This show feels like a punishment you'd be sentenced to in Hell for being too hubristic about your spelling ability. Also gives me the same vibes as pretty much any SNL skit where Bill Hader plays a game show host
3:32 is so perfect, the way she flies through the spelling like she's had it memorised for decades The crowd impressed and applauding Guy happily yelling INCORRECT over their cheers 🤣
After watching season 2 of NZ Taskmaster (thank you official UK youtube channel) I actually know some of these people. I feel like a whole new world of comedy shows have opened up for me. It's going to be a busy week.
Some wonderful soul uploaded the series on UA-cam and it has been giving me so much joy. And since it got taken down, this compilation is a wonderful short taste of it. Thank you!
As much as I've come to love Aaron and his shit riddles, Sanjay will still be the superior assistant, I've not seen someone do deadpan so well for a long time.
i just found out about taskmaster nz a couple of days ago. and now i’m invested into this show. is after watching this. the part with guy williams trying to spell feliz navidad is everything and so much more!!
As someone also in Canada, it’ll be hard 🥲 some wonderful soul just uploaded them to youtube so you can hopefully catch it before it disappears or if you have a vpn it’s all up on the threenow app
I so wish this had Courtney attempting to spell Questionnaire to get a pair of Beats for a teenager, spelling 'Questionaire', and as soon as the last e leaves her mouth immediately shouting *NO* in indescribable anguish
The show is perfect because if its a hard word they dont get, Guy makes them look stupid, but if its a word they do get, he turns up the condescension and makes them seem even more stupid
Can someone explain this to someone who has never seen the show. Is it just a spelling bee? I'm not trying to sound mean or be judgemental, just checking if I'm missing something. When they have to spell something like coward... ia there a catch? Or do they deliberately pick contestants who struggle with spelling? I did notice the coward guy said something about separating cow and ard since everyone knows how to spell cow and he knows how to spell ard. Seems like I'm missing something about how the game works
The catch of the show is that it’s a semi-regular spelling bee on the first round and then it goes off the rails. On the first round the contestants pick if they want an easy word randomly picked from the cowards cup for one point (like coward or guitar), a regular word from the person’s purse for two points (like misspell or gargoyle), or a hard word from the bucket of bravery for three points (onomatopoeia or kaleidoscope). Asking Guy for language of origin, sentence or definition does not help in any round, he does his best to make the contestant more confused with the answers. All rounds after that are insane and change every episode. Sometimes they have to spell words that have the same pronunciation but different spellings with no clues as to which one they’re actually supposed to spell, or spell a word that was written by a six year old and having to guess if the kid spelled the word right or what mistakes they made if they didn’t. There’s spelling words in different languages, being given an acronym and being ask to spell out what it stands for, spelling the names of random people in the audience and watching the contestants fight the urge to just pick old white dudes, or asked to pick an object at random and guy chooses an adjective for that object that they gotta spell (you could end up with unhygienic or with big, and there are no clues ever as to what it’ll be). It’s just a silly show about spelling silly words and allowing comedians to be goofy
@@OwlRTA Found out a bit later that that's the case. But ... Same thing! (No, of course not ... but needling my NZ and AU friends with that, as well as terribly overblown accents, never really gets old...)

It's the creepy, sadistic half-giggle and grin he does before saying 'Beg!' that does it for me.
@@92RedRevolver Yep that too, and I think that kind of behavior is what makes me think he would do great as the taskmaster :)
That was some Guy on Guy violence!
The Feliz Navidad section is one of the funniest things that's ever been on television
Especially because GuyMont said Prosperous Anus
"Can I have the language of origin?"
"Spanish, dickhead"
I thought it would be spelled Felice Navidad. Still nice to see I was closer.
I've never heard of this show before but I'm already entirely invested
I think all of the episodes are uploaded on UA-cam because I binge watched it about a month ago.

This is how I felt when I first saw Taskmaster, and am definitely feeling it here.
There's a pandemic episode with Paul F Tompkins (and other great ppl) that I highly recommend.

The “What’s that Name” game came to mind where people have to say the name of people in their lives 🤣
I love every single time that Guy Williams threatens to fight the entire audience in the car park.
"no wait Ctrl-Z"
This guy is on a higher plane of existence
If you haven't seen his diss track from Taskmaster NZ, you haven't lived. David Carreos is an absurdly wonderful human being.
I really wish _"Ctrl-Z"_ was as accepted in real life spoken situations as it was in this clip
It bothered me that he was saying "zee" instead of "zed"
I feel like David Carreos takes psychic damage just…going to the shops
I mean, this technically happened during TM NZ in the Lincoln Zoom task.

They are both great in their own way. But I'm a fan of Aaron's stand-up, so I might be biased.
I can confirm, from my viewing of the first episode of season 2, the unhingedness level is at or above season 1's lmao

I'm wondering if prospero ano still qualifies as a blessing or if it's more of a curse.
