I like terra cotta pots but in the sun in my area, they get burning hot. I can only use them in the shade.

if you use a terracotta pot, does it need a drainage hole at the bottom? or is there normally already one? I'm very new to this haha

It’s all good!! Clay pots normally come with a drainage hole. But if it doesn’t you should definitely drill a hole with a diamond drill bit. It is crucial you provide excellent drainage if you want to keep your succulents happy and healthy.
