40 years ago, you counseled me when I was a sophomore at the Alliance Academy in Quito, and helped nudge me toward a walk of faith in Jesus, so I've watched you and ITEC with great interest over the past few years. It's been an inspiration watching you trust in God through this current trial. Continued blessings as you follow Him on this path and let God write your story!
Amen. Steve, a saint by the grace of Jesus Christ, is used, and is going to be used by THE HOLY SPIRIT more than ever before ! ... and greater joy & peace shall be His now & forevermore.
I want you & family to KNOW how God has & IS truly using the difficulties of your trials in this earthly 'walk' with HIM...To God be the glory......! prayers from Texas...😇❤
So good to see the progress you are making. That is truly an answer to our prayers. Thank you for being so public with your ordeal. It gives those of us struggling through our own circumstances the courage to continue on, leaning on the Lord for strength. You have touched my heart and given me new hope at this point in my 7 years of living with severe chronic pain. God is faithful. Keep pressing on and ... welcome home!
I can't express how thrilled I am for all of you. What a trial we experience in pain. I have dealt with three different types - a chronic disease that is ever present with nerve pain x 14 years, a botched surgery that took 2 years to recover from but gave me pain I did not know you could live through, & a rare condition that strikes without warning. Through it all I wondered why my dear, dear family has to be subjected to this right along with me. So hard but all we can do is ask for deep grace.
Thank You Mr. Saint - wht you said about discipline has helped me - I am so tired of all the pain with Type I Diabetes for 28 years. The constant going in shock hurt -and now I have complications with my hands - I am afraid and don't know how I will finish school and go to work and get off disability. God(Jesus) has allowed me to experience a lot of pain in life. Now I know that he is a great Father who loves me. God has taught me compassion for others through this pain. Please pray for me.
I see new horizons in your life for you will not only search for ways to make missionary life in remote places easier, but now, I believe, you will find ways to overcome the obstacles confronting a weakened body. May the Holy Spirit guide you in all these endeavors as you continue to magnify His name and bring glory to Him. Thank you for sharing and I will contiue to lift you up in prayer.
This is so powerful! WOW! Knowing that trials are actually a gift from God and believing it are two different things- especially when you are walking through the fire!
You have always been a man of extreme gratitude, and God is using you to teach others about gratitude. We would do anything to have our daughter back after an accident left her with severe brain and spinal damage that she would never recover from. We've been grateful since her birth 30 years ago when she was not expected to live past 3 days. She is with the Lord now, for which we are grateful. Keep up the good fight, Steve! I look forward to the next chapters! I am blessed to have met you.
Just as you have conquerored jungle barriers all these years, God's spirit will sustain you daily through this unplanned and totally unexpected challenge. God's Word is your daily dose that helps your learner's spirit and attitude ... having to re-learn ... like a little child. I applaud your openess to share and show your grand daughter as such a loving companion. Bountiful Blessings to you and Ginny.
Thank you so much for sharing your struggle and victories. Thanks for the strength you bring me with your faith and perseverance. God Bless you and your family.
Steve, I am so sorry about your accident and the fact that this video is the first I have heard about it. You will be in my continual prayers through your recovery. I don't know if you remember the Sands from Willmar, MN but I grew up in the same church as Ginny and I remember the stories of your Dad and you in Equador. You are the inspiration to the mission trips to Equador for First Covenant Church in Willmar. - In brotherly love, Doug.
Espero verlo pronto, bendiciones, Dra. Liliam Ortiz, Dentistas Misioneros de PR.
Thank you for the valuable lessons you have learned through this experience and have shared them with us. Suffering can be a harsh teacher and maybe the only teacher for some. I know it has been that way with me. I pray God's continual grace and mercy on your awesome life. God has drawn me to follow you in this painful walk and be part of your prayer team.
our prayers are with you. we know the Lord has wonderful plans for you and those around you. You are an example to all of us. We send you all our christian love Alberto and Dorothy Andrade Marin
Steve's wise revelation about those who recover and leave are those that do so alone can be extrapolated to the involvement of missionaries in the lives and lands of indigenous people. Google what the Ahka express about missionaries. I send genuine compassion to Steve, the Huaorani and indigenous people everywhere.
