Hi Liz, thanks again for the informative video, most of my collection go into terracotta pots but I’m also a sucker for cute ceramic pots so my Korean succulents pretty much go into cute ceramic pots but unglazed inside. I only use one soil mix which is gritty made primarily of 70% inorganic mix,(Kanuma, akadama, ) and 30% organic like premium cactus soil mix with some worm casting added. All my succs goes into gritty mix except some miniature ones that goes into cococoir mix from Fat Plants. I’m hoping I will get mine to grow beautiful ones like yours. I was thinking maybe a jellyfish style with succulents? Have seen photos with petunias and various vines coming out of the center but no succulents done that way.
I haven't done it as well but if I were to make one... I would probably put hessian on top of the + wire. Then put moss to protect the soil consisting of Coconut Coir with added fertilizer. Plant succulents on top and also insert succulents in the bottom tied onto the + wire. Will try to do a video in the future. Good luck.
Motion sensors are not suitable for our areas as there are too many people walking their kids and dogs. The best deterrent I find is not putting anymore succulents out front that can be seen.
I've tried using them and they tend to clog up. Best to wash them thoroughly to get rid of the mud if using into the soil mix. Otherwise, it's perfect for top dressing after a wash.

Hello, thank you for the information. I’ve been reading different opinions/ways, regarding whether or not it’s okay to add Lava Rocks to the Pot before adding the potting Soil (specifically for Succulents). Can you please advise in your opinion if it’s a good idea or not to add Lava Rocks or any other Stones/Rocks to the planter prior to adding Succulent Soil? Thank you so much. J. Garcia
I find that adding rocks to the bottom of the pot promotes air circulation and also stabilizes the pot. This also stops the mesh from moving about exposing the hole and also prevents the soil from getting wash off.

Hey Liz I don't even take a single chance to miss even a single line information from your video. Can i request u to make a video on how to keep Rodents and stray cats away from once garden.
That's difficult as I don't have none. I have a blue tongue lizard wandering freely which I thought was a rodent before. The neighbors cat keeps knocking my succulents on the fence. Maybe I should get a new neighbor with no pets.😅🤣
Being a big fan of bonsai as I am there is a trick to keeping the really small trees happy and healthy in their smaller pots and what i've seen them do is place the pot on top of a bigger pot and partially burry the base of the pot with soil. What this does is increases the surface soil area and allows for wicking moisture and keeping the plants roots cooler. I'm not an expert though so i'm not sure how what may effect the integrity of the roots if there are heavy rains.
I use to grow bonsai and have to give them up when I started going away for long time. Succulents can't be treated the same as standard Bonsais as they require a lot less watering but whatever I've learned before now I apply to succulents. Thanks for watching.
thankyou for showing examples of this, all of your videos are so useful and interesting :) if you dont mind can you let me know the name of the orange and purple plant at 18:27 ? Id love to own one but maybe its rare

Last year during winter when frost hit, most of my succulents in clay pots died or suffered heavy damage whereas those in plastic pots were unscathed☹️
Hey Lizk How are you dear. I wonder what will happen with succulents if we use those Rice washed water or banana peals water as fertilizer. We use them on other vegetable gardens n it seems those fertilizer helps the plants. I have very very limited succulent collection so im afraid to do experiments with them. Have you ever tried such with succulents ?
I have used my rice water on my edible plants before but when it comes to banana peel, not too sure about that as most of them are sprayed with pesticide. Doesn't matter with succulents but they do attract gnats. I much prefer using Seamungus as it's quite inexpensive, easy to use and my succulents are loving it.

I have a couple of pots with no hole and kept away from the rain so I can control the watering and the plants seems to be okay. They can survive with no holes but not advisable.
Just let it callous off for a couple of hours then put it in your soil but don't water it for at least a week or two depending on the type of succulent.

Its a very common plant called Echeveria Black Prince. They don't look like that when they're still young. That plant is over two years old.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK ah cool thanks, I didnt realise they could change with maturity, I bought one yesterday already :)
Hi LizK, I'm really new here at your channel. I'm wondering and want to buy some succulents, did you sell them online? Gotta get bored with lockdown👌🏻 😅
I'm growing them for my huge garden. Will eventually sell some in the future but don't have enough ATM. Thanks for watching.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK Thanks for replying. I live in SA, when you're available for them, please let me know. Thanks again.
Liz, the crushed granite can be used as well?
Yes you can but you have to sieve it and them wash it first and dry before using.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK , thanks so much! I bought crushed granite, may I just ask, Why do I need to wash it? Sorry, I don’t have any clue. Pero pansin ko lang, parang maputik sya, it that the reason why I need to wash it?
@@ortenciamcilhaney2604 They are muddier than my original decomposed granite.
I use terra cotta pots too for my succulents
You really can't go wrong with terracotta pots. Thanks for watching Ma'am.

Paulet ulet ko na naman etong panuorin🤣👏😘
Last year during winter when frost hit, most of my succulents in clay pots died or suffered heavy damage whereas those in plastic pots were unscathed☹️
Good to know. Thanks for sharing.👍🥰
Your succulents are out in the open? Any problem with rain? I live in Asia Pacific?
With the right soil mix, they can handle full sun, rain, hail and frost.
How can I order a plant from you, I’m here in the Philippines starting to grow succulent and other plants
I don't sell my succulents ATM and quarantine laws here in Australia is very strict.
Just asking what stones u use for top
I use decomposed granite also known as Maifan Stone.
Happy hearts day po.
Do all the pots have drain holes?
Yes they do.
👍super liz
Thank you very much.
Do you always have to have a drain hole on all the pots?
I have a couple of pots with no hole and kept away from the rain so I can control the watering and the plants seems to be okay. They can survive with no holes but not advisable.
First again! Hi Liz!
Congrats Rosemarie.🥳
Taga victoria laguna po ako mam my mga collections din po ba kayo dito sa pilipinas mam lizk sana oneday maging ganyan din ang mga halaman ko😍😍😍
Wala na po sa Pilipinas. Australia base na po ako.
Wow
If you pull a baby away from the mother plant and it has its own roots, does it have to dry out before repotting?
Just let it callous off for a couple of hours then put it in your soil but don't water it for at least a week or two depending on the type of succulent.
Liz I’m a newer succulent addict I’m having a really hard time with propagation can u plz help
Got a few videos on succulent propagation. May I suggest taking a look on my Propagation Playlist and choose which topic/video you're interested in. Cheers

I have one pretty pot and I paid $165 for it LOL and as a matter of fact it's empty 🤣🤣🤣 every morning I go in my plant room and I try to figure out what plant I want to put in it but none have jumped out at me yet not to mention it does not have a drainage hole and I'm not going to put one in it because I don't want to risk damaging it. But I use all terracotta on my mature plants and plastic on my nursery plants so I'm happy to see I'm doing something right LOL
I have such pot with no hole and it's got Echeveria glauca and crassulas growing happily for the past couple of years.
Can I buy this product
I don't sell ATM. Thanks for watching.

Please take a look at my many videos on my channel on how to propagate succulents.
can't believe they also steal plants there in Australia
I just got my baby Agavoides and I don't know what to do with it
LOL.....Congrats. What variety?
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK I don't know it says Agavoides
Why not put a fence to prevent steeling
@@juhn-welgula682 Agavoides are very strong plant. If it's in a big enough pot, I would just leave it there to grow for a while to acclimatize in its new location, then repot on a pretty pot after a month.
@@juhn-welgula682 We're not allowed to put fences where we live. If we do and someone jumps over it and gets hurt, you can get sued big time and maybe go to jail...LOL
I am so sorry that people are stealing the plants from your front gardens.
Nothing I can do about that but I'll still plant some but just not what I was planning to do before.
🤩🤩🤩💖💖
I grow mine in plastic pots. Even terra cotta is expensive.
They have terracotta pot at 99 cents store about 6 inch.
