    I'm hooked on your hair tutorial! Always had my hair short but started growing my bangs out for style similar to this. Best thing about your vids, no annoying music, and you don't talk about yourself for the first half of the tutorial, lol. Also u have a very pleasing voice!

    Finally found a stylist who could do this cut!! I always had long hair and after seeing your first video I decided I wanted this style. I love it! It's super easy to do and I love the fact that I can get up in the morning and just fluff it up and go. Thank you for being such an inspiration to others. 😊

    Sharalees, as I watched your tutorial, I noticed your sweet spirit. I found your blog and read your profile which explained the Light I saw in you. You and I share a few things in common. We are both believers and musicians. I am a worship leader at our church and in local prison ministry. I also play keys and sing. Thank you for helping me with this in-depth tutorial. I took it to my stylist Wednesday and she did a pretty good job of duplicating the cut. My hair is transitioning to gray, so I'm having to work with that regarding the "piecey" process. Will try and see if I can get a photo to you. You are a gift and I'm so thankful for you!

    I was just about to ask if you could please ask your stylist if this cut would be suitable for those of us cursed with baby fine hair. I'm 52 and have long baby fine hair that refuses to hold any style longer than 5 minutes. I'm tired of long hair and ready for a change, but have no clue what will work for me. Thanks.

    Hi Sharalee-- Just saw your new video and I love it. I am very excited about you doing an in depth with your hair stylist. How far back do you start your bangs? and how long are your bangs and the hair on top. My hair doesn't stand up like yours and I'm not sure if it's too long or too short. I have the same cow lick on the back of my head that is always flat too. Thank you so much for going into depth. It is really helpful. What shampoo and conditioner do you use and what is the name of your paste? Love ya bunches!!!!

    • @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates
      @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates  7 років тому

      Cheryl Marr Hi Cheryl! Thank you so much for you sweet compliments and great questions!😊 My ideal bang length is probably about 2.5-3 inches and they start about halfway back....if I draw a line down towards my ear, they start about the middle of my ear. You may need to convince your stylist to go a little shorter on top of your crown and not just the back of the head. Favorite shampoo is Redken Blonde Idol and conditioner is Redken Color Magnetics. And the paste I use is by Enjoy and called "Dry Wax". Love & Blessings to you!💕

    Hello there! Love your tutorials. . . .thank you. Question for you. . .how long approximately is your spiked up/out portion of your hair? Would you say 1 inch long or 1.5 inches? I have had my hair cut this style and it does well as far as styling even though I have fine hair - but a lot of it :) I am thinking my stylist just needs to go shorter?

    • @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates

    • @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates
      @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates  6 років тому

      Oh yes, the back can be a little tricky to style! You need a good handheld mirror to help you see the back or, as is true in my case, a medicine cabinet on the adjacent wall with a mirrored door that you can use to see the back of your hair😊

  • @christinaarias8532

    Hi I just love the way you explain how to style but for some reason I can’t get my cow lick to cooperate with me at all . I get my hair for the most part to style but not the cow lick area!! Lol and also what else could be used to add a little shine? The Aragon oil is what I use now. Thanks for anymore tips you can give me

    • @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates
      @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates  6 років тому

      Christina Arias Oh those cowlicks can be a real pain, can’t they?😉 If you have a cowlick in the bang/front area, I’ve found that it helps to have a little more weight/thickness in that section....too much razoring or texturizing can make it separate even more. If your cowlick is at the crown of your head, you may try leaving that just a smidge longer and also a little thicker there. As for shine, I also like using coconut oil, especially the Monoi Tiki Tahiti oil....smells delicious!😊

    I had my hair cut like this today and the top is too long. Bummed! I love my color, though...deep auburn with carmel and dark blonde lights. The argan oil makes it shine, shine, shine!

    • @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates
      @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates  7 років тому

      Linda Jones Oh the color sounds beautiful!! And I'm so glad you like the Argan oil! I'm so sorry the cut isn't quite right though. I've had that happen before with a couple stylists and I've found it's because they are afraid to go too short on top. So I find I have to convince them it's ok if I sticks up on top😊 Perhaps your stylist can get you in for a quick revision and trim that part for you.

    • @lindajones4863
      @lindajones4863 7 років тому +2

      Sharalees Box Of Chocolates I thought I could work with it but there isn't enough texturizing (my hair is thick, very) and top is just too long. Even with the longer front, your hair just seems to flow and blend in nicely with the shorter area behind the ears. Mine is a distinct disconnect--long (I can tuck it behind my ears) but then boom, short. It doesn't seem "blended." It just shouldn't be this much work to style (kinda the point, Lol). On a bright note, they're getting me in after-hours tonight to fix. I live in a rural area and it's 30 miles to the salon, but the one thing I'll do is take care of my hair. Lol I told hubby 24 yrs ago, "keep the diamonds, but never question me about my hair!" :-)

    • @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates
      @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates  7 років тому

      Linda Jones Sounds like you and I have similar priorities when it comes to hair😘 How did your cut go last night? You are right, if the area behind the ears and on top is too long and not blended it can make this style very challenging to fix....and that's not what we want!😜 Hopefully you are all fixed up now and the next cut will get done right the first time😊

    Thank you so much for sharing such helpful tricks and tips for this unique style. My stylist and I are still “figuring it out“ as far as ideal spike lengths for my heavy, thick (yet strangely “fine” hair.) With each cut there is a definite improvement as we continue to fine tune, so I think we’re getting there! I’ve been using Kenra Working Wax but am nearing the bottom of the jar, so I’m looking forward to seeing the difference when I style with Enjoy Dry Wax. I wonder if you could answer a few questions? Do you use low or high fan speed when you blow dry? Is there a particular reason that you don’t use the concentrator/funnel/or whatever it’s called 😉 when you blow dry? Thanks in advance! 😁

    • @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates
      @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates  5 років тому +1

      You are most welcome! So happy you and your stylist are working together to fine tune your style....that coordinated effort is definitely necessary with this type of style. I'm excited for you to try the Enjoy Dry Wax! When I blow dry my hair, I use high fan speed and high heat until it's dry and then finish on a low, cool setting to set the style. For some reason, when I wear my hair spiky (like in this tutorial), I feel like the concentrator makes it harder for me to get the back fully spiked...perhaps it's all in my head😘 However, when I wear my hair flat in the back and styled forward in the front, I do use the concentrator. Hope that helps! Keep up the good work with your styling....you'll be a pro in no time!💕

    Also. . . .was it a leap of faith in your stylist when you first went with the highlights on normally brown hair?

    • @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates
      @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates  7 років тому

      Paula Summers Yes, I was a little afraid at first because when I had long hair, I had a few unsuccessful attempts that turned out a little on the "strawberry" side, I you know what I mean😳 But I told my stylist this and she assured me she would use a high lift bleach and then tone it if needed. I also started off with smaller streaks and then worked up to more chunky highlights.

      Sandra Weaver Because it's so quick and easy to fix, I do wash it nearly every morning. It is possible to restyle it by just using the blow dryer to re-emulsify the wax and spike up the sections that got flattened by sleeping on it😊

      Hi Val! I have heard from a couple others that it’s hard to find some of these products in their country too. I’m not sure what brands you have available there but you want to look for a root volumizing mousse of some kind and then a pomade or texturizing clay that isn’t too greasy. Hope you are able to find something great and enjoy your new style!!

    Is the Root Boost like a hair spray or is it a mousse texture? Please.

    What length does your stylest cut your style .

    • @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates
      @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates  5 років тому

      Usually at the top where the spikes start is about 2 inches. Then the back tapers down to about 1 and 1/4 inches. The sides I like cut at an angle starting just above the bottom of my earlobe. The bangs I like a little longer and usually they fall just below my eyebrows. Hope that helps!😊

    I love this style and recently got my hair cut the same way. Problem is that my hair is fine and a little thin. Also I have a little natural curl and in the humidity in NC it can tend to curl some. Does the wax and hairspray you use help with that? Thanks so much ❤

      I’m so excited for you and your new style! Yes, the wax and hairspray do a great job of holding the style through all kinds of weather. And what I especially love about the wax is it won’t weigh your hair down or make it greasy.....just remember a little goes a long way!😊

    What color is the dark and the highlights

    • @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates
      @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates  6 років тому

      The dark is my natural hair color which my hairstylist says is about a level 5.5 ash brown. Then she uses Volume 30 to lift my color to about a level 10 brightness. Hope that helps!😊

    • @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates
      @SharaleesBoxOfChocolates  5 років тому

      The lengths can vary slightly from cut to cut. However, in this video, the back tapered down slightly to about 1 and 3/4 inches at the bottom; then I usually like the front to fall just below my eyebrows. I do have a few videos of me at the salon and my hair stylist showing how she cuts it. This video is probably the best at showing this particular length/style: ua-cam.com/video/4pCP3p2czCs/v-deo.html

      Who sets styles anyway???? This style works for her and she is smart enough to realize it. Style is confidence and what looks well on someone, when one capitalizes on that, then that is STYLE. Some people will always be like Lemmings, always following, whether it works for them or not sadly.
