AtB Pass! Also we’re SUPER relieved we could fix this one by ourselves 😅 Saved us a lot of time and money in the end!
you are both so young, and still in decent shape. When you get to be my Age in the mid-50s then you want to pay a lot more attention to what you’re eating right now, U2 are so young it doesn’t matter that much I don’t think. Love you videos keep it coming kiddos.
👍Glad to see you were able to get all fixed up. Just hate that it takes so long to get parts. Every time I have to get a part for mine it’s normally order and wait…. Glad to see you got your parks pass also. We’ve got our state park pass and love it.
Awesome views at the end...enjoy them. I hope you are all set with repairs!! But glad Jimmy is willing and able to tackle some of it to help save on labor costs! Have fun!!!🎈🎈🎈
You can buy parts to rebuild the alternator. I replaced the brushes in mine at an auto parts store in Flagstaff. You can buy the bearings also. Ford used them on ambulances in the 80’ and 90’s.
What a great video!! I can hardly believe you two have been on the road for 6 months . So proud of you two and how well you handle anything that comes your way! I know you are making your parents proud!!! Save travels and thank you for sharing!
Thanks Julia! Yeah I’m super glad Jimmy was able to get it fixed. 😅 With all these new parts we are replacing we’re going to have a shiny new engine in no time 😂
Really liking the paint job. It seems to give it more character. Glad you got the alternator figured out. Always a bummer it takes a long time but you seem to keep your positive attitude which is always a plus. Thanks for taking us along.
I can relate to being stuck waiting for parts. Earlier this year we had to get towed to the Freightliner dealer on a Saturday with Monday being a holiday. We boondocked in the Freightliner lot for five days as the parts we needed trickled in. RV life has its ups and downs.
Ouch, yeah waiting 5 days for parts is never fun. I suppose that is one perk of doing it in an RV… you’ve got a comfy place to stay while they’re all coming in 😅
Great vid kids! Nice you’re able to handle those pesky hurdles. Hmm, heading north. Will they hit the Grand Canyon? Meteor Crater? Horseshoe? Petrified Forest?
WOW!!! GOOD FOR YOU JIMMY!!! I'm sooooo glad that you guys took care of that and it's so awesome that you were able to do it yourselves!!! Go you's!!! Off towards Canada, and all sites in between! Can't wait to see what interesting places and things you encounter on your way! Enjoy the trip, and be safe love's!!! Have a great week!!! 🍃🤗🍃
Thanks Donna! 💚😊 I’m super proud (and relieved) that we could get that problem by ourselves! We’re excited for Canada but will definitely be taking some time to get there so there’ll be SO many cool places to see along the way! 😄

Nice seeing you’re enjoying Arizona. The bells they sell at Arcosanti are cast at Cosanti in Paradise Valley near Phoenix. Also a great place to visit. Montazuma’s well is only a few miles away from the castle with a great hike. Further up the road you could visit V Bar V and hike to an amazing display of petroglyphs and beyond Flagstaff you could use your pass to visit Sunset Crater/Wipaki Monuments. The Grand Canyon too.
I came across your channel and have been watching as many of your videos as possible. I am about to start from the beginning and binge watch your channel!! I love your content!! You guys are awesome!!!
Don't worry! We couldn't go fast even if we wanted to! Haha 😂 Our tentative plan is to enter Canada sometime this summer. There's so much to explore on the way there! 😊💚
Glad you got the bus all fixed up!! We have a nature preserve here in NY that is named Montezuma. That was kinda cool there was a Montezuma place way out in AZ. Travel safe!!
I believe the new alternator ended up being $285. I suppose since the first one we had bought was too small for our bus was why it cost a little less. Still not too bad! 😄
Your videos are getting better and better. The only thing I can say is don't put problem parts off til later. I hope you disconnected the battery before changing the alternator. I used to do them with tge battery connected until one taught me a lesson in why.
Ouch! Don’t worry! Jimmy is very safe when we have to touch anything like that under the hood. Not only do we have an inline disconnect switch for our batteries, he’ll also go ahead and remove the batteries cables as well.

My plans have changed, I'm looking for a bus about your size and I will have a 16' enclosed trailer. That’s awesome to hear about you starting to take some trips in your bus! Yellowstone will be a perfect “long trip”! It’s so much for taking that first trip in your skoolie 😄 Hopefully we’ll see each other on the road one day and come say hi if you spot us!
