Thanks for such a great extensive review! My favorite gold for after trying so many is always Finetec. But after watching this, I would love to try the Kuretake Mica for the pointed pen. Also, would love to give the Pearl X pigments a try. Thanks again Connie and Happy Holidays!

Such a fantastic review! The Kuretake Gold seems very interesting! I hadn't actually heard of it before. After trying Pearlex and Finetec, I adore the latter!

What a wonderful review!...You have saved me hundreds of dollars and frustration! The very neat thing is that because you detailed each ink etc. They all have their perfect uses...instead of feeling like the "product" was a fail on a project, one can clearly see that each has a practical use! They are all so beautiful when you show them . I have the fine tech watercolors , but I don't have the mica or a wink of Stella. I want a gold that I can write with a dip pen. I have used the dr Phil Martins but it separates so fast . Thank you for such a great review! I learned a lot from your demonstration. 😘

Great review !! Definitely saves me from trial and error spending. I currently have the Dr. Ph. Martin's Copper plate gold and I think it works well. Try the FW. Pearlescent inks next. I have the set and it's very nice.

this was such a great review. I would love to try the finetec palette , schmincke gold pearl ,and kuretake mica. I love all three of the colors and the line quality shown. crossing my fingers. :)
I love Kuretake Ink and was very excited when I saw they had a 6 different colored Metallic black Sumi ink, but just like the Yasutomo they are far too black for pointed pen work. They are very nice and worth a look for other applications. I still use them sometimes to add a hided metallic to letters.

such detailed reviews! I currently am using a couple of the Finetec individual refills (Arabic gold and Inca gold) and love them so much. but after this, I think I'd be interested in giving the Kuretake Mica Gold ink a try. :)

Thank you for this video! I'm amazed you got such fine lines with the Winsor & Newton calligraphy ink. I tried using it for drawing with an extra fine drawing nib and can't get any colour on paper at all because it's too thick/viscous. :( I feel like I'm the only one with that problem, when I see such beautiful fine lines like yours!

I began with ink early on and moved to paint. Out of curiosity about a vermillion Sumi e ink, I did a Google search and turned up your video. I loved it. It was so thorough; I know I will refer to it again. Thanks for the demonstration. I agree that the music is a bit distracting, even though peaceful. I loved your voice and would have preferred to just hear you. (:

Hi Connie. I purchased a Liquitex Acrylic Ink with dropper. Is it very similar to the one you used here? I always have trouble putting the ink to paper even after shaking the bottle. I have tried different papers and different nibs from Zebra G to Blue Pumpkin but still failed. Should I add water? Thanks.
Which nib did you use for Kuretake Gold Mica Ink? My nikko G doesn't any hairlines at all with this ink :(
