I grew up in Aucks...Moved to Greymouth 29 years ago...I'm still on the West Coast and still fn lovin it!
Don't bloody listen to these wankers. The west coast is my favourite part of NZ. Born in Chch, lived in Auckland for 7 seven years moved back to Chch, and I will never ever forget arthurs pass through to Punakaikai and all up the west coast. I think about it all the time. Untameable, wild, stunning. I would love to get a tiny house and live there for a while. Papanui chch, and prissy northshore auckland are far more fucking depressing than the west coast like jesus christ its horrible.

The best part about Greymouth is there snow fucking Auckland is there it's why Reefton is so good as well and I can say that I've lived in both towns

To be honest that nothing comparing to a house that got sold last week in Auckland, Owners bought it for 625k last year and sold it for 1.35m this week.

I got the fuck outta Greymouth over three decades ago and almost all of my immediate family have left. It is a horrible place. The coast road, heading north and Hokitika environs, in the southerly direction, are fabulous. But Greymouth? No, nah, nyet and nein.

No one's "ripping us off", over half of Auckland are first generation immigrants who often come here with a lot of money and with the mindset that the best way to make money is to invest in and speculate property. That's literally the entire problem. You can build as many new, terribly planned and low quality houses as you want (spear headed by companies originating from the same country that caused the problem in the first place) but there will always be an infinite number of buyers to purchase those too.
I've seen websites that are written entirely in Chinese that list every house in New Zealand and all their details, down to the racial demographic surrounding it. It's like kids in a candy store for them. People are retarded for ignoring this.
